eNom Domain Transfer >> Additional Year not added!?!?

Hi,

Yes, it also happened to me a few months back when I transferred a few of my domains from 'Register.com' to one of eNom registrars. They didn't add additional year to my expiry dates despite of charging 'Transfering Fee'. It's almost a common policy of most of the registrars that they don't add year to expiry date if transfer is done 'Within 45 Days' of registration or renewal.
(DN registration Agreement terms and conditions are like the 'Terms & Conditions' of an insurance policy which we never read unless we need a claim to be launched.)
IMHO, please take it just as an 'Experience' to be in 'THIS' business.... otherwise I don't expect that you'll get another year extension (means the benefit of fee)..... If you still keep on trying, you'll be wasting your precious time, in addition to all the tension you'll bear.

This is true for com and net. This is more of a verisign issue. The registry DOES refund the fee to the gaining registrar so enom did get refunded. You have to write them to request a refund.

News to me. When did this start happening?

Guess I won't be transferring any more into eNom.

Is it just me, or is eNom becoming less & less "reseller friendly"? It seems they are forgetting "who" is and might soon to be "was" the total foundation of their biz.

They hide behind their respective emails as well…this is a common occurrence when sending email to eNom

I have noticed the same thing. I will say their support is much slower than a year ago. I do not know if it is attributed to their growth or they have reduced staff

Yes, please expand on this.

I thought this was the case also, until I transferred a domain right after renewing it and it had an extra year added. The gaining registrar was not Enom btw.

Right, so then eNom should be giving their customers the $6 back. Instead, it seems they are purposely withholding their customers money...

Of course, enom will only refund it if you rant and rave otherwise they pocket the money. Can you imagine how much money they make a year doing this?

So this domain was transferred into eNom after it was already expired at the previous registrar?

I do not think it is possible to transfer an expired name

I didn't think so either, but what do you gather from the icann.org notice linked above?

I think they are proposing the registry will auto-renew names as they come up for expiration. The registrar will either accept the renewal or delete the name and receive a credit. It seems like a ploy to improve verisigns cash flow and make life harder on the registrar.

The domains did not expire and were in good standing prior to the transfer to eNom.


The good news is that eNom added the additional year to the domains in question. Case closed...
