After finally posting domains for sale for the first time on Namepros, I realize that one discussion thread that I was unable to find was how to best use the marketplace? Is it better to use the "make offer" section or the "Fixed Price" one? When is the auction a better choice. How frequently is it best to use the "bump? How to effectively strategize the permitted the allotment of active threads permitted per day? How important is it to be flexible with the payment options?

Perhaps there have been threads about it that you could point out. Otherwise, sharing your perspectives and experiences would be greatly appreciated here.

Thank you for the fast reply. Overall, the auctions appear more popular than the "make offer" and "fixed listings."
For "make offer," is there a time frame generally that should be used for finalizing accepting the offers? Have you had more success with this compared to the BIN listing?
Overall, both seem to be a really nice feature on Namepros. It is nice to be able to sell at a lower cost here, simply even by not having to pay the commission fees of the marketplace.

I've only ever conducted auctions (from memory) on NPs and they went OK.

You'll obviously only get reseller/trade pricing here which is fine if you're just moving names on.

Personally I would put a 48hr timer after last bit to end auctions. I've seen auctions with 140 hour end times and it just stops people bidding as it can go on for weeks.

I would think if you make "make offer" listing you're going to get a lot of low balling.

Hi

Don't, use the word Premium in the title.
why?
if they are premium, then no need to say it.
if they aren't premium, then you've made a false claim.

Do, put the domain name and extension in the title of thread.
Don't bump your thread every day.

i only use "make offer" when listing names for sale here and will run a single thread for years,
while only pushing it up once or twice a month.

imo...

That makes sense here. As a point of guidance, if the registrar or marketplaces use that term when you type in the domain name, presumably it's safe to use the premium term?

Hi

Don't bump your thread every day.
Namepros indicates that three bumps a day are permitted, which is really appreciated. If there is an urgent desire to sell quickly, that feature is very welcomed--especially given the large number of postings on the marketplace.

Wasn't it difficult for folks to see your listing when you were pushing it only once or twice a month?

Thanks for the insights, and have a great holiday!

I'm clearing about 500 names per month or so. Can't ever do auctions. No time.

Just mentioning where a limit is, at least for me.

Clearing them through the external marketplaces?

Hi

marketplaces and registrars will use premium to describe domains for sale or that are available to register, but that still does not mean they are premium domains.

as for bumping
when you're bumping 3 times a day, then it shows how desperate you are.
also, if bumping that many times per day, then obviously the domain for sale isn't that appealing.
though i think some of those sellers have expectations that are too high.

for auctions, one may bump more frequently when on a fixed time period, but for other type of sales, in general, i see it as a negative.

if... you're a real, long-time investor and a passive seller, then patience is the essence of the game.

imo...
