Hi everyone,

I’m very excited to share some of my top domain acquisitions of recent time. My last post on acquisition was in March 2020.

Today I’ll start once again by sharing another 3L domain FLM.com which I recently acquired. This is my 3rd 3L .com domain purchase after GRO.com and EJH.com and I’m very happy with this domain to be added in the portfolio.

QMBS.com, MMDW.com and FOIK.com – As always I’m slowly acquiring 4L .com domains and I like the formula of Shane Cultra of having 7%-10% of 4Ls in a portfolio and I’m having somewhat around 7% of 4Ls in my portfolio as well.

TAQ.org and TAS.org – I’ve purchased a few 3L .orgs to date but so far no success. Though I’m very confident in selling 3L .org in the future.

LEN.CO, HIH.CO, HJS.CO, LiveStreaming.CO, Parkinson.CO, Comms.CO and Agro.CO – I’ve had good success with .CO domains by selling several domains in 4-5 figures. 3L and 1 word domains are good to invest in my opinion. Rarely I’ve invested in 2 word .CO domains like LiveStreaming and maybe I’ve two more domains of 2 word at max.

OnlineCharity.com – For many years, I’ve witnessed that “online” keyword is in constant demand and both these terms together makes it a good domain.

RehabMed.com – Short version of Rehab Medical, Rehab Medicine and even Rehab Media. I like this short one better than all variants. That’s just my opinion. What’s your take?

TheRay.com and TheToken.com – Domains with “the” keyword works very well and lately the prices are skyrocketing unlike in the past where we could buy such domains for a reasonable amount.

EmilyJane.com – This domain has a very interesting story. I sold this domain previously in 2013 for $5,165. Recently I checked this domain was not resolving to the page which it used to be in the past. I contacted the previous owner but they didn’t own it anymore. I found this domain was under brokerage of GritBrokerage so I had to get in touch with them to buy it. Thanks to Brian Harbin of GB for making the deal smooth and all ended well.

Vivante.com, WildThyme.com, EcoSun.com, FirstServe.com, RainbowCrystal.com, WireFree.com, EliteAgency.com and ArtWood.com – These are the types of domains I really like to invest in. With current hot auction prices, I’m now focusing more on private acquisitions and these are not easy to acquire both in terms of negotiation as well as prices.

Architeck.com – Another example of one word brandable domain.

PowerOfYes.com – Although it’s a 3 word domain but I believe it’s a good domain with positive meaning attached to it.

LeveragedFinance.com – Already have a very few finance related domains so this one was a nice little addition to the portfolio.

Torben.com – Quite a popular name as per LinkedIn which shows 19,000 people.

Labio.com – It means “lip” in Spanish language. Also it’s a 5L, pronounceable and highly brandable domain. Not only this domain can be used for lip surgeries, cosmetics, etc. But it can be used for other different purposes due to it’s catchy brand.

GlobalCrypto.com – A domain selling in 6 figures in the future :xf.wink:

Many of those domain acquisitions were private and I regularly use DotDB service for buying domains as it helps in understanding how many potential endusers already exist. So make sure you’re using DotDB and their PRO plan is recommended for which you can get a 7 days trial in case you’re not sure if it’s worth it or not.

Feel free to share your recent acquisitions and/or give your feedback on the domain acquisitions.

I love how you price your domains. Very strong.

tas - 100000

I'm going to reprice my names over the weekend. I will be raising my bins huge on them.

Yes, it's a good idea to revise your prices because the market is hot and we're unable to replace the similar quality of domain at cheap price so the cost of acquisition has gone pretty high compare to the past.

Good luck and feel free to share your experience how it works out for you (y)

Thanks Abdul Basit vai for sharing your acquisitions again this year.

What a list of names, there is nothing to discuss about your names, as every names is worth learning and researching.

I always get fascinated by your pricing,I understand pricing depends on many things including seller's cashflow and financial conditions which you shared in this post(https://www.namepros.com/threads/how-do-i-valuate-domains-and-set-an-asking-price.951601/).

Great asking price also creates curiosity of acquisitions price, and as a frequent reader of your blog and reading your post on NP, i know you dont like to reveal acquisition price.

But if you ever disclose your acqusition price and negotiations story, I would like to know about bluesolutions.com and globalcrypto.com.

Thanks again, all the best.

