discuss NamePros Awards

[DN Playbook]

What do you think about the idea of NamePros Awards? I don't mean polls. Because polls can be too easily manipulated.

I am talking about NP members recommending the nominations and a well chosen team of judges that makes the final decisions.

There are innumerable possibilities for categories. Perhaps you can suggest them here.

But this may encourage a higher quality of posts and posters. As well as services, etc.

Like this post if you agree and post your suggestions.

I read and take on peoples opinions I respect and ignore the rest of the garbage, which to be fair is not a huge amount, just a few members here and there and a few of them are on my ignore list - the others I read for amusement purposes - that's enough for me.....

I personally don't need to see anyone being rewarded for doing something they are already doing on a voluntary basis - the people who post shite will continue to do so, with or without an award scheme.......

Just my opinion so don't shoot the messenger........

I will not shoot you. Don’t worry. Lol. An award scheme is being utilized in other industries. We have seen it at NamesCon. Why not here? NamePros has risen to be the de facto forum for domaining. Of course there are niche forums but this would also enhance the brand.

Just an idea that doesn’t need to be taken to fruition.

because they need to be recognized and identified, for what they bring to the table.

actually, i was serious

if, you identify these mo-fo's with an award,
then hopefully (unless other mo-fo's want same award next time)...
they will adjust and conform to a higher standard of professionalism.

Because polls can be too easily manipulated.

We have decent tools to prevent too much manipulation, and we have a lot more in development that we hope will help.

It may make more sense for the community to host and manage them, similar to industry polls.

Perhaps there is a way that NamePros can make it easier and more streamlined for the community to do?

Please offer suggestions.
