Recommend a Host?

I'm hoping some of you more seasoned webmasters might be able to help me on this.

I'm looking for a reliable, well established and reasonably priced web host, for share hosting only, with the following specifications.

-At least 5g storage space
-At least 250g bandwidth
-Unlimited MySQL databases
-Unlimited parked and hosted domains
-Unlimited e-mail and ftp accounts
-php 4.3.1 minimum
-phpMyadmin
-Password protected directories
-Unlimited subdomains

Its important that this is a well-established company, as I have a feeling that some of the problems i've experienced are due to dealing with amateurs; and with the projects I am working on, I do not want to be conducting business in this way.

If anyone can recommend a host for me, that'd be greatly appreciated, as i'm having zero luck finding one that meets my needs.

I ordered a server off iHosty and it was up fast. I also got discounts on a template and clientexec. If your thinking of getting shared, reseller or dedicated hosting then go with iHosty. Best host ever!

how many domains can you host with the "shared" plan for ihosty.com?
It says 10 subdomains, but how many regular domains?

I suggest
Shared hosting - Hostgator or iHosty (I see a lot of their funs here)
Reseller hosting - resellerzoom or ahosting.biz
Dedicated server - server4you.
But first of all you have to choose one way to go with. I think that the best solution will be go with reseller or dedicated server. (My IMO)

Make up your mind as for choosing resellers or dedicated, which should be based on the budget, server management skills and the number of clients you intend to take on your server. You've been recommended reputable companies, I like ahosting.biz and polurnet.com resellers offers.

I have accounts with six different hosting companies, and have tried many others. hostgator is great, so is knownhost

contrary to other posters, I have had numerous problems with polurnet...they are a source of constant frustration...

Perhaps if you elaborate your problems via PM, we can take a look what you are referring to. You're the first out of literally thousands, so doubt your story can hold validity without further info.

PolurNet - I’m sorry, but PMs would just be a re-hash of a number of frustrating email threads that already have proven to accomplish nothing.

In the spirit of keeping on topic, I will further detail why I believe hostgator is a professional, reliable hosting service that would certainly fill your needs, siradio:

Support phone number – not just email. If you have popular income producing web sites that go down, you will want to get the issue resolved in minutes not days. I have had only a couple of issues with hostgator in the last two years and those were resolved very quickly.

Cpanel and WHM load very quickly with no warnings about bad security certificates

Hostgator sends no automated spam about billing or threats about suspending your account days before an automated payment is due. When you are on automated payment, you hear nothing from them at all - as it should be.

Perhaps most importantly, Hostgator does not require you to spend lots of valuable time reading their forum for important announcements; if there is planned downtime or something serious like a nameserver change that would take your site down, they send you an email warning you ahead of time so you can plan around it. Of course with hostgator, this has only happened once in two years.

There are many other reasons why hostgator and others are top quality services that are geared toward professional or serious hobby webmasters (I could go into a lot more detail). It mostly comes down to respecting your time and putting the control of your site in your hands. siradio, if you believe your time is valuable I suggest you go with a host that values your time the same way you do.

Could you at all provide some sort of insight to the problems you have had with PolurNet? From what you have said, you've just given negative feedback -- without saying why. It doesn't provide much help to others that may purchase hosting from PolurNet.

Well, without knowing who you are, it's hard to see what you are referring to. No open tickets are to be seen, and so far any tickets that have passed through the helpdesk have been answered in a timely manner even during holiday hours. Thus, I still don't know what "frustrating email threads" is being talked about.
