The voting will take place for the last two months of 2021 the poll closes on December 31,2021.
You can make up to 3 choices. This way you will have plenty of time to think about your vote, you will have time to change your votes if you so desire.

Employees are prohibited from voting.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I think namepros.com and dynadot.com have same owner.

Agreed. I am surprised how dynadot has received the most votes here on a domaining forum. Dynadot has the worst control panel I have ever used, has weird security rules when updating domain settings, etc. It's almost impossible to manage domains at dynadot.

I didn't see any ;) So I guess you must be serious. For me it's the exact opposite. I love it, and it's the best control panel on the planet :) It does way more than you can ask from a Control Panel. Wonderful! Really.

I am serious. But I don't know the current state of Dynadot. Maybe it's better now. I first and last used Dynadot account around 5 years ago. They were offering low transfer fees at that time. I transferred some domains as a way of cheap renewal. Then I transferred back all domains after the 60 days lock period.

I hated their control panel. I have never seen such a thing. It was extremely user unfriendly for me. I remember it was keeping asking my birthday or something like that for a simple update on domain. I haven't experienced such a thing. That wasn't the end. It was not allowing DNSsec or nameserver registration at that time. I can't remember all the problems now. But I remember that Dynadot control panel wasn't only user unfriendly but also was lacking some functionalities which some of my websites need. Even Godaddy control panel is better than Dynadot. Because Godaddy is only user unfriendly for me but not lacking any domain functionality. Also I remember making payment to Dynadot was somehow different and difficult. Probably there was an account credit system in which user can pay in advance and spend later with discount or a system something like that. I probably left some dollars as account credit when I left. Again, Dynadot has the worst control panel I have ever used.

I don't think you can base you opinions today on what you saw 5 years ago. I did a quick check. I started using Dynadot in about 2006. Although it took about 3 years to get most of my domains into Dynadot. I probably only use maybe 10% or less of the features in Dynadot. I understand the "once bitten, twice shy, way of thinking" , and you are welcome to yours :) But I would have been a little bit curious after 5 years of non-use, what you might be missing that everybody seems to be voting for them. It's OK if you use your registrar differently to me and everbody else who uses them. But I have never has a problem requesting features to be added. Not all are granted of course. For example it was my suggestion to have a variable for the domain name. That was a huge step forward when they implemented that. A long time ago. So they have always been happy to oblige useful suggestions. BTW. Which is your preferred registrar?

Because I have no personal experience (zero domains there) I am actually curious:
Why Cloudflare has such low interest here? Prices are good and they are a stable company.

Dynadot has an app that is nicely thought out. You can register a domain, make DNS updates, renew, bid on expired auctions, use chat support, etc. all from the same app.

Was kinda surprised this popped up while logging in at porkbun managing a client's domain:

I guess I am the only one here that has something nice to say about Godaddy.
I started off in 1998 using Network Solutions and Register.com for a few years but then left them for Godaddy.

I have been with Godaddy for about 15 years and the last 10 years I have had my own Rep and that is one big reasons why I like them.
If I ever have an issue I email or call her and she takes care of it. She is always really cool to work with.
I never have to call customer service or use chat and speak with a stranger I have no history with.
I have never had an issue big enough to make me not like Godaddy.

I also use Namesilo and Dynadot and I like them a lot. For me it's,

Godaddy
Namesilo
Dynadot

I left GoDaddy for Dynadot maybe 10 years ago. The control panel is way more extensive at Dynadot. I still use GoDaddy for buying in their auctions. And I transfer them out after 60 days to Dynadot. Why? Well firstly because as I said Dynadot's control panel is way more extensive. And secondly. I see problems EVERY day in GoDaddy's Control Panel. They should stop tinkering around with the live code, and fix the problems on a backup system first. Before transferring the fix to their live code. IMHO.

@lennco I liked Godaddy until I lost my representative for some reason (was my main reason to stay)... then I moved out my domains.

Employees are prohibited from voting.
Several verified representatives of Epik have requested that their staff badge be removed after this poll started.

We believe that's related to the Epik hack and not a manipulation of this poll, but it seems relevant to mention in this poll given that employee votes are prohibited:
As mentioned, the non-core upstream developments have largely been put in hold in order to focus on the core.

All NamePros team members, including us moderators, are prohibited from voting in polls as of 2021. It's disabled for us. Learn more.

You can tell by the amount of members posting comments in support of Dynadot that these poll results are representative of public opinion. You can also see the voters' usernames in the previous poll where the results were set to public by the pollster:

That said, there are a lot of great registrars and the competition is very healthy. It wouldn't be surprising to see a different registrar win each year given such a healthy competitive environment and more registrars beginning to engage with the community.

The real winners are decided by the registrars that you use.

Choose wisely. :)

Why Cloudflare has such low interest here? Prices are good and they are a stable company.
You need to use cloudflare dns for their domains.
some people want external dns, thats the reason they don't go with cloudflare even if their pricing is at wholesale cost.

But my specific choices are:
  • internetbs
  • namesilo
  • gandi.net

Dynadot , quick points.
  • affordable
  • ???

how can that be?

Dynadot and porkbun. though porkbun needs to add some common features like bulk lock/unlock, being able to search in your domain list and being able to list more than 100 domains in a page, select/deselect page/all, etc.
