My first post: I'm a beginner, and I need your help. I have been reading a low about the domain industry & I want to take my chances and get it going. Before I start, I have these questions.

Questions: Should I start with inbound or outbound?

If Inbound - Hand reg/2 words/ 3 words or brandable?

  • Where to buy ? - Auctions/ Drop/ Backorder/ Private acquisition?
  • How many domains should I buy? - 10/100+ (My budget is $1000)
  • Where should I list them? - Afternic/Dan/Sedo?
  • How long does it take to get the sale (average) 3-6 months/1 year/ or more?
  • How to appraise value? Godaddy appraisal/Estibot/Name bio/ or DIY
  • Whom should I follow? (expert)
  • Which podcast should I listen to?

If Outbound -

  • How many domains should I buy -10/100+ (My budget is $1000)
  • What kind of domains should I buy - GEO/ Service/EMD?
  • How to appraise value? Godaddy appraisal/Estibot/Name bio/ or DIY
  • How to get started with outbound Email/Phone?
  • How to avoid SPAM?
  • How to sell at least 1 domain a week? (Cash flow)
  • Whom should I follow?
  • Which podcast should I listen to? (outbound only)

If anyone of you can answer these questions, it would be great for me?

Regards.

Welcome @Blurrr many questions hard to answer in a welcome thread. Read read read and do searches here as all questions have been answered many times before. Do not buy, do outbound or waste money until you have learned what is a good name and why. Best of luck to you on your domaining journey.

Spend a few months reading this forum from top to bottom first, if you dont, you will buy names that you wont be able to sell.

Then, pick a niche, buy 1 or 2 names, sell them and them and then reinvest the money into better names. Dont go on the usual buying frenzy we see on here or you will get a shock come renewal time in 12 months time. You will learn the process and how it all works the more you read.

Hello!

First off, welcome to NamePros!

Suggest you search out and read all topics of interest to you and your domain name goals, there are a lot of ideas and info on NamePros.

IF you do outbound do familiarize yourself with all regs re outbound.

And a beginner should learn about TMs before doing any domain name purchasing, IMO.

Hold back that $1000 and spend at least 3 months reading through this forum. Thank me later.

Having said that, welcome to Namepros
