Ignoring Estibots appraisal value, from your own experience and given the data that you see, what would you price this domain at if you owned it? What's the highest realistic price you'd give this domain if you owned it, and what's the minimum price you'd give it?

I don't own this domain
. It's up for grabs if it interests anyone. My main reason was to bring it hear to analyze with anyone willing to give me their opinions on why this domain either sucks and why they'd price for as low as they'd gave it, or why it's pretty good or great and why they would price it as high as they would.

I think considering that the recent prices that the domains with these keywords sold for were a little over $4K, some being $1k and $2K, I think I could maybe get away with my highest price being in the two thousand something range. Like $2,000. I wouldn't be expecting to ge that much though.

Maybe my high expectation price would be like between $1250 and $2000, that would be like, the price I'd like to get for it I guess for buy now, and then my low expectation reserve or minimum offer price would be like minimum offer $250 and reserve $500 maybe? What do you think?

Buy Now: $2000, Floor: $1500, Reserve: $750 Minimum Offer: $375

OR maybe even lower that?

Buy Now: $1250, Floor: $750, Reserve: $500 Minimum Offer: $250

What do you guys think? Would this be a reasonable price for this domain? Or would you go way lower?

Thanks in advance to anyone that joins in here! I'm just trying to learn how to evaluate and price domains on my own using the tools that are provided. Thanks for all your help on my journey!

And sorry this post is so long winded, but I hope the feedback that I may receive here helps other newbies like myself!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
This is worth $0

The name is too long, it has no sales history and registered in a single extension (.org) that I can see.

You cant look at Namebio results for the 3 different words seperately and think that has any bearing on this name. Try putting "FashionDesignerGuide" in Namebio, or even "FashionDesigner", that will give you a better idea.

"I'm just trying to learn how to evaluate and price domains on my own using the tools that are provided.

These were not provided to appraise domains, these are designed to make you to register crap names. When new domainers see a Godaddy appraisal for $5000, where do you think most of them will register that domains, yes correct GODADDY!!!! Think about that.

The best thing you can do is to promise yourself never to go to the Estibot or Godaddy appraisal pages again. I have seen that advice given to you a few times and you seem to ignore it, you need to listen and learn or you will keep wasting money.

The best way way to learn domain value is read and study this forum for a while first, ask questions, watch recent sales? why did they sel? Who bought them? What other names do they own? What are new startups using? etc etc

It is not a bad name but I don't see too much retail value. It is ok for developing a "Fashion Designer Guide".

It is more a blogger/webmaster project rather than the one of a bigger company.

This kind of clients don't spend much money on the names. In one minute I found these available:

AllFashionDesigners.com
FashionDesignZone.com
FashionDesignerDirectory.com

You name is slightly better of these (maybe) but not 2000 or 1000 or even 500 dollars better...

I think you should really take time to read all the free knowledge that is available on the forum.

After a few months you will know better how to invest your money.

I am doing this for 15+ years and I don't have all the paid subscriptions you bought in a small time...

I don't say it is wrong, but to do things properly it takes the time to learn. Tools will not teach you anything, they can be useful if you know how to use them.

Take my post in the right way, I see you are serious about domains, but take some more time to understand things better...

EDIT: I just noted you didn't register it. Good! You are in the right direction if you want to learn more before registering any name that looks decent.

I'm not ignoring the advice? I think I see some on here who still recommend using Estibot, maybe not really for it's appraisals skills as they're inaccurate, but more so for the other data it provides, like the monthly searches / exact monthly searches and the CPC? I mean, I guess I could stop using Estibot all together after my month is up. But until then I think I'll continue to at the very least use estibot for the other tools and data.

As for Namebio, you say "These were not provided to appraise domains, these are designed to make you to register crap names." You're including Namebio in this, right? NameBio should not be used either then because it's also just another tool that was made to get people to buy crap domains? Am I understanding you right? Cuz it looks like a lot of people here recommend using NameBio. 😐

Am I understanding correctly that you don't look at that data at-all? I mean I get not going by or taking estribots appraisals into consideration, but not even looking at the monthly search volume and cpc? Or going to Namebio to help Guage what similar domains are selling for? You don't look at the comparable domains that have sold in Godaddy appraisal's results?

You just simply look at the recent sales? why they sold? Who bought them? What other names do they own? What the new startups are using? And you buy and price you're domains based just those things?

If I misunderstood something about your response Forgive me.

Yeah, lol I didn't register this, it was simply an example to use to elicit more responses which would help me better understand what to look for and what to ignore based on the feedback.

Like I learned something new from gilescoley, and that is that I shouldn't type individual words in namebio I think. Instead type in the words together I think is what I got.

Thanks for the response! I didn't register this domain to be clear btw lol. It was just example to analyze.

