Racism: disliking others based on race, color, nationality, ethnicity, gender, orientation, etc, things those people can't change even if they want to, and acting accordingly. (my current definition).

What does any of this have to do with domains?

No one does controversial threads like @Rob Monster

Why do @epik threads always end up with conspiracy theories and vitriol. Doesn’t matter if it is on Np or domain blogs.

If I was advising @Rob Monster, I would tell him to do everything he can to calm things down, get his minions to return to the topic at hand, and keep pushing the right message.

This is the last free advice I will give. After this I will start charging. :banghead:

Conspiracy theories is a term to discredit the credibility of non-mainstream opinions.
When people saw [someone] not stands with mainstream, they will say [someone] is spreading conspiracy theories. But you have to understand that Conspiracy theories itself is a conspiracy.

Anyway, I love to see people with different opinions instead of single mainstream opinions.

There is a place on this site to discuss things such as this openly.

Linking such discussions to a company brand does more damage than good.

I’m trying to be helpful. But if @epik and @Rob Monster don’t mind having these discussions linked to their brand then that’s fine by me. However, they shouldn’t complain when other media also makes the same link. Hope I am explaining myself.

Some useful info, including my answers to stuff above have been deleted for "being offtopic". No problem. I can say I won the debate (if any), because people against my claims failed to disprove my claims or proofs. If you don't agree you can create a thread and invite me by mentioning my username (@topdom).

Let me remind everyone what type of trickle effect that thread lead to:

<< Link removed as a courtesy to @Samer following a DM discussion >>

I have yet to see an apology from Rob or Epik to @Molly White

@Braden Pollock -- if that thread resulted in further harassment or if God forbid anything had happened to Molly would you or the << name removed >> law firm stick up for Molly or reach out to her via Twitter with sincere hopes to right any wrongs and/or represent her pro Bono?

Why does your company write statements for gab yet turn the cheek to stopping any trickle effect epik judgement errors may have lead to in its tracks? I don't believe I heard a statement from you about her doxxing. Do you not take the doxxing of women seriously at the law firm you represent?

Sometimes taking action can mean taking accountability for the trickle effect that freespeach can lead to if/when it's not practiced responsibly or with ethics.

I mean, the whole world is on high alert for even a speck of racism. It's gotten to the point where Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben are changing logos after 150 years.

Epik is still hosting and active on GAB.com. By the world's current standards, that would be in support of racism. No joke. Just look at all the CEOs that got canned.

I think Epik should temporarily not host GAB until this whole thing blows over. It would look good PR-wise if they made an announcement to do that and did that. Just like all the other multi-million companies that are doing that for minor things. But hosting and backing GAB is not minor lol.

I respect @epik for hosting Gab.

Lots of people here would like to police what others can or can't do. But 'racism' means different things to different people, albeit concensus may be close on some things.

Its hard to put anything in concrete anymore, because everyone keeps changing their views and perceptions on the world. Are they just not wanting concrete? lol. :)

ACLU DOCUMENT:

FREE SPEECH FOR HATEMONGERS?

The ACLU has often been at the center of controversy for defending the free speech rights of groups that spew hate, such as the Ku Klux Klan and the Nazis. But if only popular ideas were protected, we wouldn't
need a First Amendment. History teaches that the first target of government repression is never the last. If we do not come to the defense of the free speech rights of the most unpopular among us, even if their views are antithetical to the very freedom the First Amendment stands for, then no one's liberty will be secure. In that sense, all First Amendment rights are "indivisible."

Censoring so-called hate speech also runs counter to the long-term interests of the most frequent victims of hate: racial, ethnic, religious and sexual minorities. We should not give the government the power to decide which opinions are hateful, for history has taught us that government is more apt to use this power to prosecute minorities than to protect them. As one federal judge has put it, tolerating hateful speech is "the best protection we have against any Nazi-type regime in this country."

First Amendment protection is not limited to "pure speech" -- books, newspapers, leaflets, and rallies. It also protects "symbolic speech" -- nonverbal expression whose purpose is to communicate ideas. In its 1969 decision in Tinker v. Des Moines, the Court recognized the right of public school students to wear black armbands in protest of the Vietnam War. In 1989 (Texas v. Johnson) and again in 1990 (U.S. v. Eichman), the Court struck down government bans on "flag desecration." Other examples of protected symbolic speech include works of art, T-shirt slogans, political buttons, music lyrics and theatrical performances.

Finally, in 1969, in Brandenberg v. Ohio, the Supreme Court struck down the conviction of a Ku Klux Klan member, and established a new standard: Speech can be suppressed only if it is intended, and likely to produce, "imminent lawless action." Otherwise, even speech that advocates violence is protected.
The Brandenberg standard prevails today.

It seems some people have no concept of the effects of being a victim of racism let alone 250 years of it.

