Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Update..

More than 72 hrs have passed since I attempted to add the domain to my Sedo account, & since I added the TXT record. I also contacted their rep on NP about it as you can tell from the posts above(they chose to ignore my question which was if they were going to keep the unauthorized listing while they verify my ownership.).

The old listing is still up there, & the domain is still pending verification in my Sedo account. I just sent an email to their security & compliance department explaining all that.

I don't think the support team works on weekend , at least that was what I was told

In many places around the world it is not the weekend, but OK, in an industry where everything is done online, hardly any physical interaction, somebody should still address certain issues on weekends.

Also, it was Thursday when all that happened, their system didn't do anything Thursday & Friday, & their rep ignored it.

Not to mention it's been 40+ days since that name has moved to a different owner, how many working days in those. Afternic now just deletes the name from your account if they can't verify ownership, & on Dan it's instant, just by adding a 3rd NS.

I know.. I'm just annoyed by them, it happens a lot these days.. They're being stubborn by sticking to a system that is obviously problematic... I'm not sending them the screenshot they keep asking for..

They accepted my screenshot and answered on Thursday.
I sent it on Wednesday by reply to their email.

Of course they accepted it, by sending it you're doing the job for them.

What if I don't want to list it with Sedo? So no screenshot at all.

A name they can't deliver, they can't verify its ownership because it's been without the TXT record for 40+ days. Do what you're supposed to do, delete it & never mind who'll list it next. We cross the bridge when we reach it, but in my case it's "if we reach it" because I just want the unauthorized listing of my domain on their marketplace deleted. If I want to list it with you is a different story.

My domain was listed and parked for ~10 days prior their screenshot request.
I even received 2 bids on it during this period from some US lowballer.

You shouldn't have sent it.. So what now are we going to send screenshots for hundreds & thousands of names should we decide to list with Sedo..

They should do something about it, not have domain investors do the work for them.

This is my 1st or 2nd screenshot since 2008.
Nameservers ~always work for me...
In the hard scenarios - TXT helps.

OK, maybe it doesn't happen that often.

The question remains though, why do they insist on keeping listings of names they can't deliver?

They should simply delete those, full stop

They are on 2nd place in terms of the obsolete listings.
Afternic is the champion.

Day 6 (since contacting support & adding the TXT record).. The unauthorized listing of my name is still live, a name Sedo cannot deliver. Still pending ownership verification in my account.

Support are nowhere to be found..

Support finally replied & manually added the name to my account & deleted it from the other account, because the auto self-verification was not successful they say.

It was a 6 day process. Let's see how often it happens moving forward.

It is very disappointing that some investors don't have the courtesy to delete names they don't own, this is a problem.

Please add one more option in Settings (ON/OFF) to hide the public indication of minimum offer.
Or hide it by default.

They bid what they see on your pages, exactly this amount.
I'm already enough of those bids.
Hide it by default (like on Epik/DAN) or provide the individual option to hide it.
And in most cases further negotiations with Minimum-bidders don't produce any good sales.
Just waste of time and nerves.

Not some, but MANY lazy registrants... I don't call them domainers.
Every month I spend hours of my time to kill their previous activity.

Since this week I often get "The connection was reset" error and delay 1-2 seconds, and only then any my parked domain loads...
The same error I see when I check via httpstatus.io (Canonical domain check enabled).
It happens not always, but often.

I'm not sure what you are saying. I dont run the site's DNS so take what I say with a grain of salt. When I put in http and go to godaddy it redirects to a secure page for me so the DNS is working automatically. I do not believe the test you are doing will work because it is not understanding the site is dynamic. It is not a simple 301 redirect to https godaddy it is redirected to a myriad of secure sites based on different variables. So you may be redirected to a country specific secure url like in.godaddy.com or you may be directed to a page for you personally with your Premier Rep contact info on it and the domains landing page, or a Hosting specific page with your Pro info. There's a ton of different redirects from my quick check into it based on specific user variables. It is not a straight you type in X and get forwarded to https X it is however in my quick tests redirecting to a secure personalized URL which I believe is too complex for the simple test the website you are using to detect. Again though, I am not responsible for the DNS, but it does appear to be working correctly.

This is what I get in Chromium 91/92 a few months already when visiting GoDaddy...
After ERR_CONNECTION_RESET there is 1-2 seconds delay - and only then I land on ua.godaddy.com
