Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Maybe it has something to do with either inreview OR just the spreadsheet structure. Do you see a working domain with your desired config (maybe different floor or whatever pricing) in downloaded spreadsheet? Without excel, just notepad and .csv file as text - the workable structure would be better readable then.
Ohhhhh. OK! I'm an idiot. I assumed that the downloaded excel sheet is in the same format that's needed to upload an excel sheet with listings. It isn't. So basically uploading it results in those domains being added with those values that I mentioned. Thanks @tonyk2000!

@GoDaddy: I think it would be helpful if downloaded excel spreadsheets would have the same format that's needed to upload listings to afternic.

There is an annoying error at the very onset of adding new domains to Afternic. (I'm not big on using the spreadsheet method.)

The notation indicates to press the space bar between names to bulk upload.

NO! You must press the return key before adding another domain.

Can this be corrected please?!

@James Iles (or whoever's appropriate).

I would recommend write information for parking users if You not accept new users just mention it on news or something. Becouse everyone who make new account and even get e-mail about parking approval. Have issue with blank pages no ads display. (even support have problem with that).
So how it looks step by step.
1.Register on afternic
2.Add information to account (adress, name payee etc)
3.Adding domains
4.Accept all rules etc.
5.we geting e-mail that we are approved for parking (in this moment it should work)
6.all domains that we add are blank pages (expect if domain was before on afternic and displayed ad, but in this specific case domain not count any stats so 0 views, 0 clicks).
7.contact support
8.get luck and someone help you or not.

Somebody tricked me by (Afternic listing) listing the domains I own, and took advantage of a mistaken click to the email sent to me by AfterNic partner domain registrar. They are trying to steal my domains through Afternic and also GoDaddy (the domain is also listed in Godaddy) .. and AfterNic does not respond to my emails. and Forms that I filled up.

Unfortunately, the fake listings are a problem Afternic appears to be unable to solve at this time.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this trouble. Hopefully, their customer support will help resolve it. It's sad, though, that there are too many instances where other sellers are allowed to post names that either others own or aren't even registered.

Hopefully, we will see the underlying issue corrected soon.

There are 3 things I have learned so far ..
1) AfterNic support had responded to some petty issue in the past, within an hour. In this case, unfortunately not.
2) I know the ID who has listed my domains after putting the offer.
3) Putting the offer was not easy job. I had to log out, register offer, and log in.

@GoDaddy @James Iles

There is something seriously going wrong in Afternic.
They are not receiving some of my payments.

During the last week, I bought six domains. 3 out of 6 payments never appeared in Afternic.
The payments were completed normally from my side. I even kept the order confirmation, because the same problem has happened to me before.

It’s been some days now and I have received no email from them. No received and no other confirmation.
Also, the domains I bought are still listed in Afternic.

depending on the registrar you may be able to revoke the fast transfer authorization right from your control panel (Dynadot, Porkbun, maybe others). Any registrar may actually do this for you (manually).

It was NameCheap Marketplace 'only'. I had done some social marketing after that. Somebody succeeded in making me click that link. NameCheap support says do not worry. But the blue label of fast transfer is still there.

I know the ID who has listed my domains after putting the offer.
That's progress. So hopefully Afternic would be reponsive to not only removing the fake listings, but also the unscrupulous seller.

If it's any consolation, they might be having some progress on dealing with the renegade sellers. On my last spot check of unregistered domains for sale on AN, it was down from 20% to 15%. Perhaps progress, albeit slow....

Is Afternic now using AI for support services? Perhaps that would explain the lack of accurate responsiveness here overall? If so, clearly needs some tweaking.

Honestly, I find it quite disturbing.
They can not understand simple questions.
I may not be a native English speaker, but wtf?!?!

Perhaps you could email back to ask for a supervisor to help at this point.

In my experience, Afternic support was usually responsive to the actual questions.

There's a possibility that this is a specific worker there who is having challenges grasping the actual customer issue. If it's not AI, then a supervisor hopefully could help not only you but also other customers in the future?

No, that's an other funny part.
In this email sequence, I received answers by 2 different persons, plus the Transaction Assurance team (?)

They stated in the past that the usual response time is within 48 hours. In my most recent experience, it was 4-5 days.

Development so far,
The perpetrator declined my offer and riased the amount to 1000 USD for each domains.
Next morning, I wake up to read an email from GoDaddy staff (they own Afternic afterall) suggesting me to buy these domains (which is still in my NameCheap domain lists) through Afternic.
Now, hold my beer.
I do not want to say that GoDaddy has been (un)knowingly supporting the domain thieves for the sake of their business.
Rightful owners will fight to the moon and back, they must know.

Wow! You apparently have proven a very important point here. Even unintentionally, domain front running is being not only condoned but also even promoted by GoDaddy.

Since you prior post, I did some more searches on the internet about this issue. Afternic and Dan have apparently both been well aware of this problem for years. It has not been corrected.

Afternic, when will this stop?

Seriously, folks. You have a great track record for sales, and a tremendous following. Do you really need to have fake listings and domain front runners spoiling your service? Between unregistered domains and unscrupulous sellers posting other people's domains, can't you do something IMMMEDIATELY about this?

