Y'all don't know what you are missing using 3rd party parking pages (since you can't see the hit logs)

 thrills and chills!

An "interesting" domain I speculated on at the start of the year, self-parked, gets some *very* interesting type-in sources.

I always get curious when an IP doesn't resolve so I do zone lookups.

Six different law firms in six days this month, yikes.
(no it's not a trademark violation to my knowledge)

We need a "nervous" smiliey cause this doesn't cut it :guilty:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
LOL! And it's not a domain for the legal field?

Nope, not even remotely.

It's a multiword domain, and Microsoft owns the single word for years now without using it (there is no microsoft product with this name in existance or development to my knowledge)

I would be scared if I were you hahaha!
Perhaps they might be interested in purchasing the domains?? hahah, did you check archive.org to see what the domain was used for before??

It's a fresh registration, no previous owners.

Well worst that can happen is they take the domain away from me.

I'm still waiting for a contact. I figure they contact you at least once before they sue you. :notme:

You cant get sued for owning a domain, the most that can happen is that they go to WIPO court and to fight about the domain.

If you dont care then the domain will just be transfered.

Well technically that's not correct. You can be sued for owning and misusing a domain (especially with new laws last year).

But I am not doing anything (yet) with it.
I'm not incredibly worried, just very wierded out.

Other visitors included Maxtor (hard drives) and a large newspaper.

It's occured to me that maybe it's just the people who work there browsing on their own free time, and then telling their friends who also happen to work at similar companies.

Yeah, maybe you'd feel more comfortable PM it to us so we can better give advice?

I don't mean to be a tease with all this but I've learned from another experience last month not to go into too much detail about some things, such talk is impossible to "undo".

In any case, my point was a small discussion on self-parking vs. other parking solutions like afternic and sedo. When you self park you can see who is looking in more detail to help solicit offers, but of course sedo and afternic can pay you for clicks.

Does anyone make decent money off such 3rd party parking? I think the leads are more valuable to me.

What is self-parking? How do you go about it?

:bingo:

Very true... others should think about this as I've seen a few things posted in the past and said to myself, " Why the heck are they sharing this info with everyone "

I PM'ed a few Members and told them to politly zip it :) I think most of us here are good people but there are certainly shady people hidding in the shadows... lurking about...
