Hello NamePros community! We are creating a single thread where we can share announcements in, talk about product updates, people can ask questions and host a great discussion on all things domains!

That looks very promising ... thanks
Hello all and thanks for the lively discussion on how we can make Sav better! When people DM us NP we do typically ask them to submit a support ticket first but if you ever get an answer that you want clarification on, please feel free to DM me directly and I would be happy to take a look. In the case of @sava en, we are working with them directly to get this resolved.

Now our most common request is an updated domain manager. We were planning on waiting until this goes live later next week but now is a good of time as ever to share the details!

Here are some of great features:
  • 27 customizable columns, all sortable
  • Complex filtering of domains based on any combination of columns
  • Bulk Update tools to Renew, Update NS, Whois, Lock/Unlock, etc…
  • Organization of domains using Folders
  • Bulk domain search

We are in the final stages of dev and testing now. Please keep an eye out for this later next week. We are very excited for everyone to try it out.

Completing that integration is our #1 priority the second the new domain manager is up.

Wow, the domain manager of my dreams! Sav was already on my top 3 list of registrars, but when this goes live, Sav becomes my favorite one! :)

Well, what I see is that Sav's philosophy is to 1) offer domains for less than anyone else 2) keep their UI as clean as possible. If their business model doesn't generate enough profit then they will need to increase prices, I guess this is in fact a "risk". But I hope that they won't become more expensive than the average of the "good" registrars (e.g. Dynadot, Namesilo, Name.com, Epik). And honestly, the bulk options, the clean UI, the speed of the site, the free backordering, the fact they are accepting Paypal, these would remain great benefits even if the prices were a bit higher.

Updated customer documentation? Fees? Deadlines? Anything to help ease/educate the customers mind?

https://www.sav.com/pages/faqs ... accurate?
For you to retrieve a domain from a redemption period requires a fee to cover our costs and our payment to Verisign, totaling $300.

@Nick R

Hi,
I've completed registration and updated card as payment method. Also provided address for whois records.
Can't bid as it shows "A default WHOIS contact is required to place a bid. Please update on the My Account page."
Plz suggest.

@Nick R

Please check. I've dropped an email too but didn't get any response.

I've just had the worst customer service expedience with Sav.
I want to transfer out a few domains and 2 of them have technical issues - for one the auth code provided by the control panel is just plain wrong and the other can't be unlocked because of a back end error.

Opened a case 4 days ago but the monosyllabic responses are very very very slow and the guy answering (some Hassan without a last name...) doesn't care about getting this solved, only about marking the ticket as "replied". He dragged this with the slow responses until the domains expired and now he is saying that he can't do anything until I renew.

Every serious registrar provides auth codes and unlocks 15 - 20 days after expiry. Some even until day 31.
Looks like Sav doesn't want to be a serious registrar...

@Nick R - you don't keep customers by force. That's how you drive them away.

The mock-ups of the new domain manager look nice. Look forward to trying them out.

As a product suggestion, would also request the SAV team to explore having a pre-pay/wallet system. I typically prefer to load pre-pay/wallets on most registrars as it provides a much smoother checkout experience. Personally, do not prefer to ping the CC/Paypal on each small transaction.

would be great to be able to get auth codes included with domains in excel reports!

Hello All,

We're glad people seem to like the new UI! We are working feverishly to get it completed and live later next week!

@Grilled - We wanted to launch the new domain manager before going through and making in depth tutorials and updated FAQs. There are more updated FAQs on our Support page and i've updated that link within our Sitemap for the next code push.

@Akhilesh.Kumar and @blank - I would be happy to take a look and see what is going on. Can you please DM me your email address and Sav ticket number?

@synecdoche - Our PayPal integration will use the funds in your PayPal account first. If you pre-load your PayPal account it acts just like pre-loading a Sav account upon checkout.

@JudgeMind - Ill add auth codes in the export to our todo list!

@Nick R Hi, Nick! I'm getting this error when I try to update my nameservers: Unable to connect to registry. Please try again.

Could you please take a look when you get a chance?

Thanks!

@Nick R I am facing two issues:

1. I am unable to buy any domain name with a .com extension. It says its already been registered although it's available.

2. Unbale to change the nameservers. I am getting an error

Can you please help?

We are aware of the issue and are talking to Verisign right now to see what is going on. We hope to have the .com link resolved soon.

Today I lost my 2nd Sav auction because apparently none of my credit cards or PayPal will go through (it just gives an error saying the payment failed.... on 3 different credit cards plus PayPal). I have a support request in, but this is really disappointing after I decided to use sav this year.

I like SAV but there are a couple of things which put's me us a domainer to think.
There are nuances which scares me, yes low prices good, but no reserve auction is a big red caution to me, the problems that happen can be caused intentionally to take our domains in specific ways that look as technical errors.
You should read their Terms also, it's allot to read and remember (after reading others TOS i forgot theirs), had to use a special Chrome Extension > Read Aloud i think is named and do other things in the same time.
Also as i m a dreamer and dreams speak to me truths, i had a dream recently that SAV staff have exported the list of all my domains and gave it to someone, but not sure who, then i have seen similar domain as mine in a FB group, did a WHOIS and found out that the domain was registered one month later than mine. The name of the person is having Hasan in it, wonder if this is the same person who reply in support email. Hope this is just a dream and a ordinary coincidence, if not i will report to ICANN and Verisign for sharing my private domains no mater what Policy they have there.
After all this i think if i should still move my other domains to them, but what if any payment fails when the renewal time comes, what do i do, lose the domains so Hasan takes them?
P.s. sorry for my English it's not my native.

does that include fixing the issue I reported here b4 where fresh expireddomains.net .com were showing as taken? u told me to email support about it..but now u say u or they were working on fix for a while... or the two issues unrelated?

I had paypal failed payment once on a simple new reg.. i retired few times and worked... obviously random pay issues should not happen.

they also have autorenew paypal fail. but that is a good thing for me cause they got no bulk to set auto renew off...and no one click expiry date sort on panel .which is beyond lame... so the auto renew better be failing or I wont be happy camper

@Nick R

all in all sav is infested with problems even while being the most lacking in features registrar on planet..

I already fear the tons of bugs popping out when they roll out upgrades...

sav feels to me like this registrar they wanted to open for like 5 accounts.. and suddenly they got 5000 and cant handle it
