Hi everyone,

I am a freelancer technical writer, content creator, copywriter, SEO technician, yada yada, too many to count. But on top of those, I am an Architectural engineer.

I love domains and how they work but I never considered collecting and flipping domains until recently.

Thanks to a lot of previous experience with building websites from scratch, I already know so many aspects of a domain. From DNS, NS, to things like TXT, and other records.

Recently, I kind of just started spendind time at namecheap search page.. just trying out some names.. Its been a month and I kind of got drawn to collecting and flipping the domains.

But since I don't have any actual experience in this specific line of work, I have a lot to learn. I hope this forum will be a great place to do that.

I bought my first domain today for flipping purposes and listed it for sale. Its tattooartnyc.com . I bought it for 10$ and hopefully, I'll sell it for much more. It's brandable, contains an exact match SEO term and a NYC location. We'll see but I hope it's a good one.

I also found TONS of awesome domains if my perception is to be trusted. But there are so many domain names that haven't even been registered yet from so many industries I've worked in before that it's honestly unbelievable. I expected that this line of work will be completely saturated but maybe I am wrong.. maybe that tattoo shop domain is worthless and my understanding of what makes a good domain for flipping could be wrong.

What do you think? Did I choose a good first domain?

Hi Devanos, thanks for a welcome!

I can't open that link. When I click it, nothing happens as if it's just an underlined text 😅

Welcome, honestly it's not good. You already used two words then added an acronym of 3 letters, too long and confusing. If you use an acronym, only use one word not two.

Hi, welcome! Just to let you know you need to wait 60 days after buying a domain because you can’t do a transfer to another person within 60 days.

@Mr.Engineer

Welcome to the forum. Try to explore NP and absorb everything. You are an engineer.

Good, bad or ugly - you ultimately need a few (or more) potential buyers for the domain.

Each letter counts. A single extra letter/number can make $$$$$ domain worthless. Choose wisely.

.Com is the king. It is preferred domain extension. Sales data #fact

Good Luck!

Caution: I am a leaner too and at the novice level.
