DaaZ.com is a premium domain names marketplace owned by DaaZ Limited, London (UK).

Key vision of DaaZ.com is helping buyers and sellers to transact with each other in a trusted way.

DaaZ.com key focus is end user focused sales and we have been operational since August 2019 and we have made a quite good progress and supported few thousands buyers buying domains via DaaZ and also having around 800+ sellers offering their inventory for sale. We have registered buyer base of 4000+ buyers.

It may not be lot in terms of numbers, we are the youngest marketplace (without any registrar presence). We have made a good reputation and able to build the traction.

How we are different ?

We may not be too different at moment, we are sharing what we believe is our core offerings:
  • We have developed a platform which is having a very good buyers interface, specially helping wholesale or repeated buyers securing domain names.
  • We allow the listings for free, it's open for all sellers (aka domainers) and support 1400+ domain extensions
  • Sellers can run any time auctions. This feature help for regular cash-flow needed by the sellers. (Disclaimer: At present very few end users participate into these auctions, mostly domainers / resellers winning the names )
  • Lowest Success Fee: Our success fee is 8% (with chargeback protection included) is the lowest in the industry offered by any domain name marketplace.
  • We pay to the sellers via PayPal / Wire transfers. No PayPal withdrawal or pay-out fees, all fees covered by DaaZ with in 8% success fee (In short, no indirect fees)
  • We offer live chat support round the clock (Although we are not officially 24/7, we are offering near 24/7 support). We look after our buyers and sellers with great attention.
  • We love automation of the processes; however we do believe the human interaction with the buyers makes a lot of difference. So, we automated what we believe is required to automate and we kept those human interactions with the buyers or sellers where we believe is required to be in place
We are open to listening to our buyers and sellers and improve the platform every month. We are making two improvement releases a month to fix the product related issues and also bringing new features.

We believe our customers are our gods and we help them in all possible means we can. That's clearly reflecting in our customer reviews, we are proud to share we are a new market place however according to Trustpilot we have secured the highest customer trust among all domain name market places in 2020 with 4.9 trust rating : https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/daaz.com

What we believe we need to improve ?

We believe a platform will be never perfect and has to continue to listen to our customers and deliver a platform of their choice. So, we have a clear outlined process to receive the feedback and handle the product improvements effectively
  • We are relatively a young platform, so we have a lot of room to improve on number of features and catch-up, we are addressing the backlog with a lot of passion
  • We are aware that we need to bring the installment plan, rent to own features, also a powerful API to help the bulk sellers. We have clearly these features in our product road-map for 2021.
  • We have a lot more innovative ideas not attempted by any other marketplace, we are focusing to address the industry standard offerings first before moving on delivering these innovative ideas to help the domain investors / sellers
  • We also record every suggestion given by our buyers and sellers, we analyse the feedback, and all the appropriate feedback is getting added to backlog
  • Our road-map is ready for next 5 years and we will do everything possible to help to improve the standards of domain name marketplace
We love to listen to the NamePros community hence we are setting up this Official thread.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@DaaZ when starting a Daaz secure transaction, the buyer has to share his/her daaz.com account email address with the seller. But email is private data. It is unnecessary to share the email with the seller.

It would be better if the seller could enter just the buyer's daaz.com username, or account ID to initiate the transaction, so that the buyer doesn't have to share the email with the seller.

Feedback accepted.

DaaZ Secure is primarily designed to support the Outbound sales. As most of the domainers are doing the outbound using email id that was the basis considering the email as the starting point of engagement with the buyer. As these days social media based outbound is active, we have a backlog item to address this change. We will keep it flexible considering the privacy aspect of the buyer.

We will update this thread once this change is implemented.

@DaaZ can you please explain to me this condition? It is displayed in the account area.

"After Buyer completed the payment if the transaction is cancelled for what so ever reasons, DaaZ service fees will not be refunded and buyer is accountable for 100% fees."

What if the seller cancels the transaction? In this case, according to that sentence above, the buyer has to pay all fees. But that would be not logical.

"if the transaction is cancelled for what so ever reasons" - cancelled by whom?

There are 3 cases:
- buyer cancels the transaction
- seller cancels the transaction
- Daaz cancels the transaction

That quoted sentence basically says that if the transaction is cancelled for whatever reason (by buyer, by seller or by Daaz), then the buyer has to pay 100% of the fees.

If this isn't the case, then you should word that quoted sentence clearer.

DaaZ secure transactions are zero percent revenue focused transactions for DaaZ and even in some cases we incur the losses on the processing fees itself ( when sellers ask for sending small payouts via wire or for all payment payouts). We are not counting the product development, maintenance and staff costs. In addition to that we have to face the charge back risks too.

As the DaaZ secure transactions are offline agreed deals, buyer and seller has to be fully prepared to complete the transaction.

Kindly note , DaaZ secure transactions can only initiate by the seller and the buyer reviews the terms and conditions of the transaction and accept the same.

You are right. Buyer or seller can cancel the transaction.

If the seller doesn't honor for a transaction he / she initiated, we prefer to ban such seller conducting business on DaaZ. Business ethics are more important than money. If there is a valid reason, certainly we will be considerate for sure.

