The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
WhyPark has gotten Google slapped, last I heard, and everyone was pulling out from there.

Not sure how the situation is now. Maybe someone can chip in.

We're using multiple ad feeds and are optimizing daily during this beta period. We're not able to allow arbitrage either due to the feeds we're using. By the end of this month, you should notice some pretty nice revenue coming out of the new integrated ads. While there are still a lot of customers using AdSense on WhyPark, we're going to be able to offer a lot more customization and integration options within WhyPark.

Craig, does this mean that sites hosted by you will not be suffering in the SERPs? That would be good to know.

Thanks

Man yesterday .36 per click on my free credit report domain. Was getting 2.00+ at parked. Is this going to go up?

Yes, absolutely the CPC's will continue to go up during the beta period this month as we continue to optimize the keywords being used in the feeds. Concerning AdSense, we have seen a lot of sites where the domains were no longer displaying AdSense, but there are still a lot that do. I think so much has to do with the authority of the site based on the incoming links. The integrated ad network is being put in place though so there isn't the dependence on third-party ads, while we still give the flexibility to use the ad network of your choice if you'd rather.

We're licensing a lot of new content and are starting a large development project to keep the duplicate content very low and provide services to help more with the search engine optimization side of things. In our stats though, we do have a lot of sites that are ranking well for competitive terms, but really where we excel is in picking up a huge amount of long tail search. To rank well for competitive terms, you still need a solid link building plan. Sites are absolutely still indexed though and generating hundreds of thousands of organic search engine visitors per month through our network.

Craig, is it safe to assume that any de-indexing that may of happened was due to duplicate content? And not because of some kind of server association issue. I have moved several sites to wordpress, and understand that you should only have unique content, but I do prefer the convenience of the whypark setups.

Duplicate content is definitely the biggest issue we're addressing as we bring more and more domains online (38,000+ right now). We have some plans that should combat it though along with the licensing I mentioned above. What typically happens anywhere, not just on WhyPark, is the site that has the better incoming links will typically be the one that ranks if there are several sites with the same content. I really recommend using niche terms though too. A lot of customers use very general keywords like "mortgage", but there's way too much competition in that field to rank well without putting a huge amount of money into link building. I always recommend using our updated keyword research tool to start with some general terms, then click on "related terms" to get a new batch of related, but much more niche terms to use. You get a smaller site, but it's focused and niche and there isn't so much competition after the same keywords.

I obviously can't announce too much about our plans right now, but we have very solid plans on how we'll carry out these changes. The development project we're working on right now is almost a complete overhaul and not to sound too bold, but I really think it's going to be an unmatched platform in the industry. I'm really excited about everything that's in store and will keep everyone posted as quickly as it can be announced.

The thing is, with Google, it's NEVER safe to assume anything. They most definitely take "neighborhood" into account when deciding to filter/penalize/ban/deprecate a site. The best thing you can do is test it with one or two domains (when it's ready) and see how you end up first before moving back an entire portfolio.

Definitely, I agree. We'll be doing a lot of testing before anything goes live.

thanks Netmeg,

Very good suggestion. Though i have a few domains that are on whypark and are still indexed and showing adsense. I don't understand the formula, since I have some with customized html that have had unique content, that were de-indexed.

And Craig, please keep us informed on your testing.

thanks

Craig, First off the new templates look good. I am just now adding more sites using your ad network and ran into a little trouble. I started my site using the new green template and was editing the details ect. I tried to ad html for an affiliate banner to the edit page ( top ad code ) but it does not show up. I tried a few diffrent banners and still nothing. Does the sponsered links have somthing to do with this?

EDIT- Sorry, I guess i should read the pages at Whypark a little more. It says that if i choose the Whypark Ad Network the will show in the top and bottom ad codes. Is there any way to display both html banners (in the top and bottom ad code areas) and the Whypark Ad Network without messing with the HTML?

turner10 - We'll be making some changes so you can still use your top and bottom ad code in addition to our ads. In the meantime, you can edit the Layout directly and add your banners anywhere on the pages, while still keeping our integrated ads in place.

