I thought I was the only one who might ended up snapping it but some guy is on it too and I dont want him to keep increasing the price for the domain like he is already doing. I stop messing with him.

Whats a good tactic to win a auction on snapnames.com? I really really want this domain but I dont want it to be way too much. I bet its those buydomains.com devils and I know if they win it, they might put it there for couple of thousands.

whats are some good tips or tactics to win a domain that you and someone are in a auction to win it? I will definately stay up and mess with it until the last 1min before making my next bid. I'm just happy its just me and him

you say it....the last offer win.
Can't think anything else, sorry, except a script like that put an automated offer for you but, if the other guy would use a similar tool then I don't know .

you can use these custom-maded scripts .. or you can make a high bid and see what he does about it

i mean dont go too high ... just offer how much you can afford :)

Pay more than the other bidders.

unfortunately a public auction is capitalism at its best... there's no strategy, what I usually do is wait and bid 5min before auction close.. There is no point in bidding the first 48h in fact it's pointless.......

Wait until about 5 minutes left in the auction, then put in your bid. Once you put in your bid, the auction will be extended. Hopefully, you will be able to outbid the guy and he will not be watching the auction.

In other words, do not bid any higher until time is almost gone in the auction.

Very good most exalted one.

I am so poor from renewing a bunch of names which start coming due in the next couple months. I couldn't outbid anyone on anything.

Am having troubles getting used to your new avitar.

Last man standing wins... no strategy, just exhaust your life savings until you, like hark and me, can on longer outbid anyone on anything. :D

This is actually a good thing, since even the 800lb gorillas will find their massive war chests depleted like drops in the ocean after each day. There are at least 200 good names to exhaust your money on each day, you just need to pick the other 29,800 that nobody wants to pay more than a dime and a nickel for.

Bid last minute and bid the absolute highest you are willing to pay to let the proxy bidding take over.

All it takes though is one bidder to bring the domain so high that one cringes.
and that one bidder may be an imposter, it has been found before
and is highly likley that within the stytem are viruses to exploit
they hide themselves with well cloaked names and ip addresses
pretentious masters at their own game.
The bidding arena is riddled with mazes to jump through, these registers know all about you, the executives of registers are schooled domain holders themselves and use their pawns to get whatever they desire and within reach......and they def. have the upper hand, ...
Ones own intuition and forsight are the tools that need to be used to win against them,
These registers know you habbits maybe even your bank account numbers, they are given access that would blow your mind ......how much you make a year ect ect they know what you search for and probobly what your willing to spend, the internet eyes are sharp as a razor and the registers are the keen adapts of the old thought school... if they can you will be taken for as much as they can get....

The best tactics is not to bid high...
Usualy you'll pay more than you planed cause you are want this domain so much...

Last 5min, I will bid $501 and if he out bid that then I guess I will let him have it :( . I just hope its not snapnames trying to increase the price for it because I have seen stories of these backorder companies doing that.

Is that guy 'halveraz'? He seems to be there most of the time on my names, and I operate in a very specialized niche.

make it 150 np$ for his head !! just kidding !

No tactics are going to be much use I think - Just hope he has'nt got deeper pockets than you :td: You're very lucky if you're just bidding against one person.

What's his bidding name ?

I don't think he is, lia. He seems to be into PPC, and registers some really far out names. This list I copied and pasted from bobdigital's experience over at the other forum. Interesting to see the trends...

I think I've found who is Halvarez... It could be Domainqueue.

Somebody in another domain forum has seen 2 domains which Halvarez backordered and I've checked the whois of it...

Its not no halvarez character. he won one auction I was in and it was a silly forum domain. I think he won it because out of all the bidders that was going for it, he had the highest bid. its someone with some weird chinese name and from what I notice, what most chinese people do is park their domains and make money off it and I dont want this domain to be parked. If I can't win it, I would at least want someone who will make it a productive site win it. If this person is really chinese then he have no business owning or usign this name he trying to win because its not a name that will interest him. I dont want to say his name maybe he's here but it start with a W. Go figure
