a few days after purchasing some domains some got marked/suspended to apparently prevent abusive registrations

I was told to reach out to the legal and abuse department

these domains are normal not out of the blue or anything like "this big company name x"

one of the domains i actually even spent around 800 on...

i said the domains were to be used to conduct business some service offerings some news sources just kept it simple since i wasn't even sure if this was bullshit or not.

they responded by saying "they have the grounds to believe that the services in question are involved in the express abusive activity" which they said is against their terms and attached a link to their website...

Continued to say be informed you will not have those domains unsuspended due to the nature of the issue

The decision is final and not subject to negotiation.

How the hell can they make such absolutely baseless claims and then say the decision is final without a care in the world?

Any help here is much much appreciated...

The actual domain name not the registrar.

There is not enough information to really give any guidance.

Were the domains purchased via the registrar directly, or on the secondary market?

If it was via the registrar, and they were suspended shortly after, they should really refund your money.

purchased directly from Namecheap a few days ago. They didn't make it seem like any refund was in store for me. It was very out of the blue and that was basically the only correspondence we had was what i mentioned above.

@alyonalyon

How do we know you are an employee for Namecheap?

@tamar

Can you take a look at this if possible? You are the one listed staff representative for NameCheap on NamePros.

Can you verify @alyonalyona works at NameCheap and/or try to resolve the original issue?

Thanks,
Brad

"The decision is final and not subject to negotiation. " sounds like NameCheap are taking a bite out of GoDaddy's language. It took me 4 appeals, none of which were allowed, before I got my portfolio of domains back. After they confiscated them.

The only question that I don't understand is if you are not allowed to own the name then why the hell Namecheap sold the name to him?

It's like selling NamecheapSucks then took the name back because it contains the word Namecheap?????

Namecheap requires email verification for login, and after registering a domain they still require some verification for each domain by clicking a link in the email (who knows what they would do if domains remain "inactive"),.. or maybe just waiting works, not sure. In the past they were ok. New namecheap is a timewaster, and maybe worse... In general (I mean, not talking about namecheap), sometimes customer service may not give the best answer, and you may be able to find a solution just by experimenting.

I would transfer the domain away if possible.

Namecheap sign in today has this warning.
There is no chance that the communication re the domain name was really not from Namecheap?
Warning: High number of email phishing attacks
Currently we are facing a high number of email phishing attacks impersonating Namecheap. Be cautious, and do not follow any suspicious links. Find more information here.
Hope it works out, and good to see several experienced NamePros members stepping forward to help.

exactly they went through the entire process of letting me buy then suspended them a couple days later and they now said if you I have

- a certificate or an article of incorporation (containing the company name, address, registration number, and the date of incorporation);
- a certificate or an article of limited partnership (containing the name of the LP, the address of its registered agent, and the names and addresses of the general partners).
- any recent bank account statement (containing the company name and address).

then no refund

Its for 10 domains btw.

I already warned him about phishing attack and have him to double check to make sure that it's namecheap and not someone else.

I double-checked the emails and it is @namecheap.com so I have to rule that out. Although It would make more sense with all the bogus going on rn

I no longer use GD as my main registrar. Dynadot are a much better registrar all round. No BS and their website isn't full of errors.