Thank you once again Avijit bhai for your kind words and feedback. Always appreciate it :xf.love::happy:

I've been asked similar question by fellow investors after this post so I'll think and see if it’s possible and share it with you all.

Michael Saylor says "domain values are headed for a nuclear level explosion over the next 10-15 years" But I say "only those domains with commercially fantastic metrics will create such an impact." And, your acquisitions meet these criteria. All the best!

How much per name budget do you spend on acquiring domains? May I know?

Average acquisition cost for the last couple of years have been around $400.
Also there is no fixed cost on buying domain. It can start from $xx-$xx,xxx. But most of the time it's in the 3-4 figures range.

We are about to find ourselves in the same situation that bitcoin miners found themselves mid 2017. Out of nowhere, the value of crypto went up and even thought they believed in what they were doing, still, the rapid rise was a shock.

Before you have an all out explosion of price you first has some good moves up, this wakes a lot of people up, and then suddenly everyone has a FOMO moment at once and things spiral out of control. You are seeing this play out in many sectors now, Art, Watches, Stocks, Crypto, Real Estate in many areas etc.

I am sure I am not the only one that is noticing more and more auctions on GD, DC, NJ etc. ending at prices that makes me wonder what's suddenly going on? You are seeing so much more action and while it's upsetting that many names now are beyond what I can afford, it also gives some reasonable hope to those of us holding good names.

I think the price explosion will happen first in 3 main areas:

1. Pronounceable 3L 4L even if its not a real word, these are a lot rarer than some would like to admit.

2. .Com EMD's with high volume searches with an expensive CPC. Here Investors can use numbers to justify price. You have EMD's with 25k monthly exact searches with 7+ dollars CPC, you can build on that and create good presentations to justify 6 figure and even 7 figure prices. You only need a few giant sales within domaining in a short period of time to create complete madness in pricing. This is how the market is working now, many are flush with cash and it means nothing to them, they are just desperate to diversify and to invest in something they believe will sky rocket further and they can flip or in some cases use.

3. Quality brandables. These are not EMD's but startups buy them.

Another factor is the insane amount of money startups are raising. For a startup that just secured 30+ million in financing, that's already spending a few hundred thousand with some branding agency picking colors and slogans, spending 6-7 figure on a domain is not a big deal.

I was so happy to see the pricing of Abdul and Silentpr's comment. We must up the pricing. Domaining is like diamond mining, its so tedious, so much work, mining through hundreds of thousands of names, monitoring different marketplaces, setting alarms for auctions and more. Sure it might be an enjoyable experience, but its still serious work. If we were compensated based on the actual mental work that we do until we locate that one name that we buy many of us would be millionaires every month.

As of now we are still a pretty isolated industry. Everyone knows what a domain is, and thanks to GD going public some investors know about domain aftermarket, but for the most part if you told 100,000 random people you are a domainer or do domaining for a living how many would know what that is? And if they did know, how many would know details of what goes into it?

@AbdulBasit.com Awesome acquisitions my friend! FLM & globalcrypto are my favourite.
Wish you great success with these!

Few questions if you don't mind answering publicly

1. As you told, most are private acquisition. Are these via Namepros? Or by directly contacting the owner via mail or contact form?

2. In second case, how do you convince the owner to sell them for wholesale price? How do you make them believe that you are domain investor? How do you know the domain is available for wholesale acquisition?

Thanks in advance!

1) Direct contacting the owners.

2) Usually I go after domains which are not resolving or has an outdated landing page which is a good sign for you to contact the domain owner. I never hide my identity and my signature (name, number, blog URL) are always there. Some backs out saying I'll be selling for profit to which I don't deny but some are happy to sell their asset.

If someone changes the mind just because I'm an investor, it's his/her choice and I respect that. But I still don't like to hide my identity and go after buying a domain.

That is a great list of acquisitions, you do have the eye and insight to acquire gems for your portfolio.

You asked about RehabMed, my take is the name was a great pick-up as it could cover such an array of businesses, it is quite descriptive for all of them, is quite memorable and looks good in print.

A great add to your list of domains.

Great post, as always!

You should showcase vivante.com here. It is not only Spanish. But also the French for alive (fem.) Like She's alive = Elle est vivante. or a busy street = une rue vivante.

Best of luck and congratulations for the new acqusitions
