The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Not sure why you call a post fake without even getting into the details. Even if something is not right there is a better way to say than calling a post from a newbie here as fake. Here is the link from Squadhelp itself: https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/articles/2885225-marketplace-rules-for-sellers#:~:text=In order to keep your, domain is listed at Squadhelp. it clearly states: "For your premium Marketplace listings, you are not allowed to post "for sale" messages or listings on third party/ public websites". However they allow exclusivity if 50+ premium domains listed. For standard there is no such restriction.

Do point to the SH url where they say you can list in afternic(even if you don't have 50+ domains listed) for Premium Listings, can you show the url?
This is really old, check here:
https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/articles/4456288-recent-changes-and-updates-to-marketplace
OPZrNVZ.png

There are special terms for that of course, but there is no connection with the number of names you have.

Edit: there is in fact URL in Samer's post which is exactly about listing on Afternic.

I just rocked today, 4 sales at a time :) feeling happy with sad mood, i forget these are old domains but sold them at cheap prices. Bad day for me

Venue Afternic

freegamespace.com
Hold time 3 month
Sold for $299
Domain age 16 years purchased from closeout expiring
Venue Godaddy

Hold time 2 month
Sold for $499
Domain age 19 years purchased from closeout expiring

pizzavendor.com
Hold time 15 days
Sold for $699
Domain age 21 years purchased from closeout expiring
Venue Afternic

FAKE SALES

All the domain names are still available on DAN, Sedo, Aftermic, GoDaddy etc for $1995. Normally, when the domain names are sold on Afternic, Sedo etc. it automatically gets delisted. It's very unlikely that someone bought these domain names and immediately listed them again on Afternic, Sedo, Godaddy for 1995.

Also, the domain names listed on Dan are by "Lazzybuz". The mods have temporarily closed your below thread for fishy activity. What's your relationship with "Lazzybuz"?

I have already reported to management.

The funny thing is, the current seller (Lazzybuz) of the domain names has previously signed up to this forum with a fake profile, and all his posts and memberships have been deleted: https://www.namepros.com/members/lazzybuz.1043123/

The account named @mohsinkhan656744 must also be a different account of the same person trying to scam.

You should have just kept everything to yourself cos you have not reported anything, which is a clear opposite of what this thread stands for.

nah...it of no use to anyone and you clearly do not understand what this thread is about. The mod should have that post of yours deleted because it is not by the rules. This thread would have been dead if everyone reported like you just did, a lot of people wouldn't have tried either.

How about sharing some more useful info like - was it brandable, a made-up word, word based on a well-known word, etc. Or maybe it was related to a popular niche of some sort (crypto, etc). None of this will give the name away but it'll make it a lot more useful for all readers.

@cabotower

This threads purpose is to give details of the sale.

That is of you can give
Any data of the name... extension...purchase price... purchasing venue....holding time... inbound/outbound... negotiation details...BIN/Make offer
... installment... selling price...selling venue...payment method used (PayPal, wire, crypto etc)...if applicable fast transfer or not...time took to get the money...

These all will help understand many things about the name..

Which is the main part...

If name is not mentioned nothing is useful...or very little of use.

Don't take it otherwise..
We are happy for your sale...
Congratulations.

Purpose of the thread is to tell the sold name and other details.

Thanks,
Ravi.

2 syllable based on a dictionary word. brandable with multiple retail uses.

Stats are no indication a name will actually sell. Relying soley on stats is just as foolish as never investigating stats. Many factors come into play. Only ones who care about stats more than the domain name are domainers imo.
Can you please show 4-5 recently sold domains that have none of those metrics that I mentioned and yet sold for a good price?
Also can you elaborate a bit on which are those "Many factors" that you mentioned?
Thanks

I think what he's basically saying is ,an enduser will pick good name over good stat anyday (enduser is where the good price is), a few will go for stat but those are VERY low % of ENDUSER...
but if you are more of reselling to other domainers the stat counts (my opinion)

.

Read this thread. End users care (particularly in brandables) about the name not the stats. Every domain I ever sold doesn’t have the factors you mentioned. You are trying to make a science of that which is an art.

Ok thanks, sounds logical...But again is this not the case mainly with Small Mom N Pop type businesses where they will only go by the name? For large corporates, wouldn't they have a trained marketing team that will look at the "Metrics" as well before buying a Domain?

6,500 🤔 how long have you been into "domaining"/purchase ?

Answering here to avoid further dilution of the sales thread.

What matters is not how long, but how much investment $ I have available and purchase rate is limited by 1) stock cash availability, 2) ongoing sales to feed renewals, and 3) management difficulty. I've been even selling a lot of names at clearance in the past months to maintain my portfolio size so it doesn't explode.

As for purchases, there are a ton of sources and plenty of volume, and there's not a single day where I don't buy at least 10....20 domains. Say 15 domains x 365 days= ~ 5500 names. You can easily buy this in a year if you are a fulltime domain investor and put the work in.

Name: (see above)
Sale Price: $1995
Sale Venue: SEDO
Cost Price: $15
Hold Time: ~30 days

This has an interesting story which deserves a post. Open to feedback on whether if there is a better way to handle this situation.

Domain was listed for BIN at $1995 at DAN and Afternic, and Make Offer on Sedo. Buyer contacted me on Sedo with initial offer for $1000. I countered with $1995 as he could have bought for same price on DAN and Afternic. Apparently, the Sedo offer made by me was "binding" for seven days and I was "obligated" to deliver the domain if buyer accepted the counter. So to be on the safer side, I switched DAN and Afternic to Make Offer. Same night, I received a $2500 opening offer on DAN. I immediately knew that I had under-priced this one. I tried contacting Sedo on email (they have no live chat) on whether it was binding on me to deliver this domain, and it was under offer at another marketplace. After 24 hours, I got a pretty vague response with no clear direction. I was too tired to figure it out further. I messaged the buyer on DAN asking him if he had placed an offer on SEDO, and asked him to just accept my counter there. Buyer obliged and saved himself some dollars.

I have since converted all my Sedo names to BIN as well. I had observed a good uptick in offers while they were on Make Offer, but this process is too complicated to manage. So, all BINs on SEDO for now.

And finally, buyer refused push to Godaddy, so additional 30 day wait for the domain get out of the 60-day lock and be transferred out.

Fun experience. Buyer got a great deal. I got a great ROI. Reinvest, and repeat.
Sorry but I don't get this. Why did buyer make a higher offer on Dan? Was he not aware you countered his offer on Sedo?

Edit: Oops! Sorry, I get it now.
