Hey guys/girls, if I want to point names with traffic to an existing website, is there one method better than the other? For instance is changing nameservers or doing a url forward w/masking best. Both the same?

Thanks in advance. :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
"URL Forwarding"/Redirect or "URL Frame" (masking) are a bit different. The former will leave the destination URL in the broswer, the latter will put in the originating URL in the browser (thus "masking" the destination address). Both will have the same effect on traffic/final stop, but with "URL Frame" one can strategically use the different URL's/Titles to then optimize in the S/E's.
Depends on what you're trying to accomplish, or any use of S/E's for traffic puposes, IMHO.
I just use Enom (both require parking on Enom's DNS), am sure a SEO specialist can add more value here.

Thanks CH. Glad you mentioned Search Engine. That was another question I was saving for later. As-long-as the potential customers end up at my site, mission accomplished. Does framing have an effect on S/E placement and how would one go about maximizing ranking? Would I submit framed URL to search engine I suppose? I didn't think you could do that because of the way the spider's work? Hmmm.

Thanks

Hmmmm. Spiders are not my forte!
Let's see what the "S/E Pros" have to say. :tu:
