Without going into too much detail I just picked up 55 .realty domains, and I'm seeking other NP members input for speed marketing these domains since their renewal is $299 in a year.

Suffice it to say, many of my domains are one word like Dolphin.realty, and two word domains like MoveUp.realty. There are hundreds of thousand of real estate agents in the US, and thousands of new ones getting their real estate license each month.

While I plan to work with Epik in some capacity via landing pages etc., my main plan is to "outbound market" .realty domains and develop a custom website specifically targeting agents, brokers and new agents.

I haven't nailed down the pricing yet, but the domains need to be less than a thousand dollars with options to finance 12-24 months.

I was a little reluctant to share this, but I thought what the heck? Two heads are always better than one and 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. are far better than two.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Thanks:xf.smile:

Not sure yet Joe....domains are now in my personal name, but they might become the property of the LLC, Also, even though there's a 9% commission we may have Epik handle the entire transaction.

On another note i just picked up PreQualify.realty, a name worth filing for TM protection in my opinion. What do you think Joe?
You said you've been paid $1,507 for the two domain names. But you're retaining the domain names. So it sounds like the payment was for services. What services are you offering?

As for the TM idea, I've never found value in spending extra money to file for one. There wouldn't be a point since I'm not actively using my names to sell goods or services.

You think:xf.wink: Between running a little business I've owned since 1987 (National 1099), juggling startups like 9Time, Discover Scotch and Broad Bay Realty, LLC., it's a wonder the domain business keeps rolling. Thank God I'm borderline ADD or I'd never keep up. As for PreQualify.realty, I'm meeting with a top mortgage broker and a friend who owns FetchaQuote.com this week to discuss online mortgage approvals.

Finally, it's been about a month now since the .realty domains went on sale, and like Rocket Mortgage we're fueled and soon to launch(y)

I guess we won't be discussing the "sale" of those two domain names? No worries. I'm glad you're bringing in some money. I just figured the other .realty investors might like to hear about the services you're offering in case they want to use the idea as an alternative to trying to actually sell the names.

Yes, all those businesses of yours must really be cooking along! 9Time alone has been in the works for over a year now, right? I bet that website is going to be mind-blowing when it's ready.

Good luck with the meeting! Hope you "make something happen".

Do you know what it means to Eat Crow Joe? I already told you the business is buying the domains from me.....is that too hard for you to understand:xf.rolleyes: I know you're here to try and discredit me, but my agenda differs considerably from yours. Didn't I already tell you that most domains I create have a business model/plan behind them? You just might want to give it a rest Joe and concentrate on selling Nichols.realty.
Good Luck!

Actually you said the following:
I'm looking at two checks made payable to me personally, one for BroadBayRealty.com for $1,132 and the other for BroadBay.realty for $375 just as soon as my site goes live in 30-45 days.
Which means there is a condition on the names being sold: your site going live.

This is vague, so I was hoping for clarification:
  • What site do you mean?
  • Why does it have to go live before you receive payment?
  • Are you selling the names alone, or services as well?
No intention to discredit at all. It's just that your sale disclosure was not clear.

Don't have time to mess with you Joe....i know you're anxiously awaiting my every post. All you get with this one is that I just registered the domains Library.realty and it's .com compliment, LibraryRealty.com. I'm sure you'll never figure out why, but if you would meet me at my office (the library:xf.wink:) I'm sure you'll understand.

Joe...thanks for rooting for me. In the last few hours I registered;

Minority.realty
Cultural.realty
Ethnic.realty

Followed by;

CulturalRealty.com
and
EthnicRealty.com

with all the contrived social unrest in America, these are perfect domains to promote housing to Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and American Indians. I would have liked to own Progressive.realty, but someone beat me to it.

I feel like you may have missed the mark with those...

"Minority" and "Ethnic" are buzz words that privileged white folks like us have used for a long time, but I'm not sure the communities you're targeting will identify positively with them.

out of context as usual Joe. I'm sure you're aware of the target audience for these domains:xf.wink:
Nice and vague as usual, Rich. Well done.

Since starting this thread a little over a month ago I've personally added another 450 .realty names to my portfolio. All told about 14,000 names have been added to the .realty registrar since the .99 cent promo was started by Epik on September 26th. Pause.....so in the middle of keying this I planned to say this experience has been a whole lot like fishing where I've caught some citation's and some keepers. For those of you who don't know what a citation fish is, it's a trophy, an accolade, an award, a prize. Then i diverted my attention from keying this to see if Citation.Realty is available, and Voila! So I register it as well as CitationRealty.com that was available as well. Then for a little topping on my new trophy, I see where Estibot appraises my Citation.realty for $1,600.