Don't spend more money on paid tools till you know if you really need them.

Don't register domains till you will learn more. Even if you can afford to loose money it is wiser to use your time to learn things and not searching domains if you don't have the knowledge at the moment.

Come here a couple of hours a day and use the time to read, read and read.

Last thing, when you will learn more don't stop studying and improving yourself. I still do everyday and I still learn new things after 15 years here.

Good luck. :)

Yes you did misunderstand, Im defiantely not including Namebio. Namebio is showing actual sales, totally different story. This is a fantastic tool (DNJournal.com too) to check if similar names have sold, and do these before buying the name, not once you have bought it.

Its the automated appraisal tools you must stop using (Estiot, Valuate etc) If you keep using them then you are ignoring the advice, it will cost you if you keep using them, you cant get an apparaisal for something automated like that, there are a lot of "human" factors come into play with domains. I promise you, it will save you money in the long run. :xf.smile:

If at all you are willing to spend some money, and since you seem to be detailed oriented looking at the way you structured your question, I highly recommend the DNAcademy course.
It is not very expensive and it will fast track your learning curve.
Plus they will teach you how to use all the tools to take informed decision using Data.

Estibot and GDD appraisals are only useful when you create a sales thread on here or flippa to beautify the sales pitch, that's all.

Do you work for Estibot? You have too many Estibot threads and just ignored what other members said about them.

If a domain is good as a blog it is generally only going to make money once it has traffic and a site. The commercial value only equates to work if it isn't driving traffic to brands. You price this low $xxx and renew it till lose faith in decision we all cull delete names improve portfolio and gtlds are slowing resale on 3 words. I have some 3 words but if they aren't going to bring customers time to scrutinize decisions without bias and look at history on sales.

Oh man! You got me! Someone who works for estibot would definitely make multiple posts bashing how inaccurate of a tool it is. 👍🏽

Ahh gotcha! I mean, after I have been coming here for the past few days, I definitely haven't made any purchases based on the automated tools like estibot appraisals or gate since I've joined here. I simply included the appraisal in this post just because. I should have left it out.

Anyway, so I think I get it, NameBio and DNJournal are really good for checking and watching recent sales and sales history. it's the recent and past Sales history that is one of the most effective ways in determining what you should compare and price your domains at? What did the domains sell for and when, why did it sell. Who bought them and so on.

Okay, but what tools do YOU use personally when you want to check the keyword search volumes and cost per clicks? I've seen people throw around Google keywords planner to be used as well, I've never used it, does that give you cost per click info? I imagine it gives search volume as well.

I found a website called Wordstream.com, i don't know if you've heard of it but I downloaded like all of their top searched keywords for cost per clicks.

It is about 300 bucks, and it is easy to lose 300 on shit domain in the first week of domaining anyway, so best to get that education.
Many basic things you will pick up along the way but you will get all the info in a platter. Just check out the short videos of DNAcademy on youtube and you will get sold.

Check out this podcast too, and you will get a better idea of how valuation is done.

I dont use any tools for search volume, cost per clicks etc, end-users dont care about that, if they want the name for a new project, they will buy it.

Use these 2 find other domains/businesses registered with exact or similar keywords, those will be the end-users you approach with the name. Dont think you will buy names and just park them, list them on every marketplace and they will sell, doesnt work like that unless you have really good names, which cost $$$$. Find buyers for your names is the best way to sell, unless you have the patience to wait years and even then, no gaurantee they will sell.

https://member.expireddomains.net/t...om&sortby=startswith&sortdir=asc&checksearch=

For instance, I put in FashionDesigner and 311 domaisn come up, one was TheFashionDesignersGuide.com which redirects to another site, that might be an possible buyer.

I use https://dotdb.com as well, put in your keywords and it will show you use extensions registered.

Hi Blogspotter! I gotta say, I'm VERY VERY interested in how YOU came to the $300 price? Two others so far said the domain is worthless, that it's worth $0. Yet here you are, VIP, throwing out $300 Pricing for it? This confuses the CRAP out of me and it would be very much appreciated if you helped me out here or even if you feel like messaging me directly, that’s fine!

How did you come up with this number? What Website or other info dud you consult to help you come to this $300 price?! Like did you use NameBio or something else or Namebio PLUS something else like DNJournal?

$300 might not be too much for a lot these domainers here that are looking to make a lot of money flipping domains.

But $300 is a lot to me. Even $200 or $250 I'd be stoked to get it as it would have helped pay for a lot of the crap domains I bought mistakenly. That’s a lot of money to me actually. So please help me out!

I mean DNAcademy fees is about 300 (I checked again it is 399), and it is better to spend that forst 300 on the course since it is easy to spend 300 on crap domains initially
