The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Starting to have second thoughts about them...I've now sent a third email trying to convince them my failed registrations were NOT renewals. They're trying to charge me a restore fee? :bah:

Use these guys!

I cannot say enough about how good DomainSite has been to me. They don't send you ridiculous ad-emails all of the time like GoDaddy and their prices are great. Their support is somewhat slow, it took more than a few hours for them to get back to me, but in the end run their support was extremely helpful and the wait was worth it. They accept Paypal also.

You should at least register one domain with DomainSite, you won't regret it.

Cheap, but weird menu structure

Domainsite.com is great, but I had a little bit of trouble with their menus. It's not that they are bad, more that I have seen much better ones on godaddy and dreamhost.

Domainsite

They provide cheap domain names but the interface is a bit difficult to use...

Pretty cool :)

I've been with this company for awhile now and I haven't gotten into any serious problems. The registration is quick and easy and transferring is pretty smooth.

Review

Price is great, especially for .in and co.in, which you can buy privacy service for 50 cents for those extensions. You will know that not many registrars offer privacy for .in and .co.in, and of those that do, you will have to shell out nearly $5. So, for that reason alone, domainsite is highly recommended.

Support - email support is slow and you receive a seemingly automated response that kind of is related to your problem, but in no way does the response help you with the problem. So, basically you are forced to call in, and each time I called, the phone was answered quickly ( not toll free) and once I was talking to someone, the problems were resolved.

Interface, kind of old looking, but who cares, it works and it's fast.

They have loads of tld's to choose from and I am glad I found them. The price is what sets domainsite.com apart from all the rest!

I find domainsite to be a very good registrar. Very fast dns refresh. Great prices and they accept paypal! I will be with them forever. No other registrar compairs.

Good pricing but poor interface

i find it a good registrar with support and pricing etc. but the interface is too poor and hard to use, but i recommend for web hosting services because of low pricing structure.

Low cost, easy to use

I've never had trouble with DomainSite as far as customer service or issues with my domains. They helped a lot in transferring some important domains from Registermate during that fiasco. They have excellent prices and I like the ease of transfer to another party. Some have criticized the interface, but I like the non-flashy one as it works in Opera very well versus GoDaddy/Wild Wild West's new system. It's simple and straight forward to me.

My only complaint with them concerns their internal DNS servers, which have gone screwy a few times for as long as an hour at a clip, even affecting their own site, as well as ours. This has happened 3-4 times in a year and a half which I guess isn't terrible, but it's still not good.

Frequent Errors; Untrustworthy.

Faulty programming, that causes errors in the databases (out of sync with who is data; and scrambles whois data between their customers; and expiration data). Espacially bad if you have sub-accounts. Sales and support have lied to me regarding giving me a credit when they make mistakes and lost some names, but never actually sent the credits. Their errors cost me a number of domains. They applets still screw up data under certain circumstances. Even the whois data has been scrambled by them at times. NOT recommendable. I once had 800 names with them, but down to a few hundred, and getting them all out (except for the few .ws ones that will always be stuck there).

Love it!

I totally love this Registrar. Really easy system and the Name Server tool is so easy to use and WhoIs Privacy for 50cents is really really good

I totally disagree with you. I love this interface here. Is way better than the Godaddy interface in many ways.

They are down now :(

Simply Fantastic. A+.

I have been a loyal DomainSite customer for years. Their prices and simple design make the site simply the best registrar available. Domain registration is literally a two step process. PayPal is accepted as a payment method so that is always a bonus. The layout is VERY simply to navigate and everything you need to know is laid out right in front of you. GREAT for domain resellers. Domains can be pushed in two seconds immediately to another member. I transfered 16 domains to DomainSite recently and every one of them went through absolutely flawlessly in less than four days (transfer requested on the 26th of January, all domains transfered on the 30th). Customer support CAN be a BIT slow but they never fail to answer questions fully. No "predefined responses" like you find at other registrars.

Awesome.

database errors; untrustworthy re: committments

Database gets errors in it. Customer service commitments not met.

Stay away from them > "Nobody at home"

Stay away from them. If you have any problem they will not help you. They will stop answer for your mails.

Normally they send very kindly answers, because you pay for them. You think good prices, that is ok. But when it is any problem, they start to lie, "later, later", after a month or later they stop answer for your mails. Even they don't answer if they still alive. Nobody at home. You can do nothing.

Forget about them. Imagine you would like to transfer your domains, but no answer, like a wall, you would lost your domains at the end.
