Who are YOU hosted with and why?

Lets make this the official thread for everyone who has bought into a certain host and their packages. Tell us why you decided on it, some of the pros and cons. A lot of people at NamePros trust the opinions of others rather than some random and sketchy article which boasts that some hosting company is better for whatever reason. So with that said, let us know! :tu:

Host: HostMonster (www.hostmonster.com)

Why:
- "Unlimited" Storage / Bandwidth (technically "unmetered", but I haven't had any trouble and I consider myself to (ab)use this commodity, so they're not overselling)
- CHEAP (I got it for $3.95 / month, they have that offer so just wait)
- Fast / Good Server (Very rare downtime, no server issues)
- EXCELLENT Customer Service / Tech Support (24/7 Live Chat, connects within minutes, always answers / helps, and if not, then gets admin working on problem and problem is fixed within the hour)
- Flexible (cPanel allows installation via Fantastico/Simple Scripts, but can install your own things; allows php.ini and .htaccess modifications based on directory)
- Diverse (Supports PHP, PERL, CGI w/ Linux servers, ASP for Windows; Linux servers are best)
- Free stuff (1 Domain, $50 Google/Yahoo credits, etc)

Overall, I could not be happier with HostMonster. Most definitely one of the best and most professional hosting sites out there. Also, I like the fact that one account can have unlimited domains attached to it, so you can technically purchase one account and set up ALL your sites w/ it (since each site would just need one directory). The only obstacle that you may possible (and rarely) would run into is needing more than 100 MySQL DBs, but I'm sure you could purchase more if you reeeeeally needed them.

As a developer building lots of mini sites I find Dynadot has he best user interface I have found (Enom, NameCheap, GD, Moniker) for facilitating the kinds of things I need to do to keep my domains organized and make global changes when needed.

I have a dedicated server hosted by ThePlanet. Prices are higher than other options but it's worth it. Support is good. I also have a VPS hosted by Fluidhostig. Good host, not your cheapest option though.

If people use certain company or provider I suppose they do not have any bad words to say about it in other case they do not use them ;)
I suppose that will be the thread about good points only

I've been on hostquack for over a year now.

Pros - moneybookers as a payment method (main reason I moved to it in the first place), very helpful & efficient customer support, great uptime, cPanel software, up to date hosting (supports PHP, MySQL & everything else I need).

i'm with www.pipeb.com (biased).

i like having plans that are small and cheap rather than overpaying for stuff i don't even need.

I use Godaddy for my forums ( small but using too much bandwidth ). because you can get lot for the price. Specially if you have a forum which is growing but haven't started stable revenue stream to move to a VPS.

It seems that support and uptime are the most vital things here.
I was flabbergasted to know that payment method can be on the first place for the web hosting choice

I'm on a budget dedicated hosting plan from hqhost.net.
Like the functionality of their panel and its price.
Another plus is that they readily configured everything I needed for my sites.
The uptime figures are ok, the only serious downtime I can think of is 20 minutes when they moved servers from Chicago to New Jersey.

I've been using Fused for a couple of months, and I must say that I'm very satisfied. I haven't had any problems so far.

Last time (until 2009, when stopped internet activity) I was hosted by MMhosting. Why? This host is cheap and stable, what is almost impossible combinatiopn these days. Can recommend it for shared hosting needs.

I'm with Fused, not a complaint in coming up for a year now I'd imagine.

Well.. hmm.. im tecnically not hosted with a provider as i have servers... I get my servers from layeredtech.com. They were the first company that actually looked apealing to me.. I found them as the #1 link in google. Never had a problem with them. That have a savvis backbone so thats good..

When i first started off.. I used serversun.com. The owner of the company i met way back when in 2003 on a webmaster forum. He was very nice and offered me free hosting and i have had a couple paid accounts with him. He has been up for quite a bit. A good sign in a host.

My VPSes are with KnownHost. Why? Because they've got amazing support and very good prices (for the service you get). I've had 100% uptime with their network (not including mistakes I've made with apache misconfigurations, etc) for the 1.5+ years I've been with them.

I get my dedicated server (only have one at the moment) with VolumeDrive. Why? Since they offer the ability to pay up-front prices. So I paid $2xx up-front (for the HDs, RAM and RAID) and now I pay just $118 per month for:

Core2Quad 8200
4 GB RAM
2x 500 GB HDs, h/w RAID 1
10 MBPS dedicated connection
cPanel/WHM

Which is a pretty damn good deal ;)

But as far as I understand you are web hosting service provider, so you do not trust your own web sites for yourself?

im with hawkhost very fast server and fast response from support and their owner often personally handles the tickets...

The problem comes as the business grows. There comes a point where the owner either learns how to manage employees successfully or he and the business burn out.
