Welcome to the new NamePros in November!

Today marks the first step toward a lot of positive and exciting changes coming to NamePros. You'll notice that most of what you loved is still here, and we're working hard to bring back even more.

And that's only the beginning! We'll be bringing you regular updates, sometimes weekly, to add the features you've requested (please vote on features you want to see first!) and improve your experience.

Our mission is to build a thriving professional network around the best community – that's you! – where professionals can engage in civil discussions, ask questions, share advice, partner, transact, and succeed, all together.

We hope you'll have a look around, and let us know what you think!

All our best,

The NamePros Team

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
There's one thing ive been wondering about for a long time now, is there any way to increase to amount of posts on one page? Like instead of clicking on the pages it would show 200per page.

The same quest about Likes every day...
@Paul - you should enable it OR find the way to inform all members: why silence on NamePros in November...
~Nobody reads this thread.

Our development team was in overdrive for about a month. I was working 18-hour days on a regular basis to ensure everything went smoothly. During that time, we migrated the site to temporary infrastructure optimized for the upgrade, and the code running the website was swapped out--the visual changes you see comprise the tip of the iceberg. Once we reached a point last week at which the deployment was moderately stable, I took a few days off to recover.

Most of my time this week will be dedicated to migrating the site back onto its permanent infrastructure. Although other developers will be fixing bugs and making improvements, most of those changes will not be deployed until after I've performed the final migration. You should not expect timely responses from me this week, and you should expect to see few changes.

Upgrading a large website like NamePros takes a lot more work than upgrading a small website. There are about a dozen servers and services that need to talk to each other, and everything needs to replicate to multiple datacenters to ensure no data is lost should one go up in flames. I know there are a lot of changes and fixes you would like to see, but my priority right now needs to be that migration. I appreciate your patience while I sort that out. :)

In the meantime, the moderators will be passing along bug reports to the rest of the development team. They should be your primary point of contact for now, but please keep in mind that they are tired as well.

Paul, great work. I waiting for few years when you update XenForo from 1.x to 2.x. Please, make a unique style for Namepros. Default style its cringe.

Thanks and congrats for the hard work! As you say, upgrading a dozen servers that need to replicate to multiple datacenters is not an easy task! (y)
After all the hard work needed to do that, seeing just complaints in the forum about the like alerts must be a bit disappointing :xf.laugh:

The many redundant "There may be more posts after this. You received this alert because you’re watching this thread." messages in every alert. Without, the alerts will be much cleaner.

You can disable those alerts in your Preferences: Uncheck "Replies to a watched thread".

I have seen my Preferences and I have disabled the Notifications when someone "Reacts to your message". I think those are the famous "Like" Alerts.
I think that I disabled those alerts the second day I registered here. But it looks like many people enjoy receiving the "Likes" alerts...
In my opinion the really important live "Alerts" are when somebody sends you a DM, Quotes your message or Mentions you in a message. Also sometimes when someone Replies to a watched thread.

Well, actually I do want to see those alerts. But not the accompanying text in every alert, it takes a lot of precious screen space. Already on the old forum, but even more in the upgraded version.

What? Notifications of Likes is disabled? Those should always be enabled.

Why have you removed the Send Message button from the threads in Domain Buyer Requests?
Now, if I have to send my domains to someone's request, I have to send them a message separately and then inform them why I'm sending a message and I'm not a spammer.
Earlier, it was all automatic and they'll instantly know why someone's messaging.
Tell me if there is a solution.

@Paul
I didn't ask you to provide: what is going under the hood and all other details from your life...
I just asked to inform all members (via email, banner etc.): why silence on NamePros.

There has not been silence, nor will there be. @Bravo Mod Team has been providing frequent responses to questions here and will continue to do so. I need to focus my attention elsewhere, or the issues you have raised will take longer to address.

I believe that was added back about 15 hours ago, but it may not be fully functional yet. I believe there were some issues configuring it. @Bravo Mod Team likely knows where we’re at with that update.

Silence due to lack of alerts!
And 99%+ of NamePros members don't read this thread and ask about this issue again and again (daily)...
That's why just banner or email is necessary to inform them.
Is it so hard to understand???

This issue is already reported by MANY members!
As for me personally: I don't need this forum at all, I can live without it easily!

People generally don't appreciate mass emails, and the people who are most likely to have a hard time adapting to the change tend not to notice banners. We'll handle the support requests as they come in.

It doesn't matter how many people report it; no changes can be made to that system until the issue explained here is addressed. Complaints cannot change that. Continuing to tag me in this thread will slow down the process, not speed it up. That's just the reality of the situation.

Then banner (already mentioned 2 times) is enough.
Is it so hard to place one more banner regarding your recent changes?!
It can be even banner with link to this thread.
Or only ads on NamePros and 0% care about its members?!

There is a notice, but you dismissed it at 2021-11-02 11:23:50 UTC, which brings us back to my point:

the people who are most likely to have a hard time adapting to the change tend not to notice banners

I dismissed it, because I'm mostly here in this thread since your changes.
I don't need any reminders.

Regardless of your reason for dismissing it, there is, in fact, a banner. :)

Then this banner is not informative.
Clearly write on your banner: Where are my Likes&Thanks alerts?

If people ask the same quest again and again - it is ONLY YOUR fault that you can't communicate effectively.

In any case, the alerts for every new message in this thread work perfectly.
