I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

Thank you for acknowledging my feedback.

At this point, I could not care less about Epik improving their tech/code. Unless a major cultural shift transpires at it's core, this is probably the last piece of QA I will provide.

The issues your company chooses to stand up for makes me sick to my stomach.

Even if that means missing out on one of the best management consoles in the biz.

I'd rather see Epik cease to exist than to watch them continue to support some of the internet's most vile creations.

#CountingTheDays #UntilEpikFilesForBankruptcy #IsTheSPLCHiring? #ThereAreBetterThingsToDoThanHelpTheSpawnOfSatan

Bit harsh but I get it.

What bothers me most actually is that all of them are throwing shit at each other at the moment and they don't seem to give a fuck about actual issues at the registrar.

Still nobody is aware, or acknowledging their .org backorder service is broken. Nobody is watching it, no autorefunds. Backorders running untill eternity.

They take all the time in the world to write a 'book' about racism, posting videos, starting fullon wars on twitter while I'm trying to get shit done. Cut the crap. Get back to business.

Ps.
Pardon my French.

Probably too harsh.

No it wasn't. Just being an emotional client ;) There's a lot of people getting fed up with all this bullcrap.

I always try to look at the positive in people/companies and I have respect for a lot of things Epik has done and accomplished but the way they have been handling themselves recently is something I cannot get behind. Read between the lines and there's so much aggression and hostility. It baffles me.

I'm talking about the registrar page, I don't care about the lander
Ok got it. One solution is you can use .csv export option (which is available just below your domains in registrar page) which exports all your domains in .csv file (in lowercase). I guess this will be useful for you.

Hey Gents, There is a way to solve it. Don't read the other stuff they're carrying on with. To be honest I don't even know what you're talking about, or where it's happening. So it's a non-issue for me. Now I realise you can't unsee whatever has gone on before, but really you can choose not to read any more pretty easily. I remember there was a "What's going on with Rob Monster" thread once. After the first few pages I stopped following as it was just the same people regurgitating the same opinions. I know - it's a bit like everyone slowing down to gawk at a car crash - lots of people do it. But I've tried my best to choose that if something on NP doesn't add anything to my domaining then I just don't read it. Since I am pretty well committed to the Epik platform I follow this thread, and several others. But all that other stuff I can leave that. Anyway, I think it would be good if you could stick around @Grilled, but I totally understand if you've made the decision to leave.

P.S. I am not trying to inflame the situation in any way, just trying to suggest a way whereby you could enjoy the Epik platform without having to take on the burden of all that political stuff that some people carry on with.

Another $1k sale, BIN on Epik lander. Went thru quick, smooth and flawless.

The only thing, i sincerely wish Epik improve and optimize their transaction flow and emailing processes. I was still getting "transfer the domain" emails when the domain was already at the buyer's account. Like, one department doesn't know what another department is doing. A bit annoying, and i can imagine for a new seller this could be quite worrisome.

Just had this rather interesting support experience with Epik:

Chris: Hi. I have sold these 2 domains (private sale on Namepros): xxxx and xxxx. They have recently expired so I cannot push them. Please can you push them to the buyer and he will renew. Buyer's email: xxxx

(01:08:36)

Nhi Doan: One moment, let me check please

(01:55:21)

Nhi Doan: Hi Chris! We apologize for keeping you waiting.

(01:55:38)

Nhi Doan: You have to verify your identity and then contact us so we can enable push.

(01:56:23)

Chris: ? I have already contacted you... How would you like me to verify my identity?

(02:01:01)

Nhi Doan: Because your account has not been verified, you have to update your ID or passport to verify so we can enable push.

(02:05:38)

Chris: You can't be serious? I have been dealing with Epik for several years and have spent thousands of $ with you. Surely if there was some new requirement you would have notified me AHEAD of time so this could be sorted out, rather than wait until I'm trying to do something.

(02:13:41)

Nhi Doan: I sincerely apologize. I have gone ahead and forwarded your message over to our manager so they can look into it

(02:15:00)

Nhi Doan: I will notify you by email as soon as possible. I will make certain that this gets resolved quickly for you.

(02:16:51)

Chris: I have just uploaded my passport. Though if Epik is going to change its requirements so I can transact on my own account surely I should be notified of this ahead of time? Please push the domains ASAP.

