Hi Namepros. Wanted to share my recent issue with NameLiquidate / Epik that has been semi-solved (explaining why “semi-“ below). Maybe you could tell who was more right or wrong there.

So, I have occasionally used NL for half year now. Successfullly got rid of a handful of domains. Listing, transfer, funds withdrawal (in crypto) - every time everything went as smooth as possible.

(As a side note, most of my liquidations are now reselling for 2-3k and even listed on Brandbucket - didn’t even submit those because believed they’re no fit lol)

A couple weeks ago one domain went to its only bidder. And I received a usual email from NL:

“Congratulations! Your domain […] has been sold for $50 through Epik's NameLiquidate.com platform. The system will initiate a domain transfer to the buyer's account automatically. NO ACTION IS REQUIRED ON YOUR SIDE. The transfer process can take up to 5 days.”

It was followed my a usual notification from the registrar (Namecheap) that the transfer has started. I thought “Cool!” and went on, expecting it to be competed within a week and cash out. As usual.

And literally the next day I have this in the inbox:

“Unfortunately the sale of […] has been cancelled. The buyer's payment will be refunded. Most likely this has occurred because the domain you had listed for sale at Epik was not transferred to Epik in order for us to deliver it to the buyer.

Because cancellations create a negative experience for buyers, Epik may now choose to review your ability to list external domains on our Marketplace. In other words, "Buy Now" listings would remain an option only for domains already at Epik.”

The domain no longer was in my Namecheap account, nor in NL listings. And no money from liquidation. I wrote to Epik support. Then we went back and forth in correspondence, they asked me for screenshots of my account and stuff. The issue even was sent to the higher staff.

Finally, yesterday I got an email that the name had been transferred to my Epik account. So it wasn’t liquidated, just changed registrars. At least I still own it, and my NL account wasn’t penalized.

So, what TF was that?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Cheers,
Andriy

Hey,

We're sorry to hear that this happened to you. It is a very strange case that I have personally never seen happening myself.

Could you please PM me your account's email or the ticket # so I can further look into this for you?

Thank you!
