Please take a look at eBay Item # 2739237830
0T.NET for sale.
To me it looks like a scam, but I may be wrong (I didn't contact the seller).
Thanks.
Mike

seller has a zero rating - that is a red flag

You should always be careful on eBay, especially if a seller has a zero feedback rating. However, I did a little bit of research on this domain name and on the seller. The seller is registered in the Netherlands and that is also where the domain was registered. Additionally, the seller has a few other domain names for sale on eBay and the whois information for all of them seems to be the same. You should use your best judgement and if you don't feel comfortable then avoid the seller.
Just my 2 cents (and my first post!)

Welcome.
That was worth at least $2 (not 2 cents). Thanks for the breakdown of your methods.

IMO
make your judgements carefully
but dont overjudge
just becuase someone has 0 feedback doesnt meen they are a scam, Hey we all started out with 0 feedback right?
how would you feel if everyone and i meen EVERYONE didnt bid on your auctions or took your bid off there auctions so you couldnt get any feedback? you would never get feedback
sometimes you need to do some investigation or take chances
eg: email the seller asking if you can use escrow.com or the seller transfer the name first as you are weary off ebayers with 0 feedback, most of the time they will agree to it if they are a real true ebayer that does legit sales, if not just dont bid , or take the chance.

just my 2 NP$

I'm not much of an Ebay'er, but the thread here is a very *worthy* one, IMHO. My general suggestion would be to also research carefully other domains that a seller may own, checking WhoIs what have you ... and to contact the seller with any potential questions. Do your homework, as Light here has wisely offered ... be honest and professional!
NP$'s all around, and have a GREAT holiday weekend. :)

I would research it..especially if he/she has zero feedback.

See if the seller has any other domains/items on sale currently, and determine it from that ^^ I'm not too experienced with eBay, but it should help a bit.

I personally don't trust Ebay too much. You get some real crazy people on there... *shakes her head*

I think you should contact them.

Yes, there are some crazy people on ebay, but you can't handle that, its out of your hands :) The best you can do is hope to talk with sane people ;)

I believe 0t.net dropped recently (i was after it). UltSearch dropped it, so the domain probably was grabbed by a reseller. So it wouldnt surprise me if the person is legitimate. But as stated above, be careful and research it a bit.

Yah, fraud seems to be growing on ebay as of late. Ive been a member for about 2-years and Ive seen the quality of sellers and bidders drop a bit recently. Lets just say I wont be buying my next computer from ebay after my expierence last october. I got ripped and it pisses me off. (MyJackRabbit.com ripped me).

I would be weary and do a little research. Normally people will bid on auctions to get feedback before selling so they become a little more trustworthy, eBay has started cracking down a bit more on frauds especially when payment is through paypal, so I am pretty sure either way you are set. This newbie seller seems to be legit though. It's really up to you :)

As an unrelated follow-up, this ebay auction with the following title
THE BMW WEBSITE DOMAIN NAME FOR SALE N/R!!
is a lame attempt to cheat people.
I think this gives a bad reputation to honest domain vendors.....:(

In response to what Mike posted about this second auction, which I have quoted below, I just have to say that I am disgusted by that seller and what he is trying to get away with. The sad part is that the seller has a 100% positive feedback rating! However, checking the feedback more closely, I noticed that all of that seller's feedback comments were acquired from buying and not selling. So apparently that seller has never been a seller before. THAT could definitely be a red flag.
While we're on the topic of eBay scams, I have another story... I'll post it tomorrow after a good night's sleep (it's quite late now!) For now I'll just say that I think I have learned quite a bit about eBay in the past 6 years that I have been a member and I'm happy to share what I know :)

The good news is that ebay has cancelled the auction. Someone must have complained  :hehe:
