What do you think is the best Drop-Catching Software Programs? Now I mean programs that you catch through yourself.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
They cannot compete with DropCatch, SnapNames, NameJet, because you don't have enough chances at connecting to the Registry. You might beat some dropcatchers, but not those three. But you might catch some low-level domains which don't have any real value, after all the good stuff will be out of reach. IMHO.

it is a monopoly you don't have the fire power ^^ for low tier names you can make your own checkout dynadot api documentation www.dynadot.com/domain/api.html(but i see no point in doing that tho since you can just place 10$ discounted back orders at dropcatch)

$10 Discounted Backorders at DropCatch only allows their partner HugeDomains.com to backorder the domain and beat you to the domain. A complete waste of time. IMHO. NEVER use a discounted backorder unless you want to lose the domain, or to win a useless domain :(

@stub are you saying HugeDomains is running the same racket on dropcatch as well ? lolz
i truly hope with all my heart they go bankrupt enough is enough

what you are saying makes sense anything that is semi good is backordered by them and it show $partner
i still manage to pick up few good domains here and there mostly for seo value but those are becoming harder and harder to come by as well

the system is rigged.

You are competing against literally countless non-retail registrars there for “drop”

I've tried now for some time to dropcatch domains via Dynadot API.

It depends on your server location, Dynadot tier etc. But in general, you obviously won't have any chance on getting first tier domains.

The higher your Dynadot rank, the more server requests get through. It's still not comparable to dropcatch services, who have direct links to the icann registry.

Yep. You get the gist. You won't win anything valuable with the $10 backorder. Because you are giving permission for HugeDomains to beat you to the backorder. This doesn't happen with the $59 backorders at DropCatch.

Use tools to find broken links on sites and find why domain is dead.

Jack to be frank a lot of people who aren't that familiar with drop catching use the service for a while but from what I've seen over the years they don't use it long.

Noone want to invite competitors especially in the dropcatch niche.

You should do your own research on how expired .in domain get re-registered. By keep tracking which registrars successfully caught the dropped domains that you consider to be valuable, then you will knew which registrar is likely having a higher success rate. After that, you can consider to buy the software you needed.

10,000 investors investing $1000 each should be enough money $10 million to build a proprietary dropcatch system for the investors. If each investor gets at least one drop domain valued at $1000 per year then the investment payoff would be very quick.

The point is not only money.
You must became a Registar with many accounts. And I don't know how many accounts you can buy today even if you have a lot of money!

There are maybe 50 domains that drop a year that are worth over 3000 bucks. Now if you buy them all, maybe you will resell 5 of them for a good profit in the next 15 years.

If you check what happened to all the big name sales of the past 10 years you will see almost none sold to a end user and are still being parked and moved from marketplace to marketplace.

If you could raise 10 million and want to turn it into a billion, here is the plan:

Spend 5 million on 10 great names in categories that have products and services with high commission (insurance, lending, fitness etc)

Take the other 5 million and build the sites out using many techniques to drive users and revenue. Because the names are all really good within their category, you could arrange some really good traffic exchanges.

One of the 10 will catch well. Grow that one, reinvest profits and take it public.

There is a significant exception to what you have said. Am I going to reveal it on a public forum...heck no :)
