Hey guys. I noticed on dan.com this company's .co.uk domain is for sale for ~1.8k USD. There is a previous sell for this website's .nl for $1,425.00. This company is a multi billion dollar company, which resides outside of the US. I know I can't squat the domain nor attempt to slander their copy rights and/or trade marks, but I've owned their .org for maybe 2 years now and wasn't too sure which direction I should take it in. Also if their .uk address has been listed .org probably won't be bad to have it listed too, correct? Especially if they have a sell for their .nl address.

1. What price would you appraise this domain with the information provided? (I probably wouldn't want to release their name to keep their privacy and not attract any phishing related buyers)
2. Would you think I should attempt to list for sale or do something like parking it with "redirecting to .com" with ads?

PS - Their .it site is also open for sale, but it is under "offer" so can't give a figure for that.

Thank you.

$0 wholesale, $0 retail

It depends on the inherent strength of the trademark. A generic word like β€˜shell’ puts a smaller target on your back than a fanciful (made up) word like β€˜exxon’. Good luck!

Without knowing the company it's hard to say. I take it they own the .com? My best bet is they bought the ccTLD because they entered the local market. You're at a big disadvantage without the .NL ccTLD if you are doing business over here.

Without knowing the name, I cannot tell if it's a good move to list the . org.

It's 2 words put together in their language, so it's not necessarily "Shell" nor "Exxon". I would leveraged it more on the Shell side if we were to talk about the company in a general language. That is true about the trademark. Unfortunately it would take a lot of effort to find info on that country's copyright laws to attempt to get the hosting cost and register money back basically. Thanks for the info!!

I can send you the company name if you'd like to discuss it further in a PM. They do own the com, net, and other extensions for their companies usages. Let me know if you'd like to discuss in a PM, so that I don't attract any negative attention to the company. Appreciate the feedback.
