With so many extensions available for as less as 2 dollars hand registration, is the .COM living on borrowed time? In 10-15 years time will .LIFE be the same as .COM in valuation? Or is the .COM living on borrowed time just now...
Only people who think .com is top spend thousands of dollars (or even more) on a .com domain name. Why spend thousands of dollars on a .com when you can register another extension for a few bucks? There is no benefit. That other extension could actually be more fitting.
The TLD .net is not dead, it is just not top (like the TLD .com and every other TLD, except the TLD .top (also not dead but >>> top)) and a thread about .net would most probably result in pointing this out by those who are aware of it.Now we can start other threads like " Is dot net dead?"
This is because they think .com is top.The end-user (non-domainers) doesn't understand or care about dotwhatever. I recently registered a dotclub name for a golf club I belong to and offered to give them the name because their current domain name is a long dotcom and this dot club is shorter and easier to remember. It confused their web people and they said no to this shorter, free dotclub domain name.
The thing that a Rolex and .com have in common is that both are not top.Why buy a Rolex instead of a Casio? They both tell time.
.COM is the most popular and valuable extension because of actual usage. There is far more demand for .COM than every other extension combined.
If someone is considering paying a premium for a domain, it is likely going to be a .COM.

LOL.com is on the verge of collapse. it just simply can't compete with the new powerhouses like .cyou & .immobilien
.com and all the powerhouses try to reach the top.LOL.com is on the verge of collapse. it just simply can't compete with the new powerhouses like .cyou & .immobilien
.com is the king, yes.Anytime .Com over any TLDs
i believe looking back at domain history .COM is surely the king and its here to stay for a very long time.
.com may be a Rolls Royce - (or a Rolex -) extension but it is (and will always be) far away from being the top - extension because neither .com nor Rolls Royce (nor Rolex) is top, only .top is top..com is the Rolls Royce extension
I am not sure if .com is really threatened in its existence but I am sure it is not top.The biggest threat to dot com domains are Handshake and Unstoppable domains, with HNS on Namebase.io you can create unlimited TLD's and they cannot be censored, plus no renewal fees, specially once browsers adopt this blockchain naming technology you will be able to create yourown.brand websites.
Now, this does not mean that the rest of the extensions will go away, however it will take some of the market share in the future, potentially overtaking dot com's.
I love when fools argue, gives me more time to accumulate.Coca-Cola is not dead but it is not top either - like .com and its whole market, not one single .com domain name is top.
Once, Coca-Cola owned this famous domain name:
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.com
But Coca-Cola got topped.
In other words, you love being an arguing fool as this gives you more time to accumulate, ok.I love when fools argue, gives me more time to accumulate.

.com is still attractive but not top.Far from.. but most good keys dot com already been used. That's why new extensions are so attractive.
.com is not top my friend.Yeah, no. .com is top. Deal with it.
This is by far the worst assessment because .top is top..top is by far the worst tld.
What I know is which TLD is top and which TLDs are not top.D.I. what is the best tld, is it .com, .best , .or .top ?
What I know is which TLD is top and which TLDs are not top.
What I also know is that top is better than best.
What I don't know is what you mean.
