Hey!

my First Name has 4 Letters, let us imagin my Name is Elon Musk as an Example.

Should i buy elon.info for around 200-250$ from the seller that listed his Domain on Sedo & Afternic or should i just register elonmusk.com that is still available?

The Website should be a Portfolio Page.
The .info Domain is registred since 2001 and in the year 2013 someone bought it for around 80-90$ on Flippa.

Please help me, i am not sure if i really should pay that much for an .info domain. Would it be .me it would be a different story. The Name is btw taken in all good endings.
Even .tech .store .pro … is gone, just .page would be available.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Depends on how long your last name is.
I would never buy .info xxx unless very popular name

ElonDomains
LastNameDomains dot com of course.
You may get .info cheaper than listed. Search other marketplaces and β€œFistName.info” in quotation marks at google to see history.
web.archive.org too

I would rather have FirstLast.com for branding than First.info in most cases.

The only exception would be if your name is very long, and difficult to spell or remember.

Yes what MOMD and Brad said.

But why are you stuck on .info for solely first name, have you considered other extensions that may invoke more attraction for a portfolio site?

*edit: N/M saw you mentioned taken in all good extensions, understandable.

Many thanks to all your help guys! I gaved everyone a thanks + agree

LastName.com is unfortunately not availble. My LastName has just 4 letters but not that easy to prounounce.

Would you guys make a FirstLast.com or:
First.page
Last.page
Last.one
Last.it
Last.tech
Last.blog

Thank you guys :)

I personally still like FirstLast.com. They are very good when it comes to branding.

Obscure extensions just add friction when it comes to marketing.

Since your firstlast name adds up to just 8 characters I'd go for the .com.

Owning first in .info is nice as a forwarder or something, I don't think it's a high ask for just the kick of owning your name in a gtld :).

You mentioned you last name isn't that pronounceable. You may be able to secure it in .net/.org for an affordable price. [email protected] isn't too bad either.

If I were you, I’d register FirstLast.com just to own it, even if you decide to go with another name for your blog.

why don't you get both?

or better:

FistnameS.info
and
FirstnameLastname.com

I 've done it that way

I agree, and if you have wife/husband and children, I would register those too if they are available. Just to own and secure.

Check if your name is available in .me

.me has a better resale value than .info

So? FirstnameLastname.com for you is only under $10/year. And for many people they are almost impossible/unaffordable to get. Surely you have bought that already, no?

maybe your right, but i am thinking like that:
My first and last name is not that popular and right now i donβ€˜t need it.
But firstname.info the value is increasing
