This is going to be interesting to me. When people get themselves into those, whichever way you go, you're going to lose situations. @mr-x can tell you firsthand, it's not an easy position to be in.

So it seems Trump is softening just a touch on masks.

If he continues his current path, he directly contributes to the spread of the virus. Hurts our economy, kills Americans.

If he tries to turn at the last minute and pretend all of a sudden he's pro-mask. Just think how many Trumpers are going to be upset, so he'll lose there. Whatever is left of the dwindling enthusiasm, will be even less. His supporters will call him a sellout, a lemming, might stay home when it comes time to vote.

Which was is he going to go? Either way, Biden still trounces him in November.

Pentagon report says Russia working with the Taliban and others to expedite US withdrawal from Afghanistan [CNN]
Russia has been actively working with the Taliban and other groups inside Afghanistan in order to expedite the withdrawal of US troops from that country, according to a congressionally mandated Pentagon report released Wednesday.
Desperate fake news operatives now want us to believe that Russia would accomplish this by having the Taliban keep killing US soldiers, all the while having an agreement in place.
This sounds a lot like Bashar al-Assad gassing his own people just when everything was going on well for him diplomatically, back in April 2017.

GOP Senators Propose Scrapping Columbus Day, Adding Juneteenth Federal Holiday

Republican senators Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) and James Lankford (R., Okla.) introduced an amendment Wednesday that would replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth as a federal holiday.

The proposal, which follows last week’s introduction of a bipartisan Senate bill by Senator John Cornyn (R., Texas) that would establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday, is aimed in large part at offsetting the cost associated with Cornyn’s plan. Each new federal holiday costs an estimated $600 million in paid time off for government employees, according to a Fox News report.

90% of Americans didn't know what Juneteenth was a few weeks ago. I don't have a problem with it but getting tried of the victimology of the left.

I've seen reports where they are paying $100.000 dollars to kill an American. What bullshit. Taliban would do it for a few hundred rubles and goat.

Just checked exchange rates. The ruble and afgani are even.

The laughable accusation probably took them by surprise too, they dismissed it formally anyway.
“These kinds of deals with the Russian intelligence agency are baseless — our target killings and assassinations were ongoing in years before, and we did it on our own resources,” Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban, told the New York Times.

“That changed after our deal with the Americans, and their lives are secure and we don’t attack them.”

Three Glaring Problems With The Russian Taliban ‘Bounty’ Story
....
1. Anonymous U.S. and Taliban sources?
....
“Who can forget how ‘successful’ interrogators can be in getting desired answers?” writes Ray McGovern, who served as a CIA analyst for 27 years. Under the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation techniques,” Khalid Sheik Mohammed famously made at least 31 confessions, many of which were completely false.
....
2. What purpose would bounties serve?
Everyone and their mother knows Trump wants to pull the troops out of Afghanistan, said Kiriakou.

“He ran on it and he has said it hundreds of times,” he said. “So why would the Russians bother putting a bounty on U.S. troops if we’re about to leave Afghanistan shortly anyway?”
....
3. Why is this story being leaked now?
This story is “WMD [all over] again,” said McGovern, who in the 1980s chaired National Intelligence Estimates and prepared the President’s Daily Brief. He believes the stories seek to preempt DOJ findings on the origins of the Russiagate probe.
....

Also funny how an amount that was almost certainly not in US currency works out to such a round figure in US currency. But again, one doesn't have to cross their Ts and dot their Is to pull the wool over a "liberal's" eyes.

And that rhymes, which makes it automatically an undeniable truth in the world of "liberal" logic.

Republicans signal to Trump to back down on defense bill veto threat over renaming Confederate bases

"Hours later, Republicans on both sides of the Capitol made it clear the president needs to back down in a fight over honoring secessionists who fought the United States to maintain slavery."

Ya think?

He should rename them after Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson. Maybe Jackson.

Biden has nothing to say about it and the media aren't asking.

Do you think Trump should veto the bill?

I don't care either way but if the do rename them, they should use names of CMH recipients or Republican Presidents.
