Hey everyone,

I've decided to start this thread solely to focus on the growth and use of Web3 Brands that are using "W3" as their acronym +Keyword.

( Note: I am also active in the nft/crypto /web3 space outside of domains, which has broaden my spectrum and pov on many aspects of the space terms lingo and more)....with that said ..this all goes with IMHO /IMO..

I want to be very clear ..."Web3" names are Still wonderful and excellent as it is the "Term" and this is not to knock em, I own many myself, and believe retail buyers will go for both verisons)

(This is Separate form the "Web3"" thread and you should not showcase "web3" names here though please be open to discus names in parallel to it's "W3" counterpart.)

Over the course of weeks I've noticed more a more "W3" brands and sites, Note :
Many are older and have been around awhile do not adhere to Web3..
While many newer sites do....

I will share a list of active "W3" sites that are Web3 branded in W3...First please Note:

I've noticed W3+keyword seem more popular than +W3 ...
Though certain words work and sound great going 1st KeyWord +W3
( Example "AREA51" ..we all now well, sounds as it should, now say 51Area , sounds Rubbish yah) Note: I've noticed some keywords work for both +w3 or w3+ I will share one of my best top as an example ) ...

W3Block.com ( older Dev site, not mine) it works...

Now the reverse
B/l/o/c/k/W/3.com ...........Sounds GREAT/Strong like a W3 ( web3) Blockchain Company! One of my top favorites.

Before I share any more of my names let's talk about active sites, registry premiums, and more....

As noted in a recent DomainWire discussion, If you found your self a SLD that works before a registry makes it premium, you're really in luck...If you find yourself one early when must others you're on to something. Note : hugedomains has been buying many W3+ and has them listed x,xxx -1x,xxx atm.

I've noticed all "W3" + extensions are Premium xxx & x,xxx by the registries. Also a recent sale on Namebio for W3.Art for x,xxx

note: W3 has been used in the past for many things as well as www....it's play in web 3 is different as these new companies look to build in this new digital space....

So let's start there shall we here's a list of Active W3 ( aka web3) sites in emd sld +extension :

On the contrary of this W3 trend, this company that raised a few million in August 2022 is now pivoting their name:

"Web3 Decentralized Storage Company W3 Storage Lab Changes Name to Fog Works"

"The new name better reflects the company’s positioning, has greater brand-building potential, and is more indicative of the company’s vision of being a key builder of Web3 infrastructure, applications, and devices."

Thanks …yes however this Old News …in months ago ……hence why I never shared it and 1 company that made a silly change from IMO ….suffer from brain fog …

The post I’ve been sharing are current events !
I saw it wasn't covered in this thread so I shared it, its less than 2 months old I think. When googling 'w3 web3' you can see it pop up in most recent news as there is not much. I think it's important to showcase both sides of the trend nonetheless.

Silly change is debatable ofc. I don't think W3 has to be used to be recognized as a web3 brand. Kinda like how internet companies nowadays don't need to use the word 'internet' in them as much as they did and are attracted towards brandables nowadays. However it does easily allow your customer to recognize that you are in web3 and not a web2 company, so it has an instant differentiator aspect.

With that being said, I think W3, Web3 and even the number "3" (appended or prepended with branding) are great terms as the space has a lot of room to grow and is not normalized yet. When/if it becomes normalized, I suspect naming trends like this will change. I like analyzing trends like W3, appreciate you starting this thread/showcase 🤝

Also here's a few small projects that you may have missed. Now sure if they are current events but don't think that matters.

WOW! I am so glad I found this site and these posts. Apparently the google crawlers did not like the queries I've been using because I have been asking these questions (web3 vs w3), each and every way, without anything close to this page as results. Aaaand, it seems I have made the right choice going for the TLDs I did. I am in the process of minting them, exchanging them, therefore I cannot disclose what they are until I have them in my wallet, but as soon as I do (a day, two perhaps) I am going to share them. I wonder, should I make a separate post or continue this one? There will be 9 TLDs total. I don't mean domains but actual TLDs, with rights to royalties, should anyone choose to build on them. But

This has been the question I have been asking for the past month, wanting to make sure my guess is on the right side of profit:xf.grin:. I have asked sooo many people and I found out that anyone techie, prefers w3, while those who do not chase technology prefer web3. The very first post I reviewed here has me worried, as it was the opposite of what I am getting here. However, I, myself have been seeing a lot of web3 domains and nearly all (def above 99%) choose w3 over web3. Very interested in getting your guys' opinion on the choices I've made.

If anyone has advice re: where/how I should post them, pls let me know. I want for people to weigh in with their thoughts, criticism, approvals, guesses on how likely or not my tlds to be used, etc.
