discuss Has the Meta Craze Slowed?

NameSilo
Watch
I had a ton of low ball offers the first week after the news, now I get views but no offers. Meta has not knocked down my door looking to buy my names. I am holding for the right offers.
How about everyone else? Any great offers?
Any big business offers?
How did you sell?
Feel free to spam if you are selling - I may post mine later - I didn't want this to be my personal shill post, I am interested in perspectives.
Meta and the forgotten second part - Horizon.

"Meta" is a word, in more than one language. Facebook doesn't own any word it and never will.
Yes, Meta even means "3" in the Yoruba language, "Do" or "Deed" in the Ibo language here in Nigeria.

in my opinion, i don't think the meta craze has died down yet.

the main issue i see is that alot of the good meta + (keyword .com names have been snapped up already, as well as other extensions like .net, .org, .io and .co.

so it's much more challenging now to find such good meta names.

i currently have 6 such meta + (keyword) names (3 of them .com extensions) and am still trying to find suitable buyers for them.

I wonder if keyword + meta is the better investment than meta + keyword.

Isn't keyword + meta better because at least it sounds like it's not part of the Zuckerverse (that is to say, part of the "Meta") and instead a metaverse thing generally instead. The water is muddied by the fact that they are claiming Meta as a name imho.

Some sound like they're part of the Zuckerverse in my opinion more than others...

MetaGifs - Zuckerverse gifs
GifMeta - A metaverse for gifs, or gifs in/for the metaverse

MetaMeeting - Zuckerverse meetings
MeetingMeta - A metaverse for meetings

MetaBanking - Zuckerverse bank
BankingMeta - A metaverse for banking

I don't know, [keyword]meta sounds more generic in a way than the other.

Meta Keyword seems like it could have some opportunity.
Meta is only 4 letters and its not difficulty to spell or offensive to combine.

In my opinion the craze has slowly recently but we're early and it is just getting started, if that makes sense.
My observations:
1) In 2021, Meta/Metaverse has been a hot domain. Look at the unparalleled sales prices of many of them.
2) It was getting hotter leading up to unknown Facebook rebrand announcement. Once Facebook revealed itself to be "Meta", some felt Meta popularity would go down due to TM issues, others felt it increased their value since the largest social company is now helping promote the name. I'm in the latter camp.
3) As more companies enter the Metaverse, the craze will continue to pickup steam. We're still in the early stages.
4) Meta/Metaverse+ premium keywords will retain the most value and have longevity, but have to be bought in the aftermarket since they aren't available to handreg anymore. I'd rather pay a little and buy 1 good name aftermarket than hand reg 100 bad names that will never sell.

I was mind blown just now to see there are 29 "metaverse" sales on Namebio. That's two nine.

Obviously there must be other sales that aren't listed, but given the insane amount of hysteria and relentless threads about it, I expected hundreds of sales, if not thousands, with tons of crazy five figure plus prices.

Instead only five names have sold for more than five figures and only one (1) has sold for more than $20k.

Four names with just the term "metaverse" + extension sold for less than $1k, one for $155.

Doesn't quite match all the noise surrounding it.

Yup, just another hype train. I see another one coming down the tracks...

Be careful what you hear people and don't let it affect your bank balance negatively.

Purely my opinion and using recent sales examples:

1) metaverse+kw is too long, unless it's a very relevant kw, won't have much value
e.g. metaverselogon.com - $198 (12/3)
e.g. metaversetechnology.com - $2200 (11/4)

2) meta+kw is preferred since shorter and more brandable, but kw is important, if kw is too long or irrelevant or people instantly think of Facebook, then won't have much value
e.g. metalinguistics.com - $180 (12/8)
e.g. metacontinental.com - $120 (12/8)
e.g. metaleak.com - $650 (12/6)

3) ones that really have value are short meta+kw where kw is generic, very relevant to metaverse, and not tied to Facebook
e.g. metatime.com - $40,000 (11/19)
e.g. metaxr.com - $60,000 (10/15)
e.g. metatrader.com - $100,000 (10/22)

so in summary, in reality there are few that will have value, and most likely fall under category #3

That's because the full metaverse is a new buzz word so there's still time for that to blow up.

So far, what's really selling out there domain-wise is the short form, meta. Time will tell if we will see more sales with meta or verse or metaverse or just brandable names without those keywords.

Meta and the forgotten second part - Horizon.

It's over hyped, it's not going to be the big name everyone thinks it will be
Simulation is the future
When science agrees we are in fact in one, then that's all there is

SimulationThis That

SimiVerse.com
SimuVerses.com

Both already games

Meta is a crappy tech tag for a synopsis of the page, never like it as Meta-Tags and Don't like it now that FB bought a company to get the .com

There's a huge backlash already in cryptoland over FB owning it

So the actual builders are now rejecting meta

let me guess, b/c you own both newly registered names, developed the same websites, and are obviously self promoting while bashing metaverse?

Hi there... I sold a keyword metaverse name for $10,000 and turned down $6500 for a metaverse keyword domain.