In the last (circa) 2 years, we have not seen a single seller or DaaZ cancelling any DaaZ secure transactions.

Buyers often request to cancel the transactions for reasons like transfer out is not possible or they changed the mind..etc. All we are telling the buyer is you are accountable for processing fees.

Kindly note for regular DaaZ listing ( BIN, Make Offer, Auction or Lease to Own) sales, we refund 100% if the seller doesn't honor to handover the domain name to the buyer. It happened few times , as some sellers list across multiple platforms (or) forget to renew names on time (or) sell in wholesale on forums or social media groups and forget to remove the domain name from BIN listings from DaaZ. In those circumstances, we swiftly refund to the buyer without buyer even asking for it.

@DaaZ this secure transaction feature could be a great thing, but I don't understand an important part of this service.

I am in the process of an ongoing Daaz secure transaction.

First I received this message: "Thank you for the purchase of Bulk domain names. We are in the process of collecting the domain from the seller"

Then I had to choose how to receive the domains, I chose domain transfer.
These domains are registered at Network Solutions and Sav.

And then I received this:

"Thank You! we will inform the same thing to seller once he approved all domain transfers we will inform to you"

???

I thought that it works like this:
1) you receive the domain ownership from the seller, the seller pushes the domains to your Daaz escrow domain registrar account
2) Then you push the domains to me from your escrow account, or you unlock the domains then I transfer the domains from your escrow account to my account

If these domains are already in your escrow account, then why should you inform the seller to approve the domain transfers? Or maybe just the wording of your notification email is wrong, and you already have these domains in your escrow account? I thought that "collecting the domain from the seller" means that you receive these domains first into your Network Solutions and Sav escrow accounts. And then you unlock the domains and then I receive the domains from you, not from the seller. or not?

Looks like, in this case, there is no escrow account, I am receiving the domains straight from the seller? So how is it secure? Seller could claim that I have already transferred the domains into my account, when in fact the seller could use the same auth codes to transfer away the domains into another registrar. So if the seller is fraudulent, then how can you check who used the auth codes, seller or buyer?

Secure transaction should mean that you always use the escrow domain registrar account.
Or maybe I misunderstood something?

And indeed I had to accept the fact that I (as the buyer) would be responsible for paying 100% of the fees should the seller or Daaz decline the transaction, which is nonsense if you ask me. Why should I pay 100% of the fees if the seller or Daaz cancels the transactions?

I see your point , but the transfer agent has tried to offer a better experience to you. It is our responsibility to ensure the domain names are handed over to you. We can see the domain names are already in transfer in progress.

Two reasons why the auth codes are shared.. the transaction cost is too small to worry about. 2nd reason, offering a smooth experience to you and the seller.

If we ask for a domain push from seller, seller has to push multiple domains in two different registrars and then we have to share the auth codes to you. It delays the process and also may bring in some technical complexities. e.g: NetSol is yet times lock the domains after domain push. You may not able to transfer out and wait for 60 days, recently we have experienced the same issue with NetSol.

I will pass your feedback internally and see we can make it mandatory to accept the domain push for all domain names, but that could degrade the buyer / seller experience in certain times, so an exception process is required for sure.

End of the day our objective for us is to offer a smooth experience to the seller and buyer.

We will assess the risk for each transaction and work on offering a smooth & customized experience to both the buyer and seller.

As said earlier, DaaZ won't cancel any transactions.

Regarding seller cancelling the transaction, the statistics are proven no seller cancelled a transaction in last 2 years (circa). So far we have not come across such situation, if it happens we will certainly consider to refund 100% and take the loss on DaaZ's side ( subject to no mistake from buyer's side).

I will certainly pass your feedback to DaaZ Team and also ask them to explore the opportunity to improve the DaaZ secure process based on the feedback received from you.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback, we truly appreciate and value all of your feedback.

Dear @DaaZ
I used the Daaz Secure Transactions two times as a buyer, here are my suggestions:

I think it should be used more often here on Namepros when buying-selling domain names. Daaz Secure Transactions is a great way to buy and sell domains, for example here on Namepros. It was very fast, a transaction was started on Sunday and it was completed on the same day, on Sunday. And your fees are very low, too. The best thing is that a domain name can be priced for as low as 10 USD, and it is possible to transact multiple domain names in a single Daaz Secure Transaction. I recommend the Daaz Secure Transactions when buying or selling domain names.

My suggestions:

- buyer and seller see each other's email, it's not the best solution in terms of privacy, account IDs would be enough instead of the email addresses to identify the buyer and seller

- as a buyer, my company name and company VAT number is missing from the auto-generated invoice, but I filled in my billing details prior to starting the Daaz Secure transaction. I had to contact the support and ask for the corrected invoice, this is not efficient, please try to display the company name and VAT number on the invoices automatically

- you mentioned before that "As the DaaZ secure transactions are offline agreed deals, buyer and seller has to be fully prepared to complete the transaction.", but it's not true, as I mentioned, I used Daaz Secure Transactions to buy domain names here from another Namepros members. These were not "offline agreed deals", and I have never met the sellers. It is unreasonable that as a buyer, I have to agree to pay 100% of the fees should the seller cancel the transaction. You mentioned that "no seller cancelled a transaction in last 2 years", but still, according to your legal terms, the buyer has to pay 100% of the fees should a seller cancel a transaction, what you say here on this forum will not overwrite your legal terms. My suggestion is to remove this condition. Seller should pay the fees should the seller cancel a transaction, and the buyer should pay the fees should the buyer cancel the transaction.

