I am just so stupidly excited!

I put 34 sites on Bodis last night. It's been about 24 hours, and I have made $1.13. This may not be much to write home about, but its $1.13 more than my other sites have made sitting on market places.

I just really needed to tell SOMEONE!!

Wouldn't prompt email notification of the account holder make sense?

1) If the account holder was doing something untoward, then prompt notification that the suspicious activity has been caught might stop the behavior and put them on alert that they shouldn't do that.
2) If the account holder isn't the culprit, this gives the ad-parking company due notice to further investigate promptly, to see if there is some unusual "bot" activity or even some issue with their own software or servers.

The ad-parking company certainly have their own right to decide their own policies and procedures. Nonetheless, the prompt email notification of accounts being closed might help them. There may be instances unrelated to the account holder, where larger, more nefarious trends, might appear. Detecting that activity early on might help their business as a whole, in the long run.
You're very right. But it appears @bodis has too many customers so they don't care.

Well, I'm sorry to hear about your Bodis experience. Be reassured, though, that others, like myself, have seen some really excellent customer service from them. Hopefully, your situation is a reminder to them to at least alert the customer of pending account closure.

****UPDATE***
I thought some people may appreciate an update (or maybe not, lol), but here it is anyway.

Current earnings

July 13th-31st - $2.22
August - $1.59
September - $3.36
October - $4.10
November - $3.68

I have 148 domains (added 7 since last month) 5 are G Faillisted (1 more than last month). Only 8 of them made any revenue (that was 21 last month).

Progress! Thanks for the update.
Did you talk to the ad-parking companies about possibilities for the Faillisted domains? Google has competition in the ad arena, both from Yahoo and Bing. Getting some reasonable earnings from them may still be possible.

I haven’t talked to them, but I know that they still show ads on them

Good. There are definitely other options to Google, and comments here on Namepros suggest that sometimes those alternatives produce even higher revenue.

Are there just a handful that are producing the earnings? Maybe it is time to reassess, and to for the sales more than the ad-parking? Or time for testing out other companies, to see if they can top this?
As for the domains that aren't producing, don't be afraid also to get rid of them rather than renewing them.

yes, its only about a third of them. Some are getting views and no clicks and some are getting nothing at all. My original intentions were that they were bought to develop. I bought some to sell and some for parking and found that I neither managed to sell them or get much in parking. Ill try to sell / drop the ones that Im not intending to develop ( see https://www.namepros.com/threads/8-coms-make-an-offer-messq-com-bincars-com-adzhq-com.1291300/)

November - $3.68
December - $1.66
January - $3.74
February - $2.99

There are 156 domains (they were all added at different times)
Some are getting 1 or 2 clicks, but earning $0c!
34 domains are making 1c and above

I think this experiment is proving that parking is not suitable for my domains and that I will develop my own landing pages / websites on some of them.

Sorry to hear that parking income is so limited at this point. I do sympathize, but am happy that at least the renewal costs of at least a few domains are covered thanks to the income.

Did you ask your ad parking company about why those clicks did not produce any income?

I didn’t because I just presumed that advertisers weren’t paying for those keywords. I’m also double checking (again) that all the domains resolve (as I though I sorted them all, but apparently not) and there are some new names to add and some to remove and work on as sites. It’s a work in progress and learning curve, and yeh, I’ll maybe earn enough to cover 3 renewals, which is better than nothing.

I wish! As you can see from the monthly totals, it will be about 3 renewals a year. Better than nothing though!

Than its not worth it because ,if you have for sale at afternic or sedo and sell through their landers you may pay 20 and 25 percent instead of 10 and 15 percent if you sell without landing ,and you wont have the network of hundreds of partners to see the domains

Hi

i park some names on bodis/sedo and still get sales on the marketplaces or via email.
when/if an interested party lands on the ppc page, they can make offer via the sales banner or link.

by listing your domains on all markets, the chance of a sale is still likely, even when not using that platforms nameservers.

also any commission fee can be absorbed into price on marketplace or you can always ask buyer to pay it when negotiating via email to escrow.com or chatbox @Dan com.

any ppc earned is considered dividends paid from the portfolio, while waiting for next inquiry.

imo....

Hey @biggie do you use the Bodis enquiry form or the afternic enquiry form? The Bodis enquiry form could be helpful to reduce the 25% Afternic commision to 15%, while earning some PPC at the same time. But there are pros and cons.
Most of the sales don't come through nameservers anyway.

Hi

for bodis, i use inquiry form which goes to email.
these can be negotiated and transacted wherever is convenient for both parties.
i typically suggest Escrow.com, unless buyer has other preference, like a marketplace.

though all names are "listed", i only have a couple of them "parked" at afternic, using ns1/ns2 with ppc pages and a "for sale" banner at top of page.
a few are at unireg and when they shut down i may move to afternic ppc.

the rest are pointed to sedo, using ns1/ns2/ns3 and ns4
all domains are listed there too.

imo...

Makes sense.. However, I wanna see how the Afternic's lead center going, now that we can finally see any leads and adapt our nameservers and our prices.

I suggest Bodis sale link pointing to the registrant marketplace. It's a cheap and fast solution.
Of course this means that the domains are hosted on a registrant with markeplace like SAV, Namesilo, Dyandot, Namecheap

Hi

if...
they are really "lead centers" then the commission from any sales originated, should be lower.
what you think?

imo...

Indeed, but they said that they calculate the 25% or 15% at the time of the sale. I would assume that most buyers call Afternic and try to negotiate a better deal. At least that's what happens with me, as my prices are relatively high.
I see the lead, change the nameservers and see the lead progression on the AN centre.
I would assume AN have some follow up system and chase the buyer for a while even if the lead has stalled.
Lastly, its better to trust professional agents to do this job, because they have an effective system and experience. Again, it depends on the agent, but Afternic is kind of monopoly.

So, ive checked all my domains are resolving. They arent :inpain: I swear I checked them all, but I think that the problem is when I transferred the domains to a new registrar. It transferred the NS, but not the records *sigh*.
