Yea, but hope springs eternal in the human heart, which is why we're all still there.

Yup, and I assume you don't mean that in a philosophical sense.

Patience is a virtue of course, but I hope in this case virtue isn't its own reward.
:)

P.S.: For the avoidance of doubt, personally I am willing to wait as long as it reasonably takes for Donny to recover, deal with the backlog and prepare an update. IMHO it's somewhat unfair that this discussion is taking place in the parked.com thread, being by far the most open and transparent parking company that I've dealt with. My impression is that at least a big part of the big issues we reference are industry-wide.

You are of course correct. It was never my intention to criticize Donny or Parked. If it seemed so then I apologize.

Packrat, I was clarifying my own statement, didn't want to seem impatient in the circumstances.

I'm not staking great deals of money on arbitrage so I can afford to be patient.

anyone think the declining RPC has to do with declining yahoo profits? maybe they will start squeezing parking comapnies/domainers a couple cents a click to get profit back up? I myself think if this is the case it will backfire

snowboardingpackages.com

where is this parked?

Just heard on the news that Yahoo´s 4th quarter earnings dropped nearly 25% and that it´s going to lay off 1000 peaple in mid February.

Naturally it's getting hammered in after hours trading.

mobi parkers - how are your domains doing at parked.com? I've got mine at sedo and namedrive and they don't do much of anything - due to their lousy seo.

have anyones stats updated for Monday yet?

gregham2020 - If your stats haven't updated, nobody's has. Right now Ask is telling me:

Data for 1 /28/2008 is delayed.

Now all we can do is wait. Our system will attempt to download the report from them twice hour until it's available.

As far as Yahoo earnings, it wasn't their earnings that dropped 25% it was their profits that dropped 25%. Their earnings were actually up for the 4th quarter.

Gil - It is a big difference but their overall numbers still sucked. I guess it's finally time for me to send out my recommendations on how to fix Yahoo. Anybody know how I can contact one of the top people at Yahoo who still can make a difference? Maybe Jerry Yang, David Filo, or Susan Decker? I have a 5 page document on how Yahoo can take over the internet again just waiting for them to read it.

At this point in time, Yahoo should be willing to pave the floor anyone walked in gold, if it helps them out of their current nose dive.
The only reason why they're not willing/able to read anyone's suggestions is corporate blindness, mislead visions and general business idiocy.

Btw, stats seem to be delayed again. Ask sitting on their thumbs once again?

A wise, old man told me, "You can also wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first." :|

Donny - Just upload it to ScribD and get everyone you know to Digg it. Eventually someone at Yahoo will read it.

(On second thought - that might not be the best approach)

A start for yahoo would be to put better ads on YPN partners pages. I have several developed domains and for a domain about investing I get web hosting ads for web hosting I get weight loss ads etc. Google is much better ad matching ads with content

The only ones that will have any real say on whats is gonna happen is the share holders. Get that 5 pages in the next stock holders meeting :hehe:

Theres lots of talk all over of take overs, complete sale of the company, etc.

The share holders are the ones that I feel will have to make the decisions on where yahoo goes.

SELL
MERGE
CORP TAKEOVER
NEW CEO ( BEST SENERIO)

Lots say Jerry Yang is just to attached to get yahoo in the direction it needs to satisfy the share holders.