It's really annoying to read people posting about hypersensitivity to race, it's not that bad, it depends....and so on.

I have so much compassion for the victims of racism past and present. I think there should be no stopping of protest (aggressive or otherwise) until everyone is equal. I think anyone that is a racist deserves prison.

The focus has to stay of the perpetrators of hate. Not the victims. Racism is wrong. Should be punishable by long prison sentences.

If you don't agree with that, you don't know anything about racism.

Epik has a PR problem. Why hire a Sean Spicer to be the voice of communications?

Perhaps giving @arosener an epik board seat with voting right is the only way to empower @Braden Pollock as a contributing member of epik. Because, as it stands, it doesn't appear @Braden Pollock has any say on how things are ran at Epik.

It seems to me that epik is more so sucking whatever good will is left out of Braden Pollocks name. Tis a shame. Because if Rob or Rob resigned, and/or if Epik gave @Braden Pollock more decision making power, I imagine we'd see a more responsibly ran company.

For any bigots unaware of how to make a culturally sensitive statement, please refer to the last episode of @DomainSherpa for educational awareness.

why do you start a conversation about racism and injustice and then not contribute anylonger?
What do you want him to do? Bend a knee for the ethny?

Will Smith Says ‘Racism Is Actually Rare,’ But Prejudice Is Everywhere

Until such time we understand we're ALL BIAS (open and hidden), hate rhetoric like we see from both the right and the left only fuels the fire.

I voted for Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton, but I can assure you it's unlikely I'll ever vote Democrat again as long as I live. I'm even thinking of registering the domain NadaCrat.com just to prove a point:xf.grin:

The slogan "Black Lives Matter" will never replace "God Bless America" on my watch. And that's a promise you can take to the bank:xf.wink:

It's how each person defines America. Trumps America is very different than George Floyds America.

We don't let crimes go unpunished and we don't let victims not get justice. Right?

So what about that? Where is the justice for the victims of years of racism and crime?

I would like to hear your answer.

Racism is a Biological phenomenon that is worked out, I think we can agree it is positively (worked out in many cases). But the phenotype must be exposed to a decent life history so as to not be dysfunctional in one way or another. Something like that. #evolutionarypsychology #evolutionarybiology

Equality before the law
Freedom of Expression
No Fear of Physical Harm
Libertarian is lowest common denominator that represents Equality at its most desirable it would seem. Anything else is a power grab and not meritocracy.

My point was and still is that true "racism" in America is rare. I'm 25% Jewish and proud of it. Should I be compensated a dime for what Hitler did to the Jews despite the fact I'd have been put to death if it were determined that my grandfather was Benjamin Goldstein? Just like we're all bias and prejudice, we're all victims of something.

I was born and raised in Washington DC in 1947, went to college in North Carolina and have lived in Virginia Beach, Va for the last 50 years. I've also employed hundreds of people in my lifetime, and I can honestly say I've never known an avowed racist, a White Nationalist, or an anarchist, and I probably know by name well over 2,000 people. I'm neither a Democrat or a Republican, but it was because a Democrat insinuated I must be racist because I didn't think like him that I decided I'd never vote for a Democrat again as long as I live. Everyone has an agenda, and this has become my agenda.

Finally, Hitler and his followers killed 1.32M Jews over a three month period during and before WWII. Slavery and the racism that insued can't compare to genocide.....not even close. The closest thing that came to it was the KKK and I dare ask...do you know anyone in the KKK? I don't and I'm pretty sure I never will. Thus, like Will Smith said, "Racism is Actually Rare"

Racism against people of color in America is not rare. Jews were not slaves here in America. People of color were. I want to listen to the victims of racism here in America. Not try to sweep their victimization under the rug.

Congrats on not carrying angst towards Germans. But your feelings are not the same as those here in America that continue to suffer at the hands of racist cops, employers, landlords and so on.

You should stand soundly sensitive to any appearance of, let alone overt, racism. You should stand shoulder to shoulder with those who strive to end it. You should not understate, nor underestimate the seriousness and the commitment it takes to stamp it out.

My point was, and is, that we need to focus on one thing. Calling out racists. Not staying quiet, not going along, not making excuses. Calling it out and taking a firm stand.

By the way, what you did is what a lot of people do. Avoid answering the question of "Where is the justice for the victims of years of racism and crime here in America?"

Let me answer it for you. The justice is in a future where racism is not only wrong, but punishable. The justice is in a future where children of color have the same opportunity as white children. The justice is in a future where bad cops go to jail...quick. The justice is in a future where people like Trump could never be President Of The United States.

But we don't get there by making excuses. We don't get there by thinking a person with white skin thinking they have the answers. We don't get there unless and until all the good people like you, don't give an inch to hate. And lastly, we don't get there until guys like @Rob Monster take a stand that says, if you're racist, if you provide a platform for racists, if you're okay with racists, I will not have any association with you.
