FOR SALE: LED.info
Registered at: Godaddy.com
Expiration Date: 27-Nov-2015
Price: Send Offers

To appreciate the value of LED.info you may wish to take into consideration past sales of similar 3 character .info domain names. For example, here are some past sales reported at namebio.com:
ceo.info $32,500 USD 2008-11-04
seo.info $21,930 USD 2009-04-23
kpn.info $15,000 USD 2011-03-10
etp.info $12,500 USD 2011-08-25

As a search term "LED" is more popular than all the above four according to google trends.

Even country level extensions of LED domains are in demand, for example, LED.ch was reported as sold in 2011 for 10,000 Euros
Leds.in also sold for $7,818

LED.info is also the only one of the 4 major global extensions with "LED" that is currently available for purchase, so this really is a very rare opportunity. The .com, .net, and .org domains with "LED" are already owned by LED companies.

With thousands of companies that could benefit from this name, this domain may not be available for long. I have turned down many offers in the past, but I am currently more motivated to sell.

LED technology is already a multi-billion dollar global industry! And still growing fast.

Please send offers via private message, or email listed on the domains landing page.

I have had 5 figure interest for LED.info from end-user in the past, wasn't interested at the time. Now interested in a quick sale, and willing to consider "reseller" price level offers for this gem that will shine brightly in any domain portfolio!

Think your BIN is too high to be honest. If you've had plenty of offers you would of sold this by now and if your looking for more I doubt you'll get top dollar for it here. Most people resellers Etc. IMO

Thank you for the message, the BIN price and the price at which I would seriously consider selling may be significantly different. So everybody that has asked me for BIN feel free to make an offer. Most people ask for BIN, but don't make an offer.

The domain was appraised in 2005 here in the namepros appraisal section:
http://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/149433-led-info.html

7 years ago, a decent portion of the appraisers said the domain was worth $X,XXX. Some said the higher end of the range, some said the lower end.

I think the value should have increased since then due to an increased interest in LED technology.

Anyway, I agree I might get a much better price if marketing it to end-users. But at the moment, I am very willing to consider offers here in the forum that are more inline with reseller prices.

Sounds like you've done your research indeed, I'll let some more experienced users take over at this point but what I would say is that many domain prices which were appraised years ago for $xxxx can now be worth $0.

(Don't worry yours is Definitely not! ) but what I'm saying is that the market is very different to that of in 2005, where many domains were riding off the dot.com boom. This means that even though there's a renewed or gained interest in 'led' it may have decreased in value since due to market condition and demand.

With technology the way it is right now though I doubt you're going to have a problem selling this domain.

Good luck. !

Thanks, just did a search on "Google Trends" for terms: led light, led lighting, led lights, buy led.

All of them had more than doubled in search volume since 2005.

Interestingly the searches for "Buy LED" have grown about 600% in search volume since 2005.

I expect interest to continue to grow.

This domain would be a great one for a developer.

I'll provide you some opinionated input from the end user perspective, as i was one of the people who messaged you asking the BIN.

The price you provided was unreasonable in my opinion, so i did not consider it worth my time to make a counter offer and I felt as though i would have been insulting you by offering what i believe to be a reasonable purchasing price (being a reseller myself), so i did not make a counter. I do have interest in the domain, but not at the price you're probably comfortable letting it go for - and the reason is exactly as somebody mentioned - most of us here are resellers.

It may not hurt to ask for an updated appraisal in the appraisal section, you can always edit out the domain later from the original post to protect the history in the future, and when high value domains come on the forum, the appraisers usually go all out, looking for comps, PR, background/history, searches etc. You'd probably get some good useful information - although i don't know that it would be of any help to you, since your mind is likely set on a price you're willing to accept.

Be mindful, a 600% increase in search volumn in 7 years is really, really low :/ Still, there is no debate the domain name is superb and the extension fits the second level domain (well, depending on development).

You definitely have a gem here, but unless you're looking for quick money, you're really going to want to seek out the end user to get the results you're looking for. It's really unlikely the customer is going to approach you with the price you want.

I wish you luck, stick with it if you have the time and you'll come out where you want to be :]

Thank you for the feedback. I am not a reseller myself, but more of a developer, have only every sold perhaps 2 domains. So I come from more of a developer mindset. I originally bought this to develop myself, paid 4-figures for it back then years ago. I think the current BIN is very reasonable for a serious developer.

I guess my current BIN is also reflective of the interest I have received over the years, including some serious 5-figure interest from one particular LED company. Wasn't ready to sell back then.

Anyway, when I get some time I will probably do some end-user marketing, until then all serious reseller offers are more than welcome :)

Special BIN extended to end of 2012.

P.S. Just noticed in the recent sales ticker at the top of Namepros.com the sale of kwb.info for 5,000 Euros, which equates to about $6,600 USD

LED as a 3 characters is much more popular than KWB, therefore LED.info should be much more valuable.
