Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
In the emails that go out to let me know I've lost an auction (expired or otherwise), it would be really cool to include the price that the name ended up selling for.

We understand the demand for information on the closing prices of our auctions, however we're unable to share that unfortunately as we can't disclose any information relating to accounts other than your own.

@Dynadot It doesn't have to say who won the auction - I wasn't asking for that, I was suggesting that the notification email could display the amount that it ended up selling for. You already do share this information in your user dashboard when I log-in. I get an email saying I've lost an auction, then I can log-in and see the price it sold for. I was just suggesting that it would be nice to have that price displayed in the email, that's all.

We do show the current highest bid for auctions that are still ongoing, however the auctions would be removed from your account summary and 'auction bids' page when the auction ended. We would still class the final price as private information, as some auction users would not like us to share their purchase price if they're looking to re-sell the domain at a higher price.

This is funny.

When i'm STILL ON the auction page, i see how the auction has ended.

When i closed the auction page earlier, i'm already not allowed to know the end price.

Some ill logic, in my eyes.

The current highest bid is shown whilst the auction is still active, and it is possible for that to also be the winning bid when the auction ends, however this isn't always accurate due to very late bids and proxy bids that may have increased the price. Once the auction is over the final price is hidden to protect the winner's right to privacy. We would never share the confirmed final price as it is up to the buyer of the domain whether they wish to share that, and the publishing or sharing of the final price could affect their chances of selling the domain in the future if they wish to.

this is total nonsense. because anyone can watch any auction and be there til the end and see the final price. how is this any different from sharing this price in other ways? if its publically viewable at auction end anyway

Is Dynadot down again?

I keep receiving scheduled maintenance server errors.

Maybe I missed the notice of schedule maintenance.

But seeing how this has been frequent lately (maybe it's just me, and a problem with my computer / internet?) it is quite the inconvenience to be dealing with a registrar with unreliable up time.

I just had a buyer create a dynadot account to accept a push. And now I can't get in to Dynadot. I don't feel too comfortable informing my buyer that he needs to wait, because the registrar I had him create an account at, is experiencing unreliable uptime, and as such, I am unable to login to initiate the transfer. That doesn't necessarily scream confidence to a buyer, who is now a new dynadot customer by virtue of creating an account to accept the push.

Hope all is well @Dynadot :doctor:

On a new wifi, and am able to log in. Perhaps it was my internet connection? Been having some issues with that lately on my end.

We're sorry for the downtime last yesterday afternoon at around 1PM PST, that was unexpected and was resolved by our engineers as soon as possible. There shouldn't be any problems with the website at this time, and any planned maintenance should only last 1-2 minutes whilst our engineering team carry out work on the backend.

Hello
Having some problems when I try to change some settings for my domain names at Dynadot, like turning privacy 'off' (or 'on'). It seems like these changes doesnt show in the Whois.

Also after entering info into the dns txt-field for a domain name, i receive the following responses when trying to lookup the txt-records for the domain name externally:
"Test": "DNS No Valid NameServers Responded"
and
"Result": "Not able to get a response from name servers within timeframe".

You're welcome, I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve that. The propagation time for DNS changes can vary, so it may be that the changes hadn't yet fully propagated. The Whois information works in a similar way, as we push any updates (such as removing privacy) to our Whois server immediately, however it may take third-parties longer to update their databases.

Am I the only one who can't add domains to Afternic Fast Transfer? It's been like that for me for several days. :'(

I've received about half of the emails needed to verify listings over the years, you'd think they would make a script for resending email for names not listed that were requested. One day when I'm bored I'll probably delete and add to afternic the names not yet verified. =/
