I could only view the video of Laura Ingram. I wouldn't call that shaming. Did she say she felt shamed? I don't usually click on links of the "terrible thing Trump said today" because they are almost always misrepresented or taken out of context. I have heard people talk about Trump's mask shaming, but the only real shaming I have actually seen is of people not wearing masks

Does Japan censor anything like China does? It's even illegal to use proxy servers there (though that's what I had to use when I lived there). My current proxy servers are also offshore and block some US content. I use different browsers to view some of the content/responses in here.

Surprisingly, in many ways there is more freedom of speech here than in the US. The media, though, is cowed by the LDP for the most part, with a few exceptions. And of course, there is the famous Japanese pixelation. They also pixelate people's faces and license plates in photos quite often - but that's because of the strict privacy laws.

It's even illegal to use proxy servers there (though that's what I had to use when I lived there).

Not illegal. Tons of people use VPN here. Maybe some websites or providers don't like it, or maybe if you use proxies for nefarious purposes, it's an issue. But I have never heard of it being illegal. Honestly, the politicians are so backwards here, I doubt most even know what a proxy server is.

I meant when I lived in China (proxy servers are illegal to use there). It was still difficult to use and the Internet was slow when I lived in Japan, since I mostly used cyber-cafe's back then. Prior to that I had the fastest Internet connection in Europe, so it was like going back to the dark ages.

The mathematical anomalies alone are enough evidence that we need nationwide audits
Steve Cortes: Trump outperformed his 2016 support in the largest, deeply-blue cities.

Things change. When I first got on the internet here (via Compuserve) my first internet bill was in the thousands of dollars. I was pissed, but there was no way out of it. Now, from what I hear, our connections are much faster than in the US. China, too, I think. Though everything there is throttle through the state. Generally, East Asia has good internet. (Though for some reason, the advanced AI at Singapore Changi refuses to recognize me.)

Was just listening to the news and Trump said something about see you in 4 years today.

First, I don't think he'll run again.

But for sake of argument, let's say he did.

He has to get the Republican Nomination all over again first. So it's not like other Republicans who want to be President are going to sit back and let him have it, then wait yet another 4 years. They would attack him for his record and everything that is going on now. Many will have to flip the fake love they're showing him now and get at him.

So it's not like if he runs again, it's Trump vs. Biden Part 2 (or somebody else). It's Trump vs. many Republicans first.

Like I've been saying all along, Trump used the Republican party as a backdrop to gain power for his own benefit. The Right backed what they thought would be a winner, but once he got in office, it was clear (at least to this Cannuck and undoubtedly most of the world outside USA) that his agenda wasn't anything but divisive. If he decides to run, or is even allowed to run again in 4 years, he will have to run as an Independent and hang his shingle on the devoted following of Trumpers who somehow feel he has been denied a second term - that will be his platform IMO.

Which would help the Dems if he did that, going Independent. Would take a chunk out of that Republican vote, Dems would cruise to victory. I am wondering if he ran again, would the people supporting him now, go back and support the people they originally did, if they ran again. I know a lot of people here originally wanted another Republican to win, then just fell in line when Trump won it.

Now that we are on predictions. I think Biden will be out within 2 years, and the Trojan Horse Kamala will be president. She will be immensely unpopular.

Four years from now, America's situation will be unrecognizable (as will the global situation). Trump will have his followers, but I don't see him running, and he won't get very far if he does. Some smart Republican will seize the day and get Trump's support, and likely win (assuming no monkey business).

Or things will be so bad that a third party candidate wins, or chaos reins.

By the way, Covid-19 has meant cheap sushi these days. The supermarket maguro is the best we've seen in ages.

Yup, it sure would take a bite out of crime. I won't comment on a guaranteed Democratic win ATM, Biden et. al. will have to prove their metal... it's going to be an awfully difficult road for them while in the current state of divisive and partisan US politics.

Can we get a Pool going on for Trump and his Family and Friends Pardons?

Like how many will be pardoned, when they will be pardoned, will Trump pardon himself and so on.....

I want Jan 19th in the PM for Trump pardoning himself and Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr and Eric.
Give me the same date for Rudy as well :xf.grin:
