Question on Catched.com vs the others

I use ExpiredDomains.net to search for names. When I click on a name that is under the Pending Deletes tab, it shows a link to Catched.com. I've successfully ordered some names there and sometimes they haven't been able to catch them. It works well and it's inexpensive. Happy with it.

But, if it's a name I really want badly, should I also go to snapnames and namejet (and maybe others) to also backorder there? I'm wondering if ExpriredDomains.net is choosing to link to Catched.com only because they have some sort of an advantage with the names ExpiredDomains.com lists?

If it's a name you want badly, backorder it everywhere you can. Good luck!

Add Dropcatch.
Snapnames and Namejet are based on the same platform so choose only one: it could happen that if you are the only one who wants that specific domain and by putting the double backorder (Snapnames + Namejet), you would send it to auction instead of getting it directly

Good point on picking either Snapnames and Namejet.

On an .io name with them, is it just the capture price, or is there also an .io registration fee put on by the registrar (which I suppose I would not know until it ends up at that registrar)?

So I added it at snapnames and catched. I tried dropcatch, but it would not come up there. Do they do .io names?

Dropcatch is the best
the best for .com & .net
.org I'm not so sure. There are also .cc e .tv
The others 2388 TLDs are not supported

catched.com is the best

Catched.com seems to only get the name if no other drop catch services grab it. And for .io, it's WAY too expensive. I always place the order there anyway for non-io names, but it never ever beats dropcatch and namejet/napnames.

Hello everyone,

I've been using catched.com for the past 3 years to capture domains with territorial extensions, and so far, I've had no issues. However, I recently won an auction, and they charged my credit card directly, applying significantly higher fees instead of allowing the option to pay through PayPal, as they did before. The domain was acquired for €499, but the charge amounted to €533.

Despite reaching out to support, I haven't received a clear response. They simply added €25 to my account and apologized, attributing the charges to currency exchange. Honestly, I feel this discourages user participation in auctions. Additionally, I've come across comments speculating about the possibility of auctions being manipulated by bots in this forum. It would be beneficial for catched.com to be more transparent in this regard.

Do platforms like Dropcatch, Snapnames, etc., provide certainty that bidders are genuine users and not bots or fake accounts?

I don't seem to have success with catched.com. Dropcatch.com caught it before others in my experience. But I lost the auction of course as it went for 97k

I tried a lot of Dropcatching services in my life, (long ago), but DropCatch is old school, it's really 100% hit.

be careful with catched.com ... I don't recommend it, I'm having a bad experience.

You'll need to be specific to be helpful.

Catched works well for me. I don't use it for names I badly want, but instead for names I think no one else will likely buy at Dropcatch, Namejet, et al, but also that I want to make sure I can grab before someone else manually does once available.

I agreee. Catched caught a lot of domains for me. Target the right names and you'll find they're an affordable partner.
