The customer hired godaddy to contact me to buy the domain name, and when the domain name reached the floor price.

I asked that do I needed to pay the 20% tansaction fee.

and they said "yes, because my domain list on the afternic,in a sense i have "hired" them to broker the domains for me."

I'm thinking about it and haven't replied yet .

one day later, they change my domain price and bought it on afternic.is this reasonable?

i never pay for the brokerage fee, because this is the deal between the client and the company, not me.

and I'm sure the customer has already paid.

I think they are right. By setting the floor price you agree for the domain to be negotiated by their brokers and be sold at this ''floor'' price, as a minimal acceptable offer. And yes, you pay 20% because you do it on Afternic.
Obviously, you shouldn't pay any other brokerage fees, as you have nothing to do with it.

Dears,

You listed few domains on their platform. Yes?
When you listed on any brokerage platform, you are bound to read their T&Cs, yes?

I am puzzled, why drag anyone public for any mistake that's no way theirs?

You priced your domains with a floor price, that's not publicly disclosed,
And, the brokerage firm convinces the client to close the deal at your bottom price during negotiations,

By listing on their platform, you are bound to their T&Cs,..
I am not taking any names here, but Godaddy had acquired AfterNic, just like it acquired Uniregistry.

If you get your domains sold by Uniregistry, you pay a different brokerage,.
If you get your domains sold by AfterNic, you pay a different brokerage,.

Note: The floor price is the lowest acceptable sales price, AfterNic can negotiate without seeking approval (not public)

But when the customer hires Godaddy to contact me and the transaction is successful, customers are required to pay 20% of the fee to Godaddy.

Since the customer has already paid, why should I pay?it doesn't make sense.

But thes

But these are two totally different things. What the buyer is paying to the broker is the fee to find a name through all the channels the broker has: online, offline, phone calls, databases, existing clients etc. It's their business that has nothing to do with you. Happened to be that the broker found the name (yours!) on afternic and the client agreed. But you still have to pay of course the regular 20% that someone bought your name thru the platform, that's it.

Yes, loveai,... Don't pay 1 cent. Don't accept the transaction, and save the world from monopoly. Fight for your rights... File a lawsuit, and reclaim what's rightfully yours. If you need a lawyer, contact Godaddy's rival.

Don’t list on Afternic if you don’t want to pay the piper because no matter what platform the sale originates on or how you will pay the appropriate commish. If you want to negotiate and not GD on your behalf don’t fill in the floor.