Many thanks for your feedback, All the suggestions you have given are added to the backlog to improve the DaaZ secure feature.
We will make sure those improvements are brought in at the earliest possible. Once they are solved we will i notify you on the same..

We sincerely believe , improvements to the product is a continuous journey and we are happy to invest into the product development. End of the day we are building this product to help the buyers and sellers, so your feedback as a buyer is very useful information to us. We will do everything possible to resolve them at the earliest possible.

I've been closely watching the auctions and I haven't seen bids in any of the domains listed there yet.

I'm not talking about my domains, but all the domains listed at Daaz.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

DaaZ auctions at moment are mostly participarted by resellers / wholesalers, very few end users join on quality names.

We have developed and given a nice platform to auction names, but at the moment quality of the names is not great. Just question yourself, as a wholesaler will you bid any of the names you have noticed there?.. you will find the answer.. we made the auction submissions free couple of months back since then bad quality names are entering into the auction. We may need to stop and put some measures on free submissions.

e.g: https://daaz.com/auction/get/bids/btz.in there are bids on this name because its quality. So quality names sells for sure.

@Charybdis we are allowing to create a transition using DaaZ username too. It's a quick solution we have implemented based on your feedback.

Thanks for contributing to the improvement of DaaZ platform.

Thank you for the suggestion. Certainly I will pass your feedback to our management. We have been focused on product development and adding new features every 2 weeks.

We are unique in the way as our key focus is on offering great customer service and improving the product based on the feedback from the customers , also keeping the costs optimized to offer the low service fees to the domain sellers.

Certainly we will consider your suggestion on marketing efforts. We have started marketing DaaZ product via LinkedIn Ads , Twitter ads for now. Certainly we have a room to improve on that part, as you rightly highlighted its all about allocating the marketing budget. The moment we start spending more on marketing , eventually it force us to increase the fees to the sellers. We are optimistic , domainers will notice and help us to grow. We have close to 300k names inventory, all we need is just another 700k names to start the aggressive marketing efforts.

I just wanna request @DaaZ to ban or restrict those buyers who doesn't pay after winning the auction.
Recently, one of my domains had a bid of $190, but the winner didn't pay. Because of waiting for his payment, I rejected $65 and $125 offers on Sedo and a $50 offer here in NP.
I don't know why he/she was outbidding other bidders if he wasn't gonna pay.

Although we do everything possible to collect the payments from auction winners, a small percentage of winners don't act in a professional way. Unfortunately you are the victim in this case. We sincerely apologize for it. It's certainly frustrating to see a name getting sold in auction and waiting for few days to see the payment received and later getting realized the auction winner is a non-payer.

Although our platform has very low percentage of non-payers (very small percentage ), certainly we want to reduce the same further.

We ban the non-payers straight away, this particular buyer is already banned and can't use any of the DaaZ services. We will not worry about loosing business from this buyer , we only want professional sellers and buyers using DaaZ.

I wouldn't recommend Daaz to anyone.
I've had two fake offers in August alone. Buyers made bid and never made the payments.
I have never experienced the same in any other marketplaces.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

To the best of our knowledge
a) Non-payers at the DaaZ are very low percentage and we have industry best conversion rates , circa 91% offers accepted are converted to the sales.
b) we have an extensive and the best payments collection process.

Also we ask the buyer to fill the address details and we also socially verify every new buyer to see they are genuine or not.. if we believe the buyer activity is suspicious and ask for additional details to validate the profile, we will take the corrective actions at great speed and we also ban the potential buyers (users) when they disrespect the agreed deals..

If you have any better ideas to stop these time wasters, feel free to suggest. We will act on it , this is a industry problem.. any advises from the domainers will be certainly considered and we will improve the process to improve the conversion rates.

Kindly note, its a fine balance between making it easier for buyers to transact versus weeding out the bad players who does things for fun or due to poor business ethics. There is always a room to improve, we are open for any suggestions and certainly improve.

As part of innovating and helping the domainers to have more insights of the buyers activity, We have recently brought an option for the seller to check if their counter offer has been viewed by the potential buyer. We sincerely believe this feature helps the domainers ( infact the buyer too ). We also believe DaaZ is the first market place implementing this feature.

Seller can get the below details from this feature.
a) When is the last time the potential buyer has seen the counter offer details ( time and date )
b) How many times the offer has been viewed by the potential buyer

P.S: Both the buyers and sellers has the option to hide their activity via Privacy settings.

BIN Listings Success Fee Reduced to 5%:

  • Now all BIN listings will be charged at 5% instead of 7% success fee
  • Any account specific discounts offered are removed as part of this change. Now all sellers can enjoy the 5% success fee for all BIN transactions.
