The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Thanks for the valuable feedback @1Darko

So these fresh new domain landers build on a system that no one can fathom anymore. It doesn't seem like the entire chain has been redesigned, just the outer marketing shell...
Yes, it seems that the landers are linked with the GoDaddy Domain auctions checkout process. The BIN lander only resolves if the domain is in the GoDaddy auctions platform and that the domain ownership match with the Afternic listing. If not you get the lander that the domain is maybe for sale. The solution for us is probably to add the domains to Godaddy auctions - regardless that the domains are already listed at Afternic and the ownership was confirmed.

What we've found is that if you have listed your names on Auctions separately from Afternic (so listed in both places) then the search algorithm prioritizes the Auctions listing which means the BIN lander won't show even if on ns5/6. What I would recommend as a test is to remove names that are directly listed on GD Auctions and see if the BIN lander pulls the Afternic listing instead, thus showing the right page.

You won't lose any exposure on this as Afternic names are fed into Auctions search results for keywords etc.

Hi @Paul Nicks

I've not added my domains to Auctions.godaddy.com, but they are listed automatically on Auctions.godaddy.com by Godaddy, as a result of me adding those names to www.Afternic.com.

Does this count as 'listed your names on Auctions separately', as you mention above? I cannot change this dual listing myself, because it's happening automatically when listing on Afternic.

In the situation you describe, the ns5/6 nameservers are unaware of those domains? They are not provisioned in that scenario? Is that correct?

no that will not impact the listings showing a BIN page.

No its not the nameservers that are the issue. It is the listing priority on our side. But without getting too technical we know the issue and we are working on a resolution so they will work if you have them listed on auctions and Afternic.

I couldn't access without vpn. I'm connecting from China. If Chinese users can't access new 5-6 servers it bill be an issue...

Hi @olcayto

For completeness, are you able to visit the main page of Godaddy.com without using the VPN, from China?

Joe, I just wrote an email to Afternic support.

The domains pointing to the new ns5 and ns6 Nameservers are yet inaccessible from any Indian IP.

Could you please help out in this?

I have just tried again, it doesn’t connect from home wifi but connects from cellular data (both Godaddy and 5,6 landers)
When i use vpn on home wifi still connects.

Probably this is a minor issue that i have to figure it out on my account.

Since i can connect from cellular data than there is no any restriction to China users.

I moved nearly half of my portfolio to new landers. Let's wait and see how it will work.

Would be great an option to Camel Case the listings on the landing page though
Here is the respond from Afternic support

"Since domain names are not case sensitive they are all listed as lower case. This way they display correctly across all of our partner sites."

Thanks for reaching out to them for clarification. So I try not to buy domains like PenIsland.com or ExpertsExchange.com... :xf.grin:

If you want to style your letter case, just use forwarding instead of their nameservers. The landing page is going to show whatever is in the URL:

https://www.godaddy.com/forsale/MyDoMaIn.cOm

Great input, however I think it will have to be done for each domain separately. Most would not bother with thousands of names. Afternic has camel case option maybe they could pull the data from there?

The funny thing is that during the DNS resolution process, the case of domains is cHanGIng cOnStantLy without any problem. This is a security measure, see https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-vixie-dnsext-dns0x20-00

www.ietf.org
wWw.IeTf.OrG

Afternic can simply preserve CamelCasedDomains on its own sites like Afternic and Godaddy, and still distribute their inventory to partners in lowercase. Preserving case within the entire Afternic partner network would be even better. Partners can always decide whether they want to present names in lowercase or not.

The answer from Afternic support makes no sense at all.

True, although some registrars (like NameSilo, possibly others as well) offer the possibility to enter the domain dynamically, by adding a parameter like %%DOMAIN%% instead of the domain. This helps when redirecting a larger amount of names.

Why it is only Bin option , why not added the make offer option ?

In anticipation of a new landing page, I changed more than 300 domain name servers to NS5.AFTERNIC.COM and NS6.AFTERNIC.COM last week, but a week later, BIN price is not displayed and only "This domain may be for sale" is being displayed.
I sent an e-mail asking for a solution to this problem, but there was no answer and there was no improvement, so I was greatly disappointed with the Afternic service.
It will go back to the previous parking page.

That is why I am staying put with ns3 until all the kinks are straightened out.

What about traffic stats after using these name servers? Nothing is shown in my parking uniques. Is there a way to know number of visits and all?
