LOL, and Americans would've never learned to play hockey. I've never played cricket, but @Cannuck played on Team Canada against the Red Army USSR national team in the late 70's. I still play hockey for LOTR (Lords of the Rink, hehe)

Well, I grew up in the era of boxing on ice. The following year I went to play in Europe, but they didn't like my style, lol, so I got dropped...the team I played for then went on to win the World Championships.

There was also a War Plan Red that was investigated following the 1927 Geneva Naval Conference because the Royal Navy still dominated the oceans. That plan envisioned the USA vs. The British Empire (UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Newfoundland, Hong Kong , Bermuda and other dominions).

There was also a War Plan Red-Orange that envisioned a two-front war with both Japan and Great Britain simultaneously.

When you think about it, both of these scenarios in 1930 involve a huge combined force of largely battle-hardened but war-weary navies and armies attacking the USA on home-soil.

It could have been a very costly conflict.

That secret deal would've been a steal... it's always interesting how Imperial nations can be so sneaky, especially when treaties between the Native people (who never ceded the land) and the Crown already existed. I'm sure non were invited.

I met briefly with Clive down on Cape Hattaras when I was invited to dive on the remains of the USS Monitor using state-of-the-art submersibles back in the early 90's. Storms off the cape prevented us (and the Navy) from recovering the vessel.

Best alternative scenario was a series of books written by Harry Turtledove... the 'Worldwar' series, 1942, in the midst of WWII Aliens attack....everyone.

It certainly does sound alot like RISK. I'm currently reading a couple good books from 1972 - The Summit Series (Team Canada vs CCCP) and the Match of the Century (Bobby Fischer vs Boris Spassky).