Hey Craig buddy, thanks for the intersesting info. You reply promptly to my emails as well.
I spent the hundred bucks to park my domains, liked the content idea. Here is my analysis.
They are dot ca names,I have 40 porked there, actually made my first 2 cents after 2 weeks of parking, yippy!!!!I've tried to research wether i can find them in google we will use my parked page "yappy" dot CA I am impressed with the content there and when I search yappy,ca in the search box at google Iee 2 of your ads there,so I am starting to be more impressed.I have 5 out of 40 that have never worked, keep waiting there dead.I attempt the have a google search bar at the bottom of the page it appears maybe 5 out of 40.
What abouy more canadian ads anything in the works there??
And you told turner you couldedit the pages directly. How do I do that gotta learn somewhere.
I also believe is important to change The TITLE of your page, that appears in the search at google I am going to try the add a page feature.
Overall your control panel is awesome, page content is good but sometimes the same ad 5 out of 8 ads,asa for making money 1 click 2 weeks,2 cents ewww(these are new domain names)
Do I get paid if people read the articles or just the sponsored links????
Overall rating 7 out of 10 would be 9.9 your best parking job of all my pages can be viewed for informational purposes only at StreetDance.ca if you use the google search bar at the bottom of the page the proceeds will go to a worthwhile case.Cheers,
MasterofMyDomains.

Hey Craig I was just messing with my sites again and have another question. Is there anyway to add pictures or linked banners ( something small like 150X150) Into the custom article pages that would show up on the main page not just when the title link is clicked. For instance letting us use HTML for the "Summary Description". I tried to use HTML in that section but it only displayed the code for the article. I have a site that needs pics with the custom articles and would look better displayed on the frontpage. Thanks for all the help Craig!

Certainly a lot of nice

changes going on there.Perhaps if these had been made previously the problems could have been avoided. There have been more new templates in a month than in the last few years! but the venom from google against this company is worst I have seen ..Someone manually reviewed accts there and flagged domains that were there and in many cases pr2 or 3 as bad..I have some domains that were there that have been developed after I moved them and still google continues to refuses to index them.To say this is unusual is an understatement.Generally if you remove the domain from the bad neighborhood .They put it back. The duplicate content is a weak explaination.Myself and others have many duplicate content sites at other parking companies and developed and they are doing fine,as a matter of fact the traffic and pr is up.What exactly google has against why park we may never know ..but the fact is it happened. The question is will it happen again? or will changes placate them?.We're in a slow ad economy someone had to be cut..This time they took it out on whypark .google will report this thursday. When[if]they report slower ad earnings they will say ..no: they deliberatly eliminated "unproductive" accounts...Setting up the cover story for the investors.

CantStop,

I too lost indexing on some good domains. Have you filed for re-inclusion? I didn't think it necessary as a domain I had at the evo parking company had been officially banned and provided an option for re-inclusion in the webmaster tools, while others do not provide so. However, some of my whypark sites are indexed and doing fine.

Turner10: We made a change today so you can use HTML in the summary description for custom pages. So, you can now add images to the custom page summaries or any other HTML formatting. Thanks for the suggestion!

We've actually recently been seeing some domains that weren't indexed for a little while getting back into the search results. Just like any site online, it's still important to get good incoming links to your domains. That will definitely help in terms of SEO and just getting good targeted traffic. One of the many nice things about WhyPark is that you can work on building links since it's a full site. In many places where parked domains wouldn't be accepted (directories for instance), WhyPark sites are. That makes it easier to build up new, relevant links to build more traffic and also add value to the domain name by getting good incoming links.

Adding banners (HTML) to the articles works great! For a preview take a look at smartphoneapps.com . Rep added Craig. Thanks Again!
