In short, overall positive.

I'm going to outline both pros and cons though here.

I started using them over 1 year ago. For the moment I have 1800 names at Cosmotown (out of 5k+)

This registrar has been growing lately, kinda doubled in names from where I started using them.

Please note that minor technical issues can happen, like CC not working sometimes. I use Paypal with them. Edit: and account funds

Price is unbeatable as you can see. Might be useful in such rough times (I admit it's my reason for be in)

Interface works smooth in general. There are still some rough edges here and there in the user panel, such as bulk domain search where you must actually separate domains with comma (gave them suggestions to improve this).

Definitely needs some new features. The basic functions are however already in. Including bulk domain edit added recently (I have asked for that). As far as I know they are actively working on new features.

Tip: On the home page, you have to type something in the search first and not just copy paste, otherwise it will not work. (copy protection thing)

Problems: I had minor technical issues now and then, but got help from support. No significant issues transferring in and out though except with one .ORG domain that might be an issue with the registry in the end. Anyway in this regard I've had about the same experience as with the other registrars I use.

Some perks for larger investors, see the discount thing they just posted.

Service quality / support: In line with cost. See below.

Cons: One has to be aware though that you can't get perfect service for a very low amount, like I said in the past for Sav when they changed interface and everyone was pissed, I chilled and waited for them to fix. Didn't have access to my names at all for 2 weeks at Sav.

Anyway - you need to expect some minor issues here and there, with a bottom cost registrar. With Cosmotown, got issues fixed in 1-2 days max depending on the case.

Pros: Cosmotown support has always helped though. Expecting it to improve with time as they are actively developing and investing right now as far as I can tell. Again be patient and chill - my solution for everything with registrars....

Edit: There is no integration with Afternic Fast Transfer and Sedo MLS yet. Possibly coming in the future, I know they are looking into it.

End note: I know some other users have had their issues, so anyway do your own diligence. I'm only sharing my personal experience so far.

Good luck to everyone and wish you fresh sales soon.

Edit: feel free to comment and post your own experience, good or bad below. Also if there is any question please ask.

Cosmotown is good , I reg several domains there. Simple dashboard , price affordable , especially for .com.

I think that they should add online chat with real time support , like integrate whatsapp to by pass the slow respond. Hope they will join SedoMLS and Afternic DLS / fast transfer to attract new customers / domain investors

I think they're all right. Never was able to find an option to expedite a transfer out which is a con.

Overall, decent enough considering pricing.

Thanks for the review!

Does anyone know if Cosmotown still doesn't allow transfers to be expedited?

Thanks. I was thinking of giving them a try but now I'm not so sure.

As far as I know they are adding it, but it might still take a bit. Which I have seen with other registrars as well re new features but eventually they were there.

It depends what your domaining is about. I have lot of names with them and the transfer time, I don't care that much about that.

I have few domains in Cosmotown. Pricing is very competitive and I didn't have any problem so far. I tend to use Cosmotown when I don't mind not being in the Afternic fast transfer network. For instance, for Squadhelp premium names. However, for the average domain, since Cosmotown is $7.77 and SAV $8.88, isn't it better to pay $1.11 more and get the extra visibility of the Afternic network to boost sales?

It would be a bit annoying that Namecheap, still hasn't become a Sedo MLS partner, yet a registrar I've never heard of are looking into becoming one.
Come on Richard...

Does Namecheap even have bulk search? Cause I never found it. Edit: in portfolio

As of Cosmotown I know they are actively working on new stuff such as a the 2 main platforms integrations mentioned - and other things. But it takes some time and obviously it is not just depending on them to make this ready.

They will definitely announce stuff when ready as far as I can see, communication been better lately on NP.

Maybe.

If your names are good enough, how would that matter? The buyer will want them even if you deliver the name in a container via ship freight.

Edit: there is some advantage of course. It depends on the portfolio... For me as a drop investor buy and renewal prices are quite important.

That's an interesting statement. My portfolio is too small to derive any stats, but I always read here at NP that being in the Afternic fast transfer network significantly boosted sales.

Fast transfer impact (sales boost) is overrated. Price instead, is never underrated.

Some more experienced pros here estimated the fast transfer network sales boost at 1...2%.

And I also concur with that. And therefore, I personally don't care.

I find renewal cost a much, much bigger burden. Also it impacts price. You'd better, in my opinion, get a lower $ burden over your portfolio and reduce prices by 10 % or more. That will have a much greater impact. And this is valid for >90% of the domainers here, unless their domains are always like 5fig+ where it doesn't matter anymore. That's top investors, where the game and rules are quite different.

The only true advantage I really see in fast transfer is easiness of transfer, you don't have to go to registrar, unlock domain, get auth code etc .

Also if you have great names, again, they will wait for them for a week. Or even all through the 60-day lock without a sweat. Have seen this plenty of times already.

Edit: It might have an effect for low-income buyers where they pay $300 on a domain and trembling as that's all the money they have, and worry whether they will get the domain. Getting it fast might be a relief. If this is your target niche, then perhaps yes it does have an impact, although not critical.

In case of serious domains for serious businesses, nah, it doesn't matter. Rather the trust around the process / marketplace is what matters. Think they'll pick another domain because yours doesn't have fast transfer? think again.

Of course. I sold domains held with them.

It is however a standard time of 5 - 7 days to transfer out. Until they add expediting transfer.

Hello sir!, i want to ask something, maybe you all can help me. I'm a beginner in Afternic, almost a week ago I made a domain for sale, and yesterday I got an E-Mail that my domain has been sold. in the E-mail were instructed "Remove all registrar locks from the domain" and "Retrieve the authorization code exactly as provided to you". I am very confused about this, where can I "Remove all registrar lock" on Afternic and get the "Auth-Code" from the domain I am selling?

I was able to move one of my domain names in one day, I contacted them on their live chat, was having another issue, and then also asked the rep to expedite the transfer process. Same-day transfer out, I don't know if this was just one time or if they actually do that if requested.

NO worries. Every time you're new to a place/forum you may not know the rules.

You can start your own thread, by posting your question!

I haven't been able to login to my account on Cosmotown for a month now. It always says "Login Error" and I want @Cosmotown to help me fix this issue.

Have you even tried to create a support ticket?

That's how things are done at Cosmotown.

Side note support tickets are NOT using the same login, you create an support account on Zendesk, check help.