Getting back to the fishing analogy....like Forest Gump said, “Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” This is what makes domaining so much fun for me.
My domain boat is full with citations and keepers, and it's time now to prepare them to sell. Oh, like with real estate, you can try to sell your domains yourself, or you can get help from the likes of Epik etc. As for me, I plan on using every tool in the shed to sell my .realty and xxxxrealty.com domains.

Finally, i know some of you have sent me encouraging messages, and I especially want to thank Joe Nichols of Nichols:xf.wink:Realty for all his help.

Let the prep work begin.....

Thanks for the shout out, Rich, but I just sold Nichols (dot) realty for $1. The dot realty roller coaster was fun while it lasted, but that 1% ROI was too tempting to pass up.

Looking forward to hearing about all your sales too.

LMAO....i knew you would get a kick out of my shout out:xf.smile: So why when I key Nichols.realty, it shows it's still for sale for $999:xf.rolleyes:

Question for you Joe? Of the two domains I bought earlier today, which is the one most likely to sell?

Citation.Realty
or
CitationRealty.com

Maybe I should have registered BoGo.realty where you could buy one and get one free, but i see where someone already picked that up on 10/15/20. Was that you Joe?

Looks like the current owner must have listed it at that price.

Have you heard of WHOIS, Rich? It allows you to look up the details of a domain name, including the current owner. It looks like Anonymize.com owns Nichols.realty now.

The better question might be if there's a decent chance for either of those names to sell.

No, my foray into the .realty game is over now. I was thrilled to get out with my 1 cent profit, so I don't want to push my luck.

I use WHOIS all the time Joe, but thanks for the tip.

I feel real bad for you Joe so I'll throw you a bone....i just registered Accelerated.Realty, but Accelerate.realty is still available for .99 cents. And if you need a loan you might try Accelerated.loans:xf.wink:

Ever caught a citation Joe:xf.grin:

If anyone is still looking for .realty domains the below might give you some inspiration......

words-to-use.com/words/real-estate

Buildable.realty
BuildableRealty.com
Adorable.realty
Reasonable.realty
Wooded.realty

Actually i know a number of home builders who may have an interest in "Buildable Realty" Thanks again(y)

You got a lot of value Rich for a very small amount of money here, great move by you :)

Hop to social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) and simply do massive outbound - there are many real estate agents with very bad names.

If you do price names like Dolphin.Realty with $999 tags, you have tons of chances to sell them in that year period.

You can try to sell names like that also for 5k, but liquidity will be much smaller.

You have to start NOW. If you will make a lot of plans, the year will pass quickly, and math will not support those 299 / year renewals. Start doing outbound using social media.

GL :)
Marek...there are still a lot of good .Realty names to register. Just today I registered;

BigBang.realty
HomeLife.realty (Estibot valued at $1,100)
LittleHouse.realty
SilverStar.realty
Touchdown.realty
TopGun.realty

As it turns out many of the short catchy two word domains are as memorable as the one word. I know you're a realtor so I'm sure you can appreciate how .realty fits. Remember the movie Top Gun? A local realtor/broker formerly a Naval Aviator F/A-18 Hornet went to Top Gun school, and I can't wait to see his reaction when he learns I own TopGun.realty. I also happen to own another dozen or so .realty names for neighborhoods/communities here in Virginia Beach the Top Gun realtor serves. Each community has a population over 5,000, and 2,000+ homes. One part of my strategy is to bundle community .realty domains to sell to big brokers for their individual realtor/agents.

That's it for now, and Good Luck!

Sounds good Rich :) I think you have full inventory now, ready to go.

Price them at $999 each (IMO), and I am sure you will sell a few very quickly.
Keeping fingers crossed!!!

PS: will you be sending some information in PDF to prospects vie email/DMs, or are you going to call them? Realtors always pick up their phones and are friendly in most cases, so maybe calling is the best way!

Thanks Marek....i plan on pricing all my .realty domains under a thousand dollars, and a sweet spot for me has been $875.
Being a realtor yourself you know, "realtors always pick up their phones and are friendly in most cases". While I still plan on using email and some snail mail (post cards), personal contact will be my main focus. Fortunately I have a friend who has had more experience with telesales than I have, and he'll be working with me to develop the best strategies.

Realtors are always looking for ways to get more listings and make more sales so if a new name like International.Realty or TopGun.Realty accomplishes that, a thousand dollars is a small price to pay.

Anyway, opportunities like this don't come along very often so shame on me if I don't take advantage of it. Thanks for your input(y)
