I used to work in that sector on drilling exploration in the Arctic, which led to a better understanding having been there, done that - no sensationalizing or debunking, just better understanding.

It happens when you get get an education and try talking to people who don't have a clue what you're saying. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree (of knowledge) and few apple trees grow around here.

Shell stopped Arctic exploration.
You mustve been giddy that day
UhOh 5 yrs later; Shell makin Arctic comeback

Of course, that's one theory. There are inorganic theories that would mean a virtually limitless supply of oil. They are not widely accepted, but haven't been disproven either.

Oil may be plentiful, but it is a finite resource. Remember the oil shortage hoaxes? Gas prices went through the roof. That led to smaller cars and a new industry was born. What about the recent glut? Russia/SA bidding wars... still don't wanna go green? It's not really up for debate IMO, logic and sense outweigh the economics IMO.

Wars are started because of oil. Can we block out the sun? Yes we can, it's called Nuclear Winter...hmm

It wasn't a day, took 5 years of my life... but Trump wants to begin it again in the Alaska Wildlife Refuge (search and ye may find)

That's good news for the planet! Assuming the information and source of that claim is legitimate, but from this data, at first glance, at least if appears hopeful. Shows it can be done. Let's try to keep it that way (y)

https://www.iea.org/data-and-statistics/data-tables/?country=WORLD&year=2017&energy=Balances

On the other hand, it could be speculation, false data or misinformation, but I prefer the good news.

It's all nonsense imo. We are not going to stop climate from changing. We can take care of the earth as it should be.

You think? What have you done to help take care of the earth? Planted any trees? Cleaned up the ocean?

I taught my children to always leave the campsite, trail, river, lake cleaner when they left, then when they arrived. I practice practical conservation; reduce waste, recycle, reuse. Grow your own food, buy local when you can.

What are you doing?

Good on you (y) If we all kept the earth as we found it, there would be natural places for our children's children to enjoy.

What have I done and what am I doing? I've planted over 100K trees, learned from experience and through years of natural science, not just visiting websites and media. I live within my means - close to nature, researched and developed clean energy, invested in green technology, built a solar farm, also practice 3R's, and that's just for starters...

Having built and developed cars that go FAST may seem hypocritical, but I enjoy the perks of the auto industry - as well as experimenting with electric vehicles. Over the last decade or so, I've been working with electric vehicles. I built an electric bike that can collapse into a suitcase, yet has the ability to traverse and meet the demands of the worlds most extreme environments. In fact the bicycle was invented after trains!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_bicycle

The first practical electric vehicle was developed in the 1880's, around the same time as the internal combustion engine. It wasn't until Henry Ford began mass production that the auto market exploded. He was an innovator, just as Tesla was, but for JP Morgan who tore down the experiment due to greed.

I forgot to mention that, I do grow my own 420, but hardly smoke any. When I do on occasion, it's purely recreational. I use it for medicinal purposes using a cryogenic process that I developed to reduce it to a pure compound, combined with Eastern and traditional Native medicinal herbs to be applied topically. Having played ice hockey and survived a number of car crashes, I prefer it to the opioids the medical industry has become addicted to.

It's not about me, nor is it about US, it's about us - the human race, living on a small planet in space traveling around a hot sun. It's not a Left/Right blame game IMO. It doesn't really matter who wins this election, the same people will be in power. I just look at it from the outside and call it as I see it. I appreciate what info people offer, and if it makes sense, I adapt. That's what humans have been doing all along, but what have we forgotten? That's part of the re-invention process.

As a society, the West in particular have become so comfortable in creature comforts and instant gratification that we have become complacent. The East is catching up and will continue the cycle, but even at a greater rate, since their population is MUCH greater. It is simply unsustainable for the planet using current technologies.

We've turned off and tune out, or we tune in and turn off IMO. We could argue about it all day and night and nothing gets done. I have better things to do, that's enough education for now...time for the meme machine to get rolling again :xf.wink: Cannuck out :beaver:

We are in agreement. We need to change the way we think about the environment.

Making doomsday predictions that do not come true, while exploiting your audience and making hundreds of millions, owning huge estates, beach front home, planes, etc. is not the path. It just alienates thinking people.

We can disagree on how to manage resources but not that we need to manage / care for the planet.

Welker deleted her Twitter account last week, heading off a more complete look at her past statements and views. It was later restored.

Anyone who’s ever dealt with Welker knows she’s an activist, not a reporter. The White House press team views her the same way they would AOC or Pelosi if they walked in the office,” a senior White House official told The Post.
Why do Republicans agree ALL the time to Liberal Moderators?

IMO these debates should have 2 moderators: A Liberal to question Trump and a Conservative moderator to question Biden... that would be the fairest.

I can already see the type of BS, insignificant questions that are gonna come out of this Liberal cow!

Maybe I'm just tired, but that is metaphor gumbo to me. I am just saying, I like Einstein but I am tired of seeing Einstein quotes about life, love and God as though he was a prophet. One can be brilliant and still be terribly wrong.
Don't know if it's true or not, but from a very early age I was told that Einstein didn't know how to tie his shoe laces!

It's a mystery to me too. There is an "official" commission that stages the debates since 1988. Time to get rid of them imo.

Fifty Cent , TI and Ice Cube are going to vote Trump ... it’s starting to get partly cloudy now ... but the storm is coming and the machine will follow ...

nothing happens by the Silent Majority until Nov 3rd ... same as 2016 .. no early voting for us .... we wait until game day... but we are warming up right now

it’s obvious that the left is going to have their way ... they have through out the riots and anarchy ..Social Media and ect ... ‘Tis ok though.... they have big surprises coming soon

except this time around ... I don’t think Trump is going to leave anything up to the governors or mayors to take care of .. he will do it himself

Deep state is getting a little desperate, still trying to convince the public that Vladimir Putin stole Hunter's laptop.

More than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed on to a letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” [Politico, tweet]

From the letter: “We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement,” the letter reads. But, it continues, “there are a number of factors that make us suspicious of Russian involvement.”

But having the earmarks should settle it, along with a strong belief lol.

[RedState]
Many of the people who signed appear to be outright partisans for Joe Biden, including people affiliated directly with his campaign.
Let’s also not forget these are some of the same intelligence officials who swore by the Steele dossier.

Dr Atlas, a respected neurosurgeon, scientific researcher and educator provided an opinion based on research, that mask have limited effectiveness and you had a meltdown.

Dr Atlas was censored and you called him a liar. How would know anything except what the media tells you when you dismiss any contrary information?

Not a virologist, a Trump puppet who Twitter handled for posting false/out of context information. I posted the full pdf he quoted from. Masks work.

Because it's a stupid question and a false comparison. Intelligent, qualified people can have different opinions. You don't have to be a virologist to understand viruses or read and understand scientific research.

It's not a stupid question. You use experts, people in the correct field. Somebody who does this day in and day out, who have dedicated their life to it vs. somebody in a completely different field who might have read about it some.

Apparently, everyone who disagrees with climate hysterics is funded by evil fossil fuel.

United States Led Entire World In Reducing CO2 Emissions In 2019.

Apparently you still can't read. I posted facts, it's right on that page, that group is funded by fossil fuel companies.

You actually tried to use PragerU to argue against climate change, another grouped funded by them.

Any site, big group out there saying climate change isn't real, is most likely backed by fossil fuel companies.

Anybody out there against masks, is usually some Conspiracy nutters or people making a bunch of Made for Adsense sites, trying to profit on views the majority don't share.

You guys eat this stuff up, because you're gullible.
