Trafficz enforces NO arbitrage

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I see lots of people, often times newbies who want to send traffic to their parked pages. Many members say its ok, lots of them posting this in the Parked thread.

I have noted some have been banned by Google for sending traffic to a parked page. I say, don't do it. It is just to big of chance to either get banned or get your payout score lowered.

This is their mandatory sign in acceptance policy,

Dear valued TrafficZ clients:

We hope that this letter finds each of you well and enjoying the new year.

We have received a few questions lately and read numerous postings on various forums regarding the practice of purchasing traffic to your domains, also known as arbitrage. Just to remind everyone… Arbitrage is strictly prohibited by our Terms of Service (http://www.trafficz.com/tos.php), as well as the terms of service of our upstream providers. Regardless of what has been stated by other Yahoo/Overture parking services or posted on the forums, our representatives at Yahoo/Overture have informed us that the prohibition against arbitrage applies across the entire Yahoo Publisher Network. We understand that arbitrage can be very profitable when implemented in ways to ensure quality, targeted traffic; however, at this time, the practice is prohibited.

Ok... so go ask Donny why Parked says it's perfectly fine ;) Seriously, there are several major comapnies that explicitly ALLOW arbitrage as long as it comes from certain engines. THis isn't some "newbie" thing.

And NO ONE has been banned by Google for sending traffic to Parked pages. In every case it's because they did something else against the ToS.

If profiting from the exchange differential between foreign markets is such an evil practice, then FOREX should be abolished.

I don't believe arbitrage will last long anyway. It is the equivalent of MFA sites. The only major network that allows it right now is Yahoo and that is from non-Yahoo paid traffic from quality search engines, so therefore Yahoo allows only paid traffic from Google Adwords or MSN Adcenter.

If Yahoo ever prohibits arbitrage in the future, it is gone across all the major ad networks for the domain parking industry. At least this is from what I know.

I don't know the story behind TrafficZ, but if what they are saying is true, then it seems like Yahoo may already be slowly discouraging it.

money talks. There is waaayyyy too much money in it for google, yahoo and the end domainer.

The part I find so funny it that my search engine traffic and type in traffic rarely ever converts...however...arbitrage has a 70-80% conversion rate.

I am an advertiser of IT services. I get a lot of customers from people clicking on one of my add's published in the google content network on a parked page. How did they get there? Arbitrage.

paid for or not, if the traffic is good quality, why would it matter where it comes from?

whats the difference between buying mortgage-related traffic and forwarding it to a parked page and buying a domain like "mortgage.com" and parking that traffic ?
We don't even own domains, we lease domains via yearly contracts and get the traffic for free.

Exactly. We are providing funds to send customers to companies. Those companies pay us a commission (via the parking provider).

Like I said. I am an advertiser. I'll take arbitrage traffic any day...it's people looking for a product or service! As an advertiser why would I care if it's type in traffic or arbitrage, I just want the client!!!

Play it safe or take your chances.

umm,

someone did just post they got banned for arbitrage from Google in Parked. Also this point.. parking stats are all over the board, with most members saying their earnings are plummeting. Does that say anything?

Does Parked use Yahoo? If so according to Yahoo Tos sending arbitrage is strickly forbidden, no matter what Donney says.

Lol, you guys are professional domainers and you state, "to keep it quiet". Why?.

Maybe you know it is not approved and you don't want the genie out of the bottle and your new found way to make profits will to dry up. That points to professionalism?

The real truth is the few who have been touting this, don't want tons of members starting to do it as they know if this happens Google and Yahoo will surely notice.

I don't care at all if some do arbitrage. I just think a heads up is in order for the domainer who is in domaining for the long run to not ruin their chances for success. I have been a sceptic of arbitrage to parked pages since day one. Arbitrage is for real websites folks, no matter what the parking providers say, they are still a parked page.

Some here have been saying, " what difference does it make, you are sending them quality traffic". You are a domainer, your perception of your ideal parking business plan does not matter to Google or Yahoo. What matters is what they say.

I just care that this pattern will not encourage newbies or others to jump on the bandwagon and start doing it and then get hurt by it. The hurt is a big hurt. You will get BANNED for life.

He originally posted he was banned for arbitrage, but when they posted the actual notice, it was for an ad or landing page violation. There are no hard and fast Google rules against arbitrage. MSN is starting to disallow it, and I don't know Yahoo's official position because I've heard different things from different people. Google prefers not to ban it outright, but to make it difficult to near impossible because of Quality Score issues.

The single thing that is most likely to affect arbitrage is that in the very near future, Google (and the probably Yahoo and MSN because they always follow the leader) will make available to the advertisers just where their ads are being displayed on domains. Right now they can see where the ads are showing on the Content Network, and block by site, but all the parked domain sites get lumped together, or are part of the Search Network, so they can't be excluded.

Once this transparency is given to the advertisers, they will see which parked domains convert, and which don't, and they will be able to restrict their ads from being displayed on some or all parked domains.

This is will be great for some domainers, and a disaster for others. Maybe for most.

I think the market is going to decide what happens with arbitrage, rather than any hard and fast pronouncements from the search engines or parking companies.

If they're going to ban arbitrage they better do it across the board. IE: The big arbitrage players. eBay, Shopping.com (all of the e-com portals). If you don't make it wrong for both the big and little guys then I believe you would be getting into some anti-trust (unfair competition) issues. There are some people who are making serious (although not eBay, Shopping.com level spending) money that if arbitrage was banned for all but the elite they would have the money to make a big legal stink.

If the traffic is quality then it shouldn't matter. I think that well run arbitrage networks (that have quality content) actually provide better search results then just straight search listings.

And direct navigation networks (9 out of 10) are garbage and don't offer up anything but links. Hopefully the marketplace and the engines will wake up to this.

Grey and black hat arbitrage has got to go. It's click fraud. Run your business ethically and you should be fine.

I agree that if banned it should be fair across the board. Plus almost everything that Google or Yahoo states is against Tos, Ebay does, lol.

lets combine ideas and creat a way on how to monitize our domains without violating terms . I think Two heads are better than one head,
