You are right. And these people are pardoned or helped by every administration. Nothing new here.
And this is a national scandal (among many):

There are no developed countries anywhere near the US in this regard. Even way ahead of Cuba. Twice as bad as Russia, 5 times as bad as China.

You can expect arrest and incarceration to increase under Biden and Harris, both of whom have a long track record in this.
Yet, amazingly, politicians and the wealthy rarely go to prison for their crimes.
