I'll give you the best advice of anyone on this forum. People do not buy domain names. Regardless their value, ability or price. I have been a domainer 16 years and I am an industry expert. I have owned 5,000 domains. I would'nt register a free one.

Check back a year from now and you will have made $1000 or less yet spent far more. Believe this.

Not true. Hand regs sell just as fast. I spend around 6 hours a day contacting corporations with domains they could not dream up better. No response. No matter how much traffic, no matter if it is the exact match for their largest product line no matter how important. Everyone is simply too smart for the domain "scam". As an example today I have reached out as I did last week to sell SolarPrice.com which receives 200+ organic direct navigation. While idiots are paying for leads not a single person in their entire staff regardless of size of company can hold a conversation with me. Lawyers, doctors, media outlets...it's all over their heads and to learn or understand simply isnt in their "to do" list!

Good afternoon and welcome.

There are two things that no one can teach you. Instinct and luck. These can sometimes be as important as budget or experience.

Find your 'place' within this industry and work out what 'may' work for you. What you choose may not work in the same was as for others.

If something works from the get go stick with your process and repeat and repeat and repeat.

Everyone is on a different journey and maybe our destinations are the same but enjoy yourself along the way and know when to get off the 'train'.

Regards,

Reddstagg

I am an expert at domains. If you spend 10k you might make 1-2k. If you spend 100k you might break 20k over 2-3 years. If you spend $1,000,000 on domains you won't break 295k. Get my drift? I have personally held over 5000 domains and sent 2000+ emails over 16 years. School never let out people that claim " business professionals" are children at best. It's sales; who you are is of importance never the domain name. Think women. You can be dog ugly with huge pockets and all women want you. Be Brad Pitt with a couple of dollars and back alley nap. You are more important than what you are selling. If you have been in multiple businesses like me you know this as gospel. If you don't get out your CC and take a beating. Please never forget this post. Thank you Reddstagg!

  • Many people don't understand the importance of domain names
    • They would rather spend more money on advertising
