Let's use this thread to figure out if it is worth retaining a domain. I am hopeful that senior Domainers are going to support the newbies in treading on the right path.

@Arunkaliappan - Picking up good domains is topic worthy of a book but will give you pointers. We commonly see two issues with names. First - the name itself is bad (bad meaning - hard to remember, confusing with other names, not easy to spell, not easy to pronounce, not used in everyday language, too long, not appealing, and some other less important factors). Second issue is the lack/weakness of a business model.

First you have to think, where a domain name should ultimately end up, what should be a 'Domain Journey'. It needs to be a 'live site' in the hands of a business owner. Then you have to think, why a businessman wants to have that site up, to make money right? To make money, he needs to have a good business model, right?

So that is where you have to shoot for - 'making money', not if you like a name or 'sounds cool'. To realize what we are talking about here, you have to wear the hat of a businessman and customer alike, as without a customer, there is no business. (You should notice - how many times we have used the word 'business' so far).

Let us try to explore both the issues (name itself, and business models) around these names

Propertyfee.com - first there is a problem with the name, no one says property fee, everyone says, property fees. Then let us say even if it was property fees, and 'you' own propertyfees.com - how will you make money. You can make a site where you will list the property fees for house owners/ or govt fees etc. but what is the business model around it? Why would someone pay you on your site propertyfees.com.

Let us move to the second name

Tcarts.com (3) - and question is, so? what is unique about this name. Why one would not remember this as tcarts and not tcart. And what you plan to do with it?

We would like you to go through this exercise and see if you can find viable business (viable = can you 'make money on that business alone' ? Alone part is very important here. Most of the names fail on this aspect, their scope is too limited, hence very limited customer base. You need to have a model that serves larger community, and that community is willing to pay you for something you provide.

Why we say pagerankings is good - actually it is very good. This name is really comparable to sites like semrush, similarweb etc. This is what everyone 'wants' (Page Rankings). This can be a SEO site (big business), it can be a digital marketing company.

Now you have seen a good example, you can go through other names and see if you can find similar uses of other names.

Reboob - interesting, thought it could be breast enlargement site, but not sure even women would like to use the word. And unfortunately, there is a definition for that https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=reboob - so not sure if there is market for this.

That's Urban Dictionary, anybody can give their own definition there. Talking about the applications of the domain name, there are many, and for Market, it's expected to grow to $4bn+ by 2025.

HealthTrophy/com - not so great, health is 'largely' a concern, not sure words like trophy/prize suite there. just not good combination.
FigureHappy/com - this is good, any boutique/fashion brand/health awareness/sports etc.
GagSpot/com - not sure of the business model. If you losely consider gag to mean, stop, not sure what you can do with this
Arrivoo/com - Gave it good bit thought, did not come up with a good use of this name. Delivery service - no, where else. Just does not sound right.
MyCastings/com - names starting with my sound like personal sites, that is one limitation. Second, castings is not a word that is used in every day language.
Groomagic/com - this is ok, shaving product (shaving cream/razor etc), may be men's salon, pet grooming, any grooming business. If not bride/groom area
ValuationLabs/com - this is good, venture capitalists, business appraisers etc or any generic labs name.
ClockHome/com - home is a popular word - but associated with word that has a meaning, makes one wonder about 'relationship' between the two. Also, people may think - is it about clocks or homes. Plus lack of s is another limitation if it is about homes.
512Bits/com - only very few technical people know what 512 means, in such cases where numbers are used you may prefer to stay short where possible. Bytes is more popularly known, not sure even if SSL companies want to mention the number in name.
RealtyPurchase/com - interesting one. If you plan to use it for Realty Business, people prefer to personally brand their realty. Even though word 'realty' technically translates to 'Property', somehow word 'realty' is used more often for business names dealing with realty. This is how the usage has become ABC Realty, Nick Realty. Not sure how many people use this sentence 'I am going to buy some realty' or 'I purchased some realty in Arizona', or 'he owns some realties' (realties does not exist and there must be reason for that). In these cases, people use the word 'property'. One should go for a name with words what people use in every day speaking.

I think you'll have your own idea of value by simply doing a Google search for the term. The fact that the urban dictionary entry is the first thing that comes up is never a good sign.

a) come up with a process related to domain industry (as opposed to domains being treated just as domains)
b) come up with a good tagline.

First, let me thank you for taking the time to analyze and share the opinion. Overall, you have a great approach with some rules of thumb. At the same time, some of my great sales have been the ones that did not fit anyone's rule of thumb and I got a great deal both at buying and at selling point.

Now, just to share my thinking in buying these:

Fervor/org - Fervor is a great positive motivating word. It means "intense and passionate feeling". So it has pretty much unlimited application in non-profit section. You can name a non-profit working with youth, religious ones, the ones helping poor and homeless etc.

Lorises are small primates. As an animal name, especially a primate name, you could name lots of businesses with it, doesn't even have to match what you do. It is pronounced as "Loris is", so quite simple, 3 syllables.

RushmoreFour - there are 4 presidents on Rushmore... Each having a special role in the US history. So could be a great patriotic resource, a consulting business, a think tank etc.

HealthTrophy - there are plenty of apps in Healthcare that are focused on gamification of health. So you could have a company that rewards reaching milestones, creates community around it etc.

GagSpot - this could be for development. Basically, funny stuff. Spot works as an indicator of place, like GameSpot.

Arrivoo - travel related, as in arrival to the destination.

groomagic - you are right. it was used for that and probably will be picked up for the similar use again.

My/Castings - Castings are a large industry for movie/video/commercials/modeling/photo industry. These are basically tryouts for actors and models for a specific role. And, yes, castings is used in an every day language.

ClockHome - I am probably going to develop with world time related info and services. Hard to compete area and hard to find a good word combo for this. So was happy with this one. You could do ecommerce site selling clocks too.

512bits - it is a current/future tech, so I was fine buying it speculatively.

RealtyPurchase - I am with you there to an extent. Yes, BuyProperty would be a fantastic name, probably 5 figure end user, low 4 figure reseller if it comes up in GD auctions for example. But property is a multi trillion industry. And there tens of thousands of people in the US only that buy homes for cash that operate under awful names and could upgrade to something that clearly tells what they do and is memorable and meaningful. So, I am positive this will find a buyer for around $2K.

To conclude, we think in similar direction with the difference being that I probably have a bit more flexibility with the rules. Branding is not an exact science and although some rules are there, it is still a mix with art and each name requires personal consideration.