Please, Afternic, fix this---for the sake of the GoDaddy Brand, legitimate sellers with listings on your platforms, and buyers that want to have trust in your company and help your business thrive for many years to come!

And, for @dipesh365, hopefully this is the last time you will have to deal with this issue.

This story above is exactly why I don’t use fast transfer and get furious when yet another scammer lists my long held names or recent hand registered.

Every registrar should have a decline fast transfer request. As far as I know NameSilo is the only one that you can actually decline by button.

They don’t ban these guys by IP or anything because it just keeps happening over and over.

So if I get the story right someone else got paid AND got the domains and Afternic is doing nothing but suggest you buy them back?

Did you or did you not get paid for the domains in question? How were you tricked into clicking Fast Transfer? Had you just done some?

My (domain specific records altered in this forum) story as I explained to Mohammad Khan (AfterSales Department GoDaddy) earlier this morning

Dear Mohammad Khan
GoDaddy/Afternic Team

With a heavy heart, I am hereby telling you my story regarding two of my domains listed illegally by somebody in Afternic. I hope that you will read my story and take action against the person who listed my domains.

1. I own these domains 12L dot com and 14L dot com at NameCheap. Of course, I wanted to sell these, hence kept in NameCheap Marketplace and also did social marketing in Facebook groups. (Please see screenshot 1 file attached here.)

2. It is most likely that these domains came to the notice of the this person and added my domains illegally in Afternic which I was not aware of.

3. One day, I got a plain email from NameCheap that the domain is listed in Afternic and I needed to click something for fast transfer. Honestly, I must say, that I thought that NameCheap could have become proactive in domain selling and listed on Afternic. I clicked the link and agreed to terms in NameCheap. This is where I fall. (Please see screenshot 2 file attached here.)

4. It was only through NamePros community, and also some blogs with such a negative experience of other people with potential (or successful) domain stealers, I was made aware.

5. I registered with AfterNic and tried to list my sellable domains (using my current email address). To my surprise, I could add other domains than these 2: 14L dot com and 12L dot com. These were already listed with somebody.

6. I was in panic, because I know that of somebody buys these domains from this person, I would lose my domains.

7. I contacted Afternic support through contact form and also email. No response yet.

8. I also tried to offer 20 USD for my own domain (through Afternic) .. then the system made me aware of the username of the perpetrator. It is __________. This person took good time to decline my offer and raise the amount to 1000USD per each domain. Where are ethics and religious belief these days on this planet earth? An ethical human being would not do such deeds.

9. Now, I am getting email from GoDaddy official who suggests me to buy my own rightful domain through Afternic with BuyNow priced listed by the one who does not actually owns the domain but succeeded in tricking the rightful owner of the domain.

10. I know that the email sent to me from NameCheap is plain and easy that many would fall victim of. Since, you guys are aware of such things and have been taking action against the unlawful listing of such domains in AfterNic, I would request you to do so. Please help me get these domains removed from this person's list of fast transfer sale. This person could have done such things with other people too. Actually, this person should be banned from GoDaddy/Afternic.

I hope to get a help and proactive measures from GoDaddy/Afternic.
...
Rest is history, Not any response to me so far, though they emailed in less than 4 hours after I had put offer on Afternic (the amount of sleep I got last night) because they (either algorithm, or human) thought that I would buy those domains.

maybe just transfer domains to another registrar and lock transfer.

And I will stick to the thread and be aware of the new problem on afternic that started 2 days ago topic here(last 3 posts or so):
https://www.namepros.com/threads/afternic-problem.1233203/page-2#post-8871151
I mean domains from ns1/ns2 are redirected to the sales page.

- Afternic landers don't resolve if a domain is entered or clicked via https.
Thank you @Recons.Com. We are exploring SSL capabilities for Afternic landing pages.

Based on my experience, Dan provides a good user experience without any complaints. However, I noticed that Afternic's user interface looks outdated, resembling a website from the 90s. Rather than focusing solely on selling commission policies, can you consider revamping Afternic's interface design, particularly for the beta version? The current layout is buggy and terrible from my point of view.
Developmental focus is on Afternic 2.0's dashboard and features, but reinvigorating Afternic's homepage is now on the roadmap. We can't provide specific information at the moment.

Lead details, above other things, do show "GD appraisal" value. Even though I'm not a big fan of these appraisals, or any other automated appraisals, it is known that GD makes this value available to potential buyers if searched on GD homepage. As such, as a seller I'd prefer to know what $$$ appraisal value is shown to my buyers. So, why not to add the column showing this value for all portfolio domains?
This will be fed back to the Afternic team. Thank you.

Thank you my friend. I did, but it's not changing anything.

I'm on mobile, have tried Brave and Chrome. I'll try it on desktop in a bit, but for now I guess it's something weird about my phone. If anyone else has a similar issue I'd really love to hear about it though.
Thanks for the feedback. The Lead Center beta development is ongoing, and mobile support will be added.

Domains related to lead center beta are not visible/responsive via mobile. At least for me, via desktop everything is ok I can enter the leads/domains and see the comments from brokers.
(As above) Thanks for the feedback. The Lead Center beta development is ongoing, and mobile support will be added.

Thanks @forge. From testing this, we don't encounter any errors or issues when using the space bar to add domain names. That being said, we are working on revamping this page.