(02:22:25)

I've done this a bunch of times before and never been asked for this. @Rob Monster surely if you're going to change requirements like this you could notify us when the change occurs so we can make that change to our accounts? Must say I found it rather annoying to go searching for those details when I just wanted to get a simple push done quickly. I pride myself on providing an excellent experience to my client (fast push, etc) but it's a bit difficult when this is influenced adversely by something like this which I could have had sorted out ahead of time had I been informed about it.

Chris - You were moving expired domains. The staff member was verifying that the move was authorized in order to prevent a case of fraudulent conveyance. You could have simply renewed the domains but instead sought support to allow you to push expired domains. I will review with engineering about simply allowing registrants to push expired domains without renewing.

Yeah, I'm aware of what I was doing. Support rep could easily see my transaction history over the course of years as a customer with Epik. If I was going to fraudulently push a couple of extremely low value domains from an account where I do all my business I would be pretty dumb. And if he can't trust that I am logged into my own account (which requires 2FA) then how can he trust that the passport I uploaded wasn't also a fake? In any case, you haven't confirmed that this is indeed a new policy, so it sounds like the support agent made this decision to ask for extra verification himself/herself. I can understand that, though I find it surprising that there isn't just a standard practice for agents to follow in this scenario - and thus the support experience would be the same for me each time.

In any case, if we could push expired domains ourselves this would be heaps easier and quicker. It would circumvent any of these issues, and save your support staff time too. Win-win.

@vitigo

Push is within the registrar. If an owner can move an expired domain to another registrar, it should be possible to move it within the registrar, no? And, the possibility of doing so shouldn't depend on the passport being uploaded or not, I'd assume.

I have complained about this multiple times. They don’t care. You have to verify yourself or not conduct sales there. They didn’t even had the courtesy to send out an email before they started enforcing this.

Actually you only have so long to renew, very short period, and they lock down your names pretty quickly after exp date and point them to their own landers 🙄 so there is no moving out after exp unless you contact them. They put gray locks on recently transfers and expired domains so pushing is not possible without doing their verification.

Yeah, dynadot also uses their own lander like next hour after the expiration. GD gives you few days uninterrupted.

What I don't understand is why the expired name requires extra verification. Does it somehow become extra valuable after the expiration? ))

Of course, they gain value by the day, until eventually they become Daily Diamonds. ;)

Now it's allowed registrants to push expired domains without renewing.

Hello,

New to Epik, Just got off the chat session with Epik, it wasn’t a good one. Ticket no: 93262. I was chatting with Anand from Epik regarding to transfer around 150 domains. One of a fellow domainer from BB referred me to Epik’s offer where I get a $1 credit applied post transfer.

Current cost for a transfer shows as $8.49 so if I get $1 credit I should be looking $7.49 value for a domain. But he said its $7.99.

Ater he said his calculations is wrong so I didn’t find comfortable so left the chat.

Is the transfer for a domain $7.49 or $7.99.?
I want to transfer around 150 domains and looking for good offers. Cheers.

Is it just for me, but this morning when I am not signed in and at the Epik home page and I click on any of the choices (eg domains, solutions .... support) at top of page it tells me for all of them Forbidden when I try to use the selection for any of them. Can someone else please check and report. I am using Chrome on a Mac, and it definitely was not this way earlier. I am not totally clear who the right person to direct this to at Epik, but hopefully one of following can forward it. Or maybe it is just me forbidden from Epik. :xf.eek:
Thanks,
Bob

Not that I can see, but I might be forbidden
I’m wondering if this is related to me tweeting this morning about a good transfer deal at one of their competitors?
Seriously does anyone else get this or is it just me?

Everything is working normal for me today. Can you try logging in using Incognito Mode on your browser? (just to eliminate the possibility of bad cookies)

Hi Bob, sorry I didnt respond to this thread sooner, I wasn't on in the morning. Is the issue continuing? I'll follow up with you via DM to check the logs with your IP. Although it sounds like a browser issue, if your IP were blocked, you wouldn't see any front end items.

With all the great feedback about Epik, I decided that I want to have landers on Epik for several domains that I am selling (my domains are currently with namecheap). I've set it all up about a day or 2 ago, but for some of my domains, I'm receiving this error.
