DAN.COM (formerly known as Undeveloped.com) is on a path to be become the biggest domain marketplace in the world. We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

We've been the first on many fronts and proudly will continue to keep innovating. We were the first to offer optimized for sale pages since 2013, the first to provide payment plans in the form of lease to own and rentals and also the first and only domain marketplace offering free SSL on all domains parked with us for over a year now.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Has anyone been receiving Payoneer payouts after the issue was resolved?

I did receive couple of payments and now I see 2 of them in pending meaning they have not been approved by Payoneer yet.

I wish DAN could integrate Payoneer payouts so that we don't face any delays.

@DAN.COM

I've gathered some more features/suggestions and noticed some small bugs.

Features/suggestions
  • First of all it would be nice to create a global roadmap and set up a section on Dan.com where buyers and sellers can post and vote on upcoming features. So your customers know what's currently in the works and Dan.com gets a better understanding of what's important to their customers. It also prevends multiple requests for the same feature.
  • If the 'mininum offer' and 'buy now' amounts exactly match, don't show the 'make offer' button. It has no use and leads to friction.
  • I prefer of the old 'lease to own' box (really don't like the look of the new one). But the 'pay in installments' term contract isn't translated in my local language (Dutch), except for a few words, while the rest of the site is. That might seem a bit odd to potential buyers who want to pay in installments.
  • I would love the ability to add sale prices, and even better: sales prices with a countdown/end date. E.g. domainX.com $2497 -> $1497, offer ends in 5 days.
  • An option to bundle domains (with a discount) would be nice as well. E.g. the ability to sell car.com and cars.com in one sale.
  • Add a search filter for 'buy now listings' and 'make offer listings'
  • The info icon next to a domain name doesn't seem to have a real use, except for lowercasing it? But it takes up a prime spot on the page.

After quite some deliberations I've chosen to show prices including VAT. One reason is that because in search prices are shown without VAT. Which leads to an unexpected price increase for a potential customer.
  • On the domain page if a price is shown excluding VAT, the approximate VAT amount is shown. But the opposite isn't true. If the price is shown including VAT, that's not mentioned at all (anywhere). An idea might be to show it like in the attached screenshot, where it's calculated including VAT.
  • Also imo in the search results the price should be the total price for a consumer. Right now prices are mixed between those with and without VAT.
  • In the screenshot there are also some idea's you might AB-test to improve conversions like showing payments options (obviously related to the language/country), adding USP's, and removing the dot in the price for amounts over 1K.
Small bugs
  • If you don't fill in a phone number on the detail page the following error appears: "translation missing: nl-nl.activemodel.errors.models.checkout.attributes.phone.phone"
  • The info icon next to VAT on the details page is cut off when you hover over it.
The payment detail page could also use improvement, but I'll leave that for another post. :)

Good morning,

Thank you for the suggestions raised.

The majority of them will be relayed to our product team as feedback and product development suggestions. When it comes to not showing your make offer option when the minimum and buy it now price are identical the make offer button is already removed from the landing page. Also, we are aware of the need for the translated TOS and have it listed on the roadmap. The suggestion regarding the limited offer sale prices has been mentioned before as well and is something similar is listed with our product team as well. Our search will be improved shortly and the (!) icon is needed for IDN domains for example.

When it comes to the VAT we have based our current model on extensive a/b testing. The data generated showed that our current model is generating the lowest friction. The mixture of display in our search of course depends on the one listing the domain.

In short, thank you for the valuable feedback and I am positive we can make some nice improvements with it.

Have a great day!

How do I initiate a cashout after a successful domain sales on the dan market place.
Good morning Soneh,

This is best asked through our support chat. However, payouts are made automatically based on your default settings.

Have a great day.

Hi Lazlo,

Thanks for relaying the feedback. Regarding the min offer. It's actually not removed.

Edit. It only happens when the minimum amount that's specified on an account level and the buy now price exactly match.

Dear NTLK,

Thank you for your response.

It might be that I am misinterpreting your inquiry but I have rechecked it. You stated when the make offer and BIN match remove the make offer button as it will lead to friction. I have just tested it with a domain on the platform and noticed that when the BIN and make offer are equal the make offer button is removed.

Could it be that I am overlooking something?

Anyone else seen their 'monthly views' on Dan.com drop off a cliff of late or is it just me !?

Why don't you make those settings in question (VAT) optional in the settings section?

Why don't you answer my request,
I see you don't want to comply.

But ignoring is not a great way to treat a loyal customer.

A German VAT registered business selling to any German
-business or private-

will not need an explanation of what VAT is

and does want the exact number about the VAT amount
and not an estimate.
( by the way, there is no way to estimate 16% )

the only "estimation" is the question if VAT will be due
but that is not called "estimation" but "expectation"

and in that above scenario there always will be VAT
- private or business doesn't matter -

so there is no need to talk about "estimates" at all

Hi Lazlo,

I've temporarily set-up this domain to display what I mean: https://dan.com/buy-domain/partylegging.nl

Buy now and Make offer are both 100. Hope this explains it better.
Good morning NTLK,

Thank you for your response.

I think you are referring to having the default minimum starting offer equaling the buy it now price. This indeed does not remove the make offer option. I will relay this to our product team. However, when entering the same price in the portfolio section as the domain's actual minimum starting offer it should do the trick.

Have a great day.

Dear @frank-germany

We have replied to the same inquiry over and over again. The only way this would conclude for you is when we implement what you think is best for the platform. This is why we no longer replied to the inquiries as we have explained our stance and point of view multiple times in a row.

Best regards,

Can someone offer a bit of advice......

I am negotiating with someone on DAN and want to propose that they make an initial lump sum payment followed by 5 smaller payments

How does it work from a practical point of view? When I look at the Instalment options I can't see how to set this arrangement up

I don't think you can do this unless you contact the DAN guys directly.

my customers are mainly German.
I'm selling to Gemans for more than 20 years

there has never ever been an issue related to VAT

a German doesn't need instruction about VAT
and will be confused when he/she gets one

you know it better?
I doubt it.

Hi Alexej,

Yes, that's the next step! Within 2 months we'll offer our API to everyone in the market to use. We've created a light, medium, and advanced integration type to service the entire market with our solution.

Hi, any news on this? Thanks

I have been wanting the bigger down payment as an option all along. It shows a greater level of commitment on the part of the buyer and not some impetuous click they later regret.

Thanks Lazlo,

To be fair Walter reached out to me on Sunday via support chat to say it is doable - I am now waiting to hear back from the potential buyer

Totally agree.
I actually still don't understand why such advanced platform as Dan don't allow to create custom payment plans. Like Epik (excuse me for the sensitive word). Also, right now make offer only supports one-payment offers. Why not allow buyer to propose his desired payment plan right away? Maybe it will decrease the number of low ball offers because buyer will be able to offer an option that suits his budget best. Same with counter offers, why not allow to respond with custom payment plan?
